Title: Software Eject Option
Post by: nooc on March 08, 2005, 07:33:00 PM
I found, from the usual sources, a couple of xbe scripts that eject the dvd tray and close it, using these just causes it to open slightly, close then shutdown my xbox.

i would really like to have this feature on the main menu of XBMC, has anyone got these working or anything similar?

You may ask why, well, ill tell you. During my xbox modding i managed to screw up the eject button so when in chip mode i cant eject unless i turn it off and on again in unchipped mode which is very annoying, if i could script it into the XMBC menu it would save me buying a new motherboard.

Anyone know anything about these scripts?

Sounds like you could just get and new eject/power board instead of a new mobo.

Ya they work fine for me on my version 1.0 box w/ X2 4983 bios and my ver 1.4 w/ X2 4981 but i have tried them on my ver 1.6 w/ M8+ and they didnt work ..... dunno if that helps you or not, not sure if its the xbox version or the bios version causing the prob...

i got a 1.6/m8 so i guess thats the problem.

Cronus130, i dont think its the power/eject board as this hasnt been touched, i has to be something on the board itself that got fried unfortunately.

Thanks for the replies those guys!

The thing about M8 bioses is that sometimes when you press the eject button, your Xbox resets, as with the X2 bioses, it never resets.

You should try using an "M8+ Metoo" bios, which has the eject fix

Make sure the reset on eject is activated.

Get the m8+ bios and evtool just to make sure....
