If the drive works fine in your other Xbox then it is probably the power or IDE cable in the new one.

I would maybe check the IDE cable it might not be working fully you would know if it wasn't working at all as the xbox will not boot without the dvd drive working.

ok question is their a file that is supposed to be in the c drive to read discs
