Title: Uxe Autoinstaller English
Post by: TNHitokiri on March 14, 2005, 03:04:00 PM
I spent some time making a UXE installer in English which is a translated version of the one made by Team Guex so creds go to them.. Just to let everyone know that there is a UXE installer that can be found in the usual places in English.. So please leave comments about it here..

It CAN be found on the usual places and it will work. Questions will be answered and this is meant to be a support thread..  biggrin.gif

Ok, the french was outdated so i took the liberty of updating it to UXE .21.. it has font packages 61 and 71 and the nkpatchers for 06 and 67 hds to Krazie

Daddyj, this is the only UXE autoinstaller that can be found in the usual places right now.. ill be glad to answer more questions

you think editig to english and updating the fonts wouldn't make it outdated? It still hasn't got any of the virtual stuff/nkpatcher10 which is released for several months now. And where did you get the idea it is the only english UXE installer. Mine is there and also the Installer Deluxe (which is outdated too).

I'm glad you like it but that still doesn't mean it's not outdated. There are probably people still liking mordens' and ltools also.

we should make a little game out of it...how many auto installers can the softmod scene kick out in a one month period. so far i think we're at about 6 or so...

i'm kidding, we have just enough/way too many installers (depending on how you want to look at it).

i think that any new installers that come out should assist in setting up the shadow c drive after the exploit is installed (several already do this). that is the place where most noobs tend to get lost. and these installers are mostly meant for them right?

Krayzie im not sure what your talking about... Isnt the newest version of Nkpatcher already on the UXE 0.2.1 by D3vr3ro.. It does have the Shadow C maker, iso C maker and the detacher progs included...

Personally I havent seen a UXE installer on xbins currently but i have seen on torrents and what such.. I didnt just update the fonts.. Let me clear all doubts here

Ill list what i did to the French version to make it new..

I looked at the options the French version had i built a brand new autoinstaller from that. I created zips of the fonts, the nkpatcher and the EvoX dashboard that was included in D3VZ3r0's UXE 0.2.1 pakage which included  Shadow C maker, iso C maker and the detacher progs in NKPatcher.

I made the config.xml scripts from scratch and same with the zip files.  It will also restore your previous C drive.. Please at least look at the files before giving criticism..  Dont complain if you have the wrong impression tongue.gif

After you do check out the files and see if there is anything outdated, ill be glad to update it and send it back again...

we're not saying you didn't do a good job of putting together an auto installer....it's just that currently there are installers that have more features (such as virtual C setup). it's sort of like re-inventing the wheel. so in summary, good job....but it's kinda a step backwards in a sense.

just for the record...the french installer used pbl-metoo. if you made an auto installer using uxe complete then you didn't really update the french one so much as....make a completely new one.
Title: Uxe Autoinstaller English
Post by: TNHitokiri on March 15, 2005, 06:08:00 PM
Yeah it is made from scratch, but i used the base options in the French version to make a new English one. I can add any features on request.. I just gotta know what they do and how it is normally installed manually to add it in.

BtW, when i was looking at the contents of the French Installer i was wondering "Why the hell is PBL in here?"  So thats the reason i made it completely new.  Im not going for credit, im just trying to make these autoinstallers more available to people. I dont know of ANY UXE memcard installer that is on xbins

I guess that UXE 0.2.1 doesnt come with NKPatcher 10 so i think ill update that..  And anything else you guys want.. I didnt create this thread to brag.. I created to make this installer better..

IIRC Krayzie's is on xbins now. it has uxe, nkpatcher 10 and it also sets up a shadow c drive (i believe).

Good job on the installer, just alot of them floating around recently, we dont want any that are outdated.

I for one would love to have a self-updating auto-installer (<evil grin>).

Base of purpose in this day in age.

UXE 6.1 & 7.1 , with addition s font for compatibility purposes.

NKP v10(+) The installer should setup virtual C & virtual eeprom for you.

It should have the option for EEE/UEEE/SCEEE.

It should provide a install for available dashs.

And I find that Krayzies & triggernum5's installers do these things. So if you can get your installer to do all these, then it is definitly a welcome addition, and yeah your going to ketch crap for it as well  laugh.gif .... It part of the scene.

Thank you DaddyJ, i plan on adding in NKpatcher 10, 61 and 71 fonts are already included.  Im also planning on adding Unleashx, Avalaunch and maybe MXM if possible..

Im gonna have to figure out want this UEEE thing is.. (ive read about it before but i forgot)  and add that in.. Thanks alot for the comments  smile.gif

Well even though I made an EEE installer I left it out in my UXE installer since it's...like kinda useless. I feel like how less option are have to made the easier it would be for n00bs. Anyway I feel all the important stuff should be there (nkpatcher10,virtual C,virtual eeprom, msdash suport) Any installer without it is outdated. I really don't understand how you see your installer as the only UXE installer on xbins. I don't even get how you got it there in the first place. Even that softmod deluxe crap is there (which also uses pbl metoo  blink.gif ).
I'm sorry if I may come over harsh but do we really need like 10 different installers? Especially when 80 % of them is outdated. People allready think that installers are the only way to mod their xboxes and they now only have mindtroubles on which installer to get. It would almost be easier to do the whole softmod yourself manually then having to figure out which installer does what.

Help!!

Looks like this thread can be used for support now. Straight up, I'm a newb.. Got my own soft mod now trying to do it for a friend.

I had put Evo X on the box but wanted Unleash X that runs automatically upon startup. Downloaded UXE Autoinstaller UXE version 0.21 and FTP'd the 4541d0000 folder in UDATA to the HD. Start up 007 and open save from HD, Unleash X loads, the menu comes up for like 3 seconds and then it Auto Loads the Game... Error 21. If I try to eject the game, it resets.

Don't have access to MS dash, can anybody please help.

- I've tried putting the original evox back onto memory card and tried to load the save from it but it keeps loading to the same menu. I think i started out with 007_With_Evox_Installer, but I've downloaded and tried so many of these thigns I've lost track. There are prbly a bunch of files on the E and C that I copied over from my personal box too, if that helps. *CURSING*

Thanks.

That doesnt make any sense at all.. If you didnt do anything with my installer, it shouldnt affect anything at all on your xbox.  It wont work if you have other 007 gamesaves on your xbox. If you can get ftp access, then just install UXE manually and all should be fine.  Otherwise erase all 007 saves and try again.

There aren't any other 007 saves on the xbox. I dont have FTP access. As soon I open the save your menu loads up and it launches the dvd within 3 seconds. How can I erase the 007 save from the xbox?

Actually stacker69 updated the UXE ENG v2 and now you can get the UXE ENG v2.2 which has nkpatcher and shadowc option.

QUOTE
This UXE is originally the UXE_ENG_v2 but I modified it a little bit. I upgraded the unleashx dash from build 536 to build 543. This UXE installer now uses nkpatcher instead of PBL. Also included in this package is a Virtual C creator. This will create a Virtual C of your xbox harddrive so your softmod is protected from Xbox Dashboard upgrades. The setup is exactly the same as the original except this is with nkpatcher 10 plus the Latest UnleashX dashboard. The "Xbios 10.bin" is actually X2 4981.06 and the "Xbios 16" is M8plus_16.bin. This UXE has live blocking. I know it's not the most feature packed UXE auto-installer that you can get. This is basically a "No Frills" UXE installer. NOTE: Make you that you create a virtual C before you do anything else. Make sure that you backup your eeprom and backup your File SYstem (C:) so you can recover if something goes wrong.

Author: Stacker69

And I'd be happy to let people know where it is because it's not at xbins. Just pm me.

The rules of X-S are clear. You cannot give direct or indirect links to illegal material. What you do outside X-S is your own business as long as nothing is linked to here. If you have questions about rules you could better ask a mod/admin about that since I am just a simple member just like you and I have no controll about such things whatsoever.

I've been using ltools 1.8 for the past 3 months and have modded about 30 xboxes with it, without a single failure. Why would I want to update? Who cares if nkpatcher10 is used instead of nkpatcher9, does it make a difference in the end?
I'm happy with ltools and wont consider changing unless it stops working, or someone can give me a very good reason for doing so...

Well like I said I wouldn't upgrade unless I had good reason to... saying nkpatcher 10 has shadow functions doesn't mean much by itself... is it going to increase the success rate of modding? Does it make the softmod XBL compatible? Does it have any advantage whatsoever?

You criticize other softmod authors for not being up-to-date when there doesn't seem to be any compelling reason to be. Why should the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" not apply here?

2. i backed up the hard drive deleted everything and put the stock xbox files back on

3. i copied the game save too the hard drive

4. i rebooted the orignal xbox dash loads like half way and then turns into an error 21?

5. i tried booting the 007 disc i got as far as it loading the save then i seen the uxe instllaer menu then it also went to an error 21

i read 2 people who have the same problem (i think) im just wondering if its the installer or my xbox messed up?

- Use xboxhdm fix the problem, or restore the HDD back to original. (assuming you did backup your Eeprom on the first attempt, as all tutorials tell you to do.)

- Don't forget to lock the disk.

- Put disk back into Xbox.

- Apply other mod

- All set.

And yes, one day you may be a 'Wise guy' yourself.

First, Krazyie is probably the most knowledgable guy in this area. I think if there already isn't one someone could go about starting a list similar to the bios chart.
http://www.xbox-scene.com/bios_retail.html
except for softmod autoinstallers. I never use autoinstallers but a lot of people do and this would be a nice way to compare the options. This way they could see options such as virtual drives and then people could even look up options they never even knew existed and end up learning a bit and finally have a better mod in the end.

The autostart can be prevented by holding L+R keys during UnleashX start.
Thanx to incognegro for that info.
