Title: How Do You Mod Your Xbox

I have just purchased an Xbox; could you tell me how to add software or "mod". I have never altered the system. I have GTA: San Andreas and someone sent me a Hot Coffee program for it; but I have no idea of where to start. Could someone help me out....please.
