Post by: G-bert on March 05, 2005, 01:58:00 PM
OK, so i have newest build 2005_04_03 and i have the screensavers that came with it extracted into the xbmc home folder but when i go into settings and go to screensavers there is only 2 (dim and black) or off, how do i get the other screensavers? do i have to do something to my xboxmediacenter.xml or what?
Any help would be appreciated!! :)

I'm lost here too. I have the screensavers, but do not know where to place the folder containing the screensavers. I have the new CVS build released 2005-03-04. If someone could tell us step by step, it would be very much appreciated.

Thats what i had in the first place and it did not work but i checked the folder and realized it was a stupid mistake. I had the screensavers folder in the xbmc folder but within that screensavers folder i had another folder called screensavers but you have to have them in the first level of the screensavers folder. This problem was probably caused when extracting the screensavers.rar
hope this helps you others!!
And yes prominater is right just put it in the xbmc home folder!

Guys I would look for the correct build as it should contain everything anyhow !! Theirs plenty of places out their, probably be quicker for you in the long run and your`ll have more hair in the morning too !! :)
Prominator you sure you got the latest build as i`m sure i read somewhere that a couple of the screensavers did not work unless it was with the latest build ? could be wrong though ?

If you use XBMC as your dash, make sure to update the XBE that your bios boots as well (for me. it is C:\evoxdash.xbe).

you must rename the file called 'default.xbe' to the name of the xbe file on your c:\ drive. for most its evoxdash.xbe found on your c:\ drives main folder. Rename the file name 'default.xbe' in the rar file you downloaded and then upload that file now called 'evoxdash.xbe' to your c:\ drives main folder. It should ask you if you wish to overwrite that file. and for sure you answer yes.
