Title: Lan / Nic Name
Post by: SPENGLER on January 13, 2007, 04:56:00 PM
Does anyone know a way to make the XBox state a system name when it signs onto a router/DHCP?  Simply put, without modding my HOSTS file, i'd like to talk to the XBox via a name instead of IP.

I have a Xenium ICE chip on there, and if i remember correctly (haven't changed it in 2 years) the M8+ BIOS.

Thanks for any insight.

Unfortunately, i'm pretty sure that the only way to do it would be to edit your HOSTS file, because the XBOX does not even have a 'Computer Name', because it was never even meant to be accessed in the first place like we do with FTP.
