Title: Duox Still Bad For 1.6?
Post by: LordTrace on June 02, 2006, 05:58:00 PM
I have been out of the xbox loop for quite some time. I remember something about the DuoX and other chips like it pulsing the xbox and shortening its life... Has this issue been resolved with the newer chips?

Thanks

Sorry wrong Forum... can a mod move it please? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Sorry for the tripple post but I would really like to hear an opinion of someone that "knows" before I go ahead and buy a 1.6 and a DuoX.    (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

I'm aware that they will last a considerable amout of time but I still have my original NES. I'd like to say the same for this (proly the last I ever buy) Xbox years from now.

I would spend more on a chip if its not going to casue this problem

Thanks

I can't comment on whether the new duox2 gs fixes this or not.. but I can say that I've been running a 1.6 with a duox2 since 2004 and have yet to see a single problem (I also do hundreds of installs and have never had a 1.6 come back for failure of this kind).

So.. I wouldn't worry about it.

If you are worried fit the resistor. It only takes a few minutes more
