a quickboot shortcut is the easiest way to do it.........quickboot will create a GOD live container, which will point to your director with fbanext.
the other way, which i've tried and sometimes works is making the directory into an iso with createiso, then using iso2god, but doesn't work all the time.
quickboot is your best bet.
i don't know why you're experiencing the hanging afterwards though. do you have dashlaunch 2.08? i run fbanext without any issues.
