cOz released a new version of Dash Launch build for JTAG 360s.
What's new/fixed: * fixed noupdater option, readme is accurate with regards to updates now (sorry) * fixed dvdexitdash option, no longer conflicts with using miniblade to exit NXE should only affect DVD launched from NXE (note this affects DVD games too) * fixed a glitch with unhandled exception logging when occurs in kernel * revert to original fileExist() method

Thanks for the update. With the frequency of the updates, he must be commiting a reasonable amount of time to this.
I've encountered a Fatal Exception with Mass Effect 2 when using v1.1 of the Disc Swapper plugin, and it generated the crashlog which is posted in the DL v2.20 thread. I'm wondering could these debugging features help homebrew coders enough to spur additional development?

not many people do, they should change the location or something

Why no more open source policy? It was nice being able to read through the code.
-
Did I miss something? I no longer get the auto updates. Has this feature been removed?
-
Auto updates?
I have never saw an auto update for DL!?

LOL Oh yeah, I was thinking of FSD.
How stupid of me.

I updated my JTAG with this yesterday. I have used every release up until now with no problems. I am running 12611. My problem is now artwork will not download in FSD (latest build). Any suggestions? Otherwise I guess I'm going back to the last revision of this.

thats because you set dashlaunch to aggressively block microsoft and it wont download any artwork I had the same problem till I changed the setting

Ok I didn't change any settings at all though. All I did was launch the xex from the installer folder and installed it. How do I fix this? Reflash old nand and start over or can it be done through FTP? I always look at the read me and it said that I had to change a setting in the .ini to block everything. run the 2.21 installer on your jtag and when it asks you to change settings say yes and say no when it asks you to block microsoft dns aggressively

Hmm I don't get that option when I run the installer? It just gives me the option to flash the freeboot updates the first time and then the second time it tells me I already have the updates.
Is it possible that because I am still on 12611 dash that I don't get that option menu? Do I have to have 12625?

You need to have launch.ini on one of your storage devices. If it doesn't exist it won't ask you to change settings.

Ok thanks. I will just revert to my old nand and an earlier version then. Last time I messed around with the launch.ini I had all kinds of problems.
Actually I went ahead and tried it. Worked out pretty well. I just with there was an option to have that installed without a launch.ini file. Just makes me nervous I guess after the bad experience I had previously with it. Thanks for all the help guys!

do xbox1 games work with this version of dashlaunch ?
-
They work for me.
-
Yes.

QUOTE(Velocimodz @ Apr 13 2011, 07:05 AM)

I'm having issues with this new version, everytime I do the update, it appears to write all 3 files to flash, but it never loads the correct options. I have this in my .ini on the root of USB.
So it should be loading from Hdd:\FSD 2.0\default.xex by default, I have checked the shortcuts a million times and it is definitely correct and the same as I always use. It only boots to NXE. Even if I have a USB hdd with FSD 2.0 on it and hold X during startup, it still only boots NXE. I can run the shortcut manually thru xex menu so that is fine also.
Tried first on a Jasper and it corrupting the launch.ini file, after each dashlaunch update the .ini would be an empty file, all settings disappeared.
Can anyone think of what could be wrong here? Its got me stumped.
I would try without a space in the folder name, if you haven't tried that...

Yeah I have tried that and it worked. Strange that it never happened on other machines before tho.
Thanks buddy.
Can you confirm it allows games that require a higher dash 12655 to play on a 12611 freeboot? I haven't got any new games to try it with, but I presume thats what the hashcheck removing is about?
-
I updated to 12611 back a few months back and use XexMenu 1.1 to only play games from the hard drive...if i want to play something new, like YooStar 2, do I need something like this new version of Dash Launch? I apologize for the newb question, I obviously don't play my JTAGGED system that often and have been reading up on Dash Launch...still trying to figure out if I NEED it or not.
Thanks...Sturmie
-
I downloaded 2.21 from the usual xbins when i extract the folders in the installed directory i only get default.xex usually there is a media folder and a files folder in there too? Was this changed in this version or do i have a dodgy version of the patch? i don't want to flash until i find out

-
That's all there is.

When I ran dashlaunch 2.0 last week It upgraded me to 12625 now, For some reason this took me back to 12611 can some one explain so I can get back to 12625? Some newer games require 12625 correct?

Dash launch doesn't upgrade or downgrade your firmware... it updates itself and the patch set based on what firmware you're console is on. If it really went from 12625 to 12611, I'd be looking under the bed and such for the "evil reflashing elves" that used to stick to just stealing socks...
QUOTE(toybox @ Apr 15 2011, 09:08 AM)

Without Dash Launch it works just fine, but after installing i receive " fatal crash intercepted " error
until my console blacks out. It still reacts to the controller but repeats " fatal crash intercepted ".
If you could set the dumpfile option in the ini to something like
dumpfile = Hdd:\crashlog.txt
it will dump the crash causes to that file in the root of the partition with /content folder on it, which could (maybe) help to find the issue. After doing that, you can also try
exchandler = false
And see if it improves the behaviour. Keep in mind, the ini file has to be somewhere it can be found at console boot up, and if a USB HDD is causing issues that won't be the place to put it.

Ok... i found the problem ... nasty old ping patch was still on both Hdd's and caused the problem.
Removed > Problem solved

Heh, good stuff toybox, thanks for grabbing that log too.
Just a quick note, problem with Yars' has been found, for now if you MUST use it disable liveblock... it should be fixed in a release in the next day or two. From a beta this morning:
CODE
- resolving 'localhost' when the router forwards it to the internet or there is
no network at all... bad idea game devs... fixed (Yars', maybe others)
-
the problem I'm having is that only games i copy from the 360 itself are showing up - anything put into the /games folder via my PC don't. Is there something special I need to do via my PC before I copy them to the USB HDD?
Also, I put the FSD2 folder on the USB HDD and configured the launch.ini file to point to usb0:\FSD2\default.exe for the X button hold boot, but when I hold X during boot I am brought directly into XEXMenu...strange.
Slight newbie at this stuff, so I apologize ahead of time for my lack of knowledge regarding this..and I thank you for any help you can provide.
Cheers.

hi guys
the ping patch does not work for 12625 dash but it works in 12611 dash
i hope that it can be fixed

Looks like there is a bug with 2.21 and at least one xbox live game confirmed not working when 2.21 is installed:
http://digiex.net/do....html#post44293
The game is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Turtles in Time.
Black screen on load, no 2.21 installed, loads fine.
Anyone run into any others that do not work with 2.21?
-
I put the dashlaunch folder in usb0:\games, and the launch.ini inside the installer folder. But when I run the default.xex inside the installer, it goes to update and asks me all the questions, like it couldnt find the launch.ini. After reboot, my options to start FSD and xexmenu with BUTs X & Y dont work, it always goes straight to the retail dash.

Is your usb hdd formatted to FAT32? The xbox won't recognize NTFS.

Does anyone know if dash launch now detects the zephyr 4580 correctly? I used to just copy the falcon patches and rename them to zephyr. now the patches are inside the default.xex file so that is no longer an option.
I was able to extract the files from the xex file with xextool, but i do not know how to recompile it back to xex file.
I am trying to help a friend update this box that used to be mine and am trying to aviod having to reflash it if the wrong patches are applied.
thanks.
Nevermind, it does now correctly apply the falcon patches! thanks.

dash launch is cool. the fact that i dont have to do a real update i can just update dash launch to play the new titles.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Turtles in Time - not working with Dash Launch v2.21, any solution?

Yars Revenge also not working for me - black screen.
Using FreeBott 12611.
Did anyone tested Yars Revenge?
