It's generally best to hardmod (using either a modchip or a TSOP flash) when installing a different drive, as this means you don't need to worry about drive locking (which is one thing that might NOT work over an adapter, though other people have reported success in the past).
Yes, SSD drives do wear out after being written to a given amount of times. Of course, if you really care about any given set of data, then you should have it backed up to at least one other drive anyway.
ok well i tried to tsop flash before but just ended up removeing the pads on accident. btw my xbox's hd crashed and it was soft modded so is a modchip the only route to getting a hd bak in it? i may hav backed up the hdd key...wait yes i did. i did back up my hdd key. anywho ill see if i can repad the tsop points(moneys a bit tight now so modchips are not an option) and can u point me in the right direction on how to tsop flash? ive long since forgotten lol
