XM360 2.0a has been publicly released. It is available in the usual places.
The old support thread has been made invisible. It was explained to me that it was perceived as a commercial advertising thread since I accept donations. Because of that, I will no longer mention donations anywhere on this thread *except for this first post*. I continue to accept donations, much like many many other homebrew developers/projects. The amount of time and effort homebrew takes is huge, and the donations add a small sense of accomplishment. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. If the mods have a problem with this, you can edit this post to remove this paragraph, or remove the thread entirely. I'm still hoping to get the old thread back, since it has a lot of historical information. If the mere mention of accepting donations causes this thread to be removed, I'll have to pack my bags and do support and announcements elsewhere...which makes me sad.
With that, please enjoy the newest features.

I'll be honest i am a big fan of the 360, but when probably 90% of homebrew is nothing more than utilities like this it just kills my faith in the Jtag scene, people just aren't bothering with regularly updated emulators/games, so even if people have good intentions with making these utilities it just shows the main purpose right now to Jtag your 360 is piracy, and with the Ps3 now hacked a lot of the people who want to do entertaining homebrew are just gonna jump ship to the Ps3 with a better potential.
-
nice work, this has always been a must have for jtags.

i am having trouble getting this to work with the server, as well as xbox to xbox transfers i can never get the box to show up on the other box

Great app! Have never been able to get xm360server.exe to work but I think it's because I use an internal hdd on my 360. I usually just update with perl. Anyways...a cool feature to add would be the ability to find and delete duplicate dlc and also to locate avatar items. I have sooooo many duplicate avatar items and way too many duplicate rb/gh songs that always show up as corrupted because there are duplicates.

Shouldn't have anything to do with an internal hdd, don't know why you'd think that even matters. I only have internal hard drives on all of my 360s...and it works fine.
Find and delete of duplicates could be done...
Avatar items has been asked many times before. I'd have to learn about them. I haven't gotten to that point yet.

Its great there's another update. Just used it on my optional media update and works perfect.
-
Thanks, i got it to show. But when i click the proper IP the xbox restarts itself, it did it on both boxes. That is way weird ???
-
I have the same problem. Every time I click to connect to another system, the Xbox reboots. This happens on both systems I've tried it on, and with all versions of XM360 I've tried. If I click the "Force Rescan" box before trying to connect, it appears to take longer before the reboot. Here's my info in case it helps narrow down the cause.
Jasper 256mb
Freeboot .32 with latest Dashlaunch (w/ MU corruption fix)
Unlicensed Content Patch v2(?) with System Link patch included.
Freestyle Dash 2.0 v1044
XM360 v1.9b (tried also with v1.8d)
-
These are both very interesting results...I've never seen this happen, but it sounds like a straight-up crash of xm360...
Are you guys trying to connect to xm360_server, or another xbox running xm360?
-
Mine are crashes when I try to connect to another Xbox. I've never tried the server (I don't keep copies of the stuff on a PC....I tend to move everything to the Xbox, then delete it from the PC). It does seem like a straight-up crash of XM360, and then possibly the Dashlaunch patch reboots the system. I have no problems when scanning local content, or unlocking/renaming DLC/XBLA, only when I try to connect to another system.
-
Okay...I haven't tried 360 to 360 in quite some time, since I use the server for everything...I'll see if I can figure out what's going on in there...
-
Just for shits and giggles, I turned off the "Content Patch" (thanks to Dashlaunch 2.0's new easy setting in the ini file) to see if that changed anything, but it doesn't. The console still shuts down (this is the new default behavior of Dashlaunch when presented with a "Fatal Error" according to their documentation).
A little more info on the activity just pre-crash:
The crash occurs a few seconds after the "button" with the IP of the other system is clicked. All of the XBLA on the screen at the time are marked with the "L" for local, and the USB drive scanning seems to begin. Then the screen glitches (text blurs and moves a little to the side/half of screen goes blank/random garbage) and the system shuts down/reboots.
If there is any other info I can give, or any testing I can help with, just let me know.
-
mine reboots just for launching it, black screen, will never scan/make the index...

Nah, this one will probably end up being trivial once I can make it happen in my dev environment. I'll be trying that this weekend.
QUOTE(bidrug @ Sep 17 2010, 04:05 AM)

Sounds like a bad install/bad download/bad something...this issue has never been reported by anyone else.
-
yes mine just crashes when i do box to box even if the 2nd box is at freestyle dash and not xm360. i am using 1.8 i will try 1.9 and check.
the purpose of xmserver is? isnt that the same thing as flashfxp?
-
just put dashlaunch 2 on both boxes and set it to stay on during crash
used the latest xm360 on both boxes, as soon as it find a connection it freezes
i tried it both boxes
if i start a connection on a box and then turn the other box and as soon as it gets to the dashboard the xbox that initiated the connection freezes
i am not sure why but thats my problem
would the ping patch have anything to do with this?
-
QUOTE(xboxhaxorz @ Sep 17 2010, 06:48 PM)

I tried disabling the ping patch and the unlicensed content patch to see if maybe they were the issue. Still freezing, so I'm thinking it's not them. It may be Dashlaunch itself, but I don't really feel like building and flashing another freeboot image to test it. Node21 said he'd check it out over the weekend on his new DevKit, which is awesome of him to do, though I'd much rather have a new version of FreestyleDash to play with than a fixed XM360 (hint, hint). ;^)

My end, I'll have to make a new release and get it to the "beta testers." Probably tomorrow.

I could use a little help. I haven't been keeping up with XM360 versions, so I am probably doing something wrong. FYI, just sent a donation as well...thanks for your continued effort.
So, my 360 has a ton of content on the USB drive. I'd like to setup the server and keep the two in sync. Awesome feature.
My XBOX config looks like:
CODE
# config file for xm360 ("xm360.cfg")
# XM360 looks for this file first in Hdd1:\config\xm360 (Hdd1:\config\xm360\xm360.cfg)

#CONTENT_BIN_PATH = hdd1:\config\xm360
And my server config looks like:
CODE
# The following drives can be defined Hdd1, Usb0, Usb1, Usb2, MemUnit0, MemUnit1, OnBoardMU, UsbMU0, UsbMU0Cache, UsbMU1, UsbMU1Cache
# At least one drive must be defined otherwise nothing is going to work. I suggest defining Hdd1 at least.
# Absolute paths like c:\foo and UNC paths like \\server\share\path are both supported.
# You shouldn't nest them, or you will end up with duplicates. In other words, don't define Usb0 to be a branch of Hdd1
#DEFINE_HDD1 = \\share\public\console images\xbox360\jtag
DEFINE_HDD1 = D:\Content Server
#DEFINE_USB0 = e:\temp\USB
#CONTENT_BIN_PATH must be defined as an xbox 360 path, it defaults to Hdd1:\
CONTENT_BIN_PATH = Usb0:\Content\
#
# The FTP user, password and port can be defined, but they will default to xbox, xbox, 21 otherwise
#
#FTP_USER = xbox
#FTP_PASSWORD = xbox
#FTP_PORT = 212
I can connect from the XBOX just fine. I then go to do the initial "Push" from the xbox. Each item in the content window shows "Queued". One by one it looks like it is uploading to the server. After about 4 or 5, the XBOX reboots. On the server, I don't see any messages in the DOS window. The location for where I want my content to go shows a "content.bin" only.
What have I obviously done wrong?
-
Thanks for the donation!
I don't know what would cause the reboot...but here's what you've obviously done wrong....
The path on the "server" where files get stored MUST mirror the exact path that they reside on the 360.
In your case, you indicated that your content is on USB:, but your server config doesn't have a drive mapping for that device (it's commented out near the top). Give the server some idea of where it should store USB: content, and it should all be fine.

Ahhh, ok. For whatever reason, I interpreted the options in the configuration as only requiring ONE location. So I've now defined a HDD1 and USB location on my server.
The files are now copying with no issues so far so that appears to have resolved the reset issue.
Thanks
-
Thank you for this excellent software. This is the best FTP server for 360 IMO. So fast. I always use it instead of anything else when I need to FTP in stuff. On average, 16 MB/s uploading to my 360 HDD (wired network). FileZilla is the client I use most of the time (on Gentoo Linux).

Is it possible to sync up two content locations on the xbox to one server location?
My XBLA content is on the USB, whereas the DLC and Updates are on the internal HDD. My XBLA syncs just fine. My Content is located:
Usb0:\Content (XBLA Here)
Hdd1:\Content (DLC)
Hdd1:\Cache (Title Updates)
Is there a way to add three CONTENT_BIN_PATH locations or something?
My server config looks
CODE
DEFINE_HDD1 = D:\Content Server\HDD
DEFINE_USB0 = D:\Content Server\USB
CONTENT_BIN_PATH = Usb0:\Content\
Things may have changed, but back when I first JTAG'd, DLC and Title Updates HAD to be on the internal HDD and XBLA could be located on the external USB drive. Hence my seperation of content
-
this should work fine...
But I think you are confusing the CONTENT_BIN_PATH with defining directories.
CONTENT_BIN_PATH is a singleton, and tells the server on which of the other paths you want to store the "content.bin" file. There's no reason you'd ever need more than one...
Go ahead and define a single Hdd1: and a single Usb0: on the server, and every one of your 360s will be able to put content on the server in those two volumes.
-
Does the content that I want sync have to first be shown on screen? IE if I want DLC to sync, must I first do 'Show DLC" and then hit the Both button to sync?
I think my assumption was that if I click both right after xm360 loaded, it would sync ALL content, but the results were just the XBLA
I follow you on the CONTENT_ specifier.
Thanks node
-
all of the sync buttons pay attention to what is currently displayed.
So, if you are on the first screen, and you use RB to show only GOD containers, and sync...only GODs will sync.
If you are on the DLC scene and have chosen to see DLC for Forza, and sync...only Forza DLC will sync.
If you want to sync *everything* you will have to visit the first scene (and leave it on "all"), the DLC scene (and leave it on "all"), etc...

was that restarting issue ever fixed??????

Hi node21...
Any chance you could just always write the report files everytime the content.bin is updated?
I always wondered why this was not just automated...It would save some steps that I do very frequently...and would make my next request unnecessary...
if no on earlier request, any chance we could get a custom FTP command to make XM360 on XB write the report files? My computer is a long way from my TV and I always am walking back and forth just to tell XM360 to write updated reports...then walking back to computer to FTP the reports and look at them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The one where you connect one 360 to another? I fixed it, but haven't built an official release yet. I'll do that right now, and send it out to the testers.

Thanks for the donation! Unfortunately, both of these requests would require some *real* effort. The scenes that currently write the reports are the *only* scenes that actually have all of the required data... In other words, when you launch xm360, it doesn't even know about DLC (for example) until you enter the DLC scene.
I'll look into it to see how much of an effort it would really be.

node21,
I am testing with 2.0...I found a small problem with RESC and RPTS FTP commands...
Did a full scan and created reports from the XBOX XM360 UI as normal...
Then went back to computer and uploaded a missing XBLA game...via FileZilla...
Issued custom FTP command RESC (connection timed out)...waited 5 minutes or so to let it finish rescanning...
Reconnected FTP and was able to verify that content.bin timestamp had changed....
Issued custom FTP command RPTS returned quickly and was able to verify that report timestamps had changed...
FTPed the reports back to computer and the XBLA game was still listed as missing...
repeated all the steps a 2nd time....still shown as missing from the report...
Went back to XBOX and check the XM360 GUI...Stills shows as missing in the collection management GUI...
Did rescan from XBOX XM360 GUI...now the XBLA game is FOUND and shown as HAVE and the report...
Something seems wrong with the RESC FTP command...seems like the rescan did not work correctly...
Am I missing something obvious here? This is my first time using RESC....maybe I am misunderstanding the expected behaviour here (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hi node21,
Just upgraded to the latest version and noticed some odd things and not sure if these have been addressed before:
1) When using xm360server to update the DLC, it seems to indicate that it is update some new titles and exits successfully. However, when running the same command immediately afterwards, it indicates it is updating the same content again. I checked the files, and the tiles that were updated were already in the csv. It also does the same thing with a few titles for XBLA.
2) xm360server doesn't seem to download all the titles, and this is especially noticeable with the DLC database. I ran the perl scripts, and the files sizes are significantly higher for the DLC.csv (~400K vs. ~900K), and to a lesser extent, the XBLA titles as well.
3) When generating reports, should it also show titles that are not matched?
Thanks, for your hard work and donation sent!

Thanks for the detailed description. Without even looking at the code, I know what's wrong. I forgot about the RESC ftp command...it goes through a different codepath. Trivial fix. I'll try to get a 2.0a out ASAP. Nice catch!

Thanks, for your hard work and donation sent!
1) That's because it has no concept of "time". If a title is listed as updated "today", every single time you tell it to update it will fetch the updates.
2) This has never been reported, and is quite worrisome. The perl version doesn't know anything about dates...it just grabs the world. Is the clock/date on your computer correct? Are you downloading from the same region in both cases? Are you downloading from the region with the same clock settings as your PC (that shouldn't matter since it's all GMT).
3) You'll have to clarify what you mean here.
(Not sure if you are talking about a new donation, or an old one...nothing new received, so check where you sent it? Anyway, thanks for the thought! )

Okay, after some PMs from invivo, I understand what's going on.
The reason the perl downloader ends up with a MUCH bigger file that the xm360_server downloader is simply because the perl downloader is stupid.
There are TONS of duplicates in the resulting file. You see, the marketplace lists, for example, Band Hero, and Band Hero II...They both have TONS of DLC...yet, all of the DLC for each is the same. The perl scraper doesn't know this, and grabs them all (and xm360 filters the duplicates). Xm360_server understands this, builds an internal map, and only spits out the unique DLC. So, rest assured, you aren't missing anything by using the server.
As far as noting DLC that you have, but wasn't matched...It's there already. In the "DLC that you have" section of the report, the second column of the CSV file is either "HAVE", or "HAVE_BUT_NOT_IN_DB".
Lastly, donation received, thanks!

Currently being tested. Hope this does the trick...I didn't have time to test it myself.

Just an observation, but I noticed that the .exe omits some content that the perl script catches. I noticed that several Lips DLC are listed in the perl .csv but not the .exe csv. This may be the case with other content as well. Has anybody else experienced this? (BTW, Region = US)

node21,
Is there any method to retrieve the free space on a device from xm360?
If not, any chance you could implement some free space reporting in the UI and also via custom FTP command?
I have 640GB internal drive but am constantly near capacity...and have to walk to xbox and switch to other apps to get capacity info....
Getting VERY close to being able to do everything remotely from my computer and FTP to XM360...but this piece still missing
-
I'll put it on the list...there's nothing in there currently.
-
One more thing I noticed...alot of times it won't list DLC as missing until you have at least 1 piece of DLC for that title (even if title is NOT ignored)...is this expected?

Yes, that is entirely intentional. Otherwise, imagine what your report would look like...there's a million titles out there that have DLC which you couldn't care less about...and EVERY single one of those would be listed as "MISSING". Check the first line of the output report, I think there's a hint there. :-)

Hey, Thanx for another release...
I'm about to have a bit of a look/test and try to get the server working. There was a bunch of stuff that may have been in the previous thread that I can't reference regarding a couple of issues (My memory sux) so I'll refrain for a while untill I've had time to have a decent look. I'm not expecting any great problems but there was one issue I was having using the (server) /L without the /U and getting strange results (I can't remember if anything was asked/answered on the issue) There may have been other causes of the issues I was having ... Anyway like I said before I get carried away detailing a problem that prolly doesn't exist, Thanx again for supporting XM and ur contribution. The scene wouldn't be what it is without your (and others) selfless contributions. Hmmm ...

2.0a released. First post updated.
-
node21 u can't imagine how useful xm360 is for me. it's home brew i use to ftp serve so i can upload filmes to my xbox since FSD2.0 has many many bugs in ftp server department.
also i downloaded about 40gb of custom LIPS songs and some of them are duplicated, and guess what only way i can delete it and detect it faster is using XM360
since it's packed as DLC.
thank you so much for everything.
I only have one request, can u put a "one line log" ? Just to check out if e finished uploading files to console without going to PC. Is that possible please?

I don't know what that means...
-
for example, in FSD 2.0 when u are sending a file via FTP to console u can see in the bottom of FSD2.0 (in TV) the progress of upload.
Could u make this for XM360 too please?

Oh, now I get it...you want the status line to indicate when xm360 is "receiving" a file...I'll see if that fits in anywhere...

A much needed function for any app would be the ability to easily do a profile backup (Preferably something that can extract the gamertag) I reckon XM360 would be well suited to doing that given the other existing features etc..
Anyway just an idea that came to me yesterday after having to spend ages reading/writing hex to uncorrupt and unbann a couple of profiles only to find that two of the profiles had exactly the same hex ID with the exception of one byte in the middle! In my efforts to speed things along that I had acidentaly copied one over the other which caused no end of drama .. Anyway just an idea/suggestion. I still havent had time to have a proper look at the new one BUT:
I noticed on the earlier version when it was updated to reflect an unlock without rescan that it would still come up as locked on the next reboot (untill next rescan)

I tried really hard, at one point in time, to handle this (profile backups)...but I couldn't, under any circumstances, read (copy/backup) the currently logged in profile...and since that was likely to be the one you cared most about, I stopped working on it.
You'd have to be specific about what you unlocked that came back as locked until you did a rescan. I found and fixed one of those recently, so it could be gone.

i noticed u can't copy/backup your "logged in" profile. xbox360 just won't give you permission.
i tried to use FTP to copy my profile to PC, but it said "permission denied" everytime. Only worked when i logged off that profile or logged in using other profile.
BTW: Could u add auto-update function?

oh, i see
couldn't you use any trustful free webhost? if not, anyway, keep up goodwork and forget this request

great idea...but it would require a port of zlib, and then extensive work to the ftp server. then...assuming I actually wanted to take advantage of it in xm360, I'd need to write the client part as well. Just too many other things need doing before I'm going to get around to this...hopefully someone else ports this stuff to the 360 and makes it available for everyone...

I think most ppl would accept not using the profile/file in use as u can easy run xm360 without signing-in untill after doing all the profile management etc.. There doesn't seem a need to sign-in untill one boots a game in which case one may sign-in a few etc.. They ability just to do that stuff is huge as even without the ability to copy the signed-in GT (not even NXE will attempt moving a signed-in GT)
At any rate it is merely a suggestion, as it saves the hassle of using either a 3rd party app (none anywhere near stable 2 date) to extract/inject onto USBmu OR pulling apart a HDD to plug into PC etc.. I thought it worth a second mention. At any rate we are as always eternally gratefull for any support/development.

well i use ftp flashfxp to transfer from pc to xbox

xm360 transferred about 20gb in say 15mins for ftp that is impossible

Had a little time to take a look at the entries downloaded by the perl script and the .exe with the DLC. The perl script does download everything and has loads of duplicates. However, the .exe doesn't seem to download everything. I generated fresh .csv with both the perl and .exe.
Using Excel, I took a look at both files. I filtered out for unique content, and then compared the two files highlighting any duplicates so that the "missed" files would stand out. There were many entries not present in the .exe generated CSV such as:
Come Away With Me
Virtual Insanity
People Are People
etc...
I know that some songs are included in song packs, and some are standalone, but they should all carry unique IDs right? In any case, other content may be missed, but I only looked at one title. Is there something amiss?

Keep up the good work man! Id really like to see some future updates with avatar support. Other than that, this is a great, full fledged app! I just hope you have other projects going as well. Could the scene possibly see any emulators from you guys? I think you're one of the best dev teams out there right now, but did you ever consider doing other work, such as a web browser, or an emulator as mentioned above. Just something that is not as blatantly encouraging piracy as xm360. Nonetheless, its a great app and id be a hipocryte if I didn't say I've used it to get some free dlc.... it would be awesome to see what you can come up with in the future!

yes when i transfer box to box with xm360 its WAY faster than using fxp, obviously because when using a pc as the middle man it slows it down

Multi disk GOD games aren't handled correctly.
I.e. CastleVania LoS when ripping both disks to HDD, it only detects disk 1 (I assume you dont have a loop to check for others and just assume its 1 game per folder)

Its the same as a single disk GOD game, but theres 2 files and 2 folders.
the filename of the files match the name of the folders.
So basically its just the same as having 2 GOD games, but in the same folder.

It already does all of that. Hit "RB" when in the DLC scene to have it show you everything, instead of only what you have. Also, if you generate a report it will tell you what you have, what your missing, and what you have but wasn't found in the online scrape. And it will do this for every title for which you have at least one piece of DLC.

Having trouble scraping the DLC, Just recently it has started failing while retriving DLC info for H.A.W.X. 2.
doing nothing different, my server runs a batch every night, been working since 2.0a but I just noticed the error today as I rarly log into that box. batch just calls xm360server.exe /D
xm360server.exe /X works fine.
somethign that is weird is everything seems to be in order but H.A.W.X. 2 isnt scraped with the H's its actual just after TNA Impact. just thought it strange.
redownloaded and tryed on another computer with same issue. both 32 and 64 bit OS's
-
sorry site froze and I dubble posted. cant figure out how to delete this one.
-
Yep i'm having same problem. H.A.W.X 2 crashes the scrape.
I tried deleting my existing DLC_titles.csv (15/10/10) to see if it would still crash on a new scrape and it does.
I can confirm when I scrape for XBLA (XM360server.exe /X) it works as normal.
Hope this can be fixed

Version 2.0b is out with the "beta testers". If all goes well, I'll make a public release shortly.
Version 2.0b -- Oct 24th, 2010
* Fixed Server crashing on DLC update (missing data in the marketplace)
* Added Custom FTP command "FREE" which will dump the size/used/free for each mounted device
* Added status line information when remote ftp clients are connected, and transfering
Enjoy!

I currently show ~1600 songs in rock band 3 out of ~1900. xm360 seems to know nothing about rockband 2 as it shows no DLC for it yet there are tones of tracks. I have lots that show up as not in database but nothign mising even though I knwo I am missing some. as for rockband 1 I think I have everything but its hard to tell as alot of songs show in xm360 as "not Have" yet I do have and they work in rockband.
nothing in xm360 make sence for rockband DLC. everything else looks great. I know this is probubly not a priority as it only affects a small number of us collectors but I would love to see better rockband DLC support.
-
I think this boils down to: It's doing the best it can do.
The marketplace gives me a "title the DLC is for", and, for Rockband 2, for example...all of the IDs point back to Rockband. I haven't taken a look at it...but I suspect that is the issue you are seeing.

No, it doesn't. I looked at the code, and couldn't see why it wouldn't already support it. And, since I have no multi-disc GOD titles, I have no way to figure it out.
-
Might just be me, but the 2.0B stops showing status messages when running the Unlock DLC or Repair Filenames commands - it still writes the report, just no more messages. Also, for whatever reason it seems to ignore the xbla_excludes.csv, which worked fine up until the last version.
Free command works great though!
-
No change in the config. If i delete the file it will recreate it correctly and work until the program is reloaded again. The dlc exclude file still works fine -seems to only be the xbla one having issues.

I have a feature request, would it be possible to backup DLC on an external hard drive, so we can manage DLC between external, and internal hard drive?
Thanks!
DLC will never work on an external drive, so there's no reason to put it there. If you are just trying to have more space for your DLC and swap it onto your drive when you need it...that's the whole idea behind the server component. Works great, and I use it for that function all the time...

Sorry if I didn't make that clear, I understand that external DLC isn't possible as of yet, unless you format a drive through NXE, even then you are limited in space.
I was just thinking of a manager, which would allow you to transfer DLC from seperate hard drives to save space directly from the 360, as I have a large external hard drive connected at all times. It sounds like the server component will do just that with a PC. I will have to mess around with it later.
Once again, great work.

Yep...I've got my *entire* 360 collection on my homeserver. It is always on, and always running xm360server. Any of the 360s in my house can connect to it and pull whatever content they want in that moment. Then delete it when they are done to make space... Only limitation is the speed of the network (which is slower than a hard drive, obviously...)

Seems to have a problem with the Repair Filenames popup menu. It comes up with "Filenames repaired: 0" and after hitting OK or even Back it just comes up again and again. I'm not sure if it is doing this for every folder or file, but it has already been about 50 of them and the only way to stop is to
exit back to dash power down the system.

How hard would it end up being to have the outputted report files match the input files? I.e. - Since they go in as the .csv with UTF-8 formatting coming back out with the same formatting versus txt without UTF-8?
I'm sure there is a way to maybe match them up, but none that I have found due to the formatting differences like - [3D Ultra Minigolf] input = [3D Ultra" Minigolf]
-
QUOTE(node21 @ Nov 5 2010, 06:15 AM)

-node21
-
QUOTE(veekay @ Nov 5 2010, 07:35 PM)

I actually asked you about it before in PM's and you said it was trivial
I think aside from the UTF-8 issue the biggest thing would be no longer using the CSV format or at least using quotes around each entry or something aside from commas since any items that have commas in them end up being formatted incorrectly.
For example: [ACE COMBAT 6],2008/06/25,30,4.00,46,DARK, SHINING SET,874E20BCD6B5A2FAFC1EA424F7D28A8D30D44A7B4E
The title of the item "DARK, SHINING SET" gets split incorrectly due to the comma whereas being
"[ACE COMBAT 6]","2008/06/25","30","4.00","46","DARK, SHINING SET","874E20BCD6B5A2FAFC1EA424F7D28A8D30D44A7B4E"
would be formatted correctly
Yeah, but the number of requests I get are somewhat overwhelming...I probably just lost track of this one.
The problem with just putting everything in double quotes is that as soon as something actually has double quotes in the title, it will also break... But I'll probably change the format anyway.
-
That is probably true about the double quotes. Generally when I have to make anything in a CSV format I actually use | as the divider since nothing really ends up having that character in it - or if nothing else using ; for it.
-
Currently in beta testing:
Version 2.0d -- Nov 13th, 2010
* Fixed seemingly never ending message boxes that I broke in 2.0c
* Changed format of XBLA and DLC reports to include Utf8, and proper quoting
Hopefully this one goes smoothly so I can release it publicly.

Seems to work great so far - the new report format seems perfect.
The only thing I noticed was that the DLC_titles.csv was still the old format so it imports just the same with the comma errors. I'm not sure if that requires too much of a rewrite, but still a huge improvement with the output!
-

Yeah, I didn't touch the generators yet. What title gets imported wrong?
-
Anything with the commas in the title still. The main thing though is something else I had talked with you about before - since the report does not show titles/DLC that you have no items for it is still needed to import the DLC_titles file so that all the missing files can be seen in a spreadsheet/database.
-
Anyway for XM360 to display the media ID of GOD games? this would help with finding the correct title update to use

Hi node, Thanx again for continuing to develop XM360..
I've been very busy lately (haven't had much time to do app testing etc..)
I have struck a problem (I was wondering if anyone else had xperianced same) with Pinball FX2. It doesn't seem to behave as a normal Arcade game and wont boot once patched (I think the core game is meant to be free and al the 'tables' are sold in DLC packs) It could be something like the game-room situation?? Anyway I was wanting to float this and see what others have encountered (I heard rumors of a new XBLA type that used some sort of checks?? - Probably fiction but you never know ..)
IF in-fact it is just not working because it's already 'free' and the yaris patch somehow ruins the header - Then can we have a way of marking games 'Not To Be Patched' somehow? either GUI or config script. Sorry I didn't post this a couple of weeks ago but I've been on holidays.

This is a pretty timely bug report (if it ends up being true), since I planned to publicly release 2.0d tonight or tomorrow. I'd rather deal with issue before that happens.
-
I can try it tonight, but so far have had no issues with anything else.
Another possibility instead of rewriting the input code would be just having the report output everything, including files that have no DLC for them (Since the current reports don't show titles with no DLC) in the missing section.
-
Pinball FX2 works fine for me. I really don't Yaris anything anymore - I just run the unlock in XM360

Yeah, I was referring to how XM360 unlocks XBLA games.

OK, I'll play around with it more, I guess now that I think about it, it could perhaps be due to some form of data corruption somewhere,... Hmm(Although I was sure I covered all the bases ...) Are you guys using patched DLC?? (In a backup capacity of course :-)

Is there a 30 second timeout set for the FTP part?

Not entirely sure what you are asking...but ftp connections that are idle for 30 seconds (or something like that) *will* be terminated.

That was basically what I was asking. If there a way to change that in the settings anywhere or is it hardcoded?
-
hardcoded. what are you doing that makes you want to change this?

Hi Node,
Like Dan (a few posts up) I'm also having a problem with pinball fx2. It's showing as unlocked in xm360 but when i try to play on any of the tables they only allow trial game. Weird as I only use your program to unlock my content and have for some time now. It's the only one i've had problem with so far.
Not sure what the issue is

I don't know. I think the main xbla download is already "unlocked" (it's free). But the DLC is locked (since you can download trial versions of each table, and pay to unlock them.) This is very similar to the gameroom title in that it's the DLC that is locked... Sadly, like the gameroom, it's likely that this DLC doesn't follow the normal "yaris" pattern of unlocking, and, in that case, it will fall into the small bucket of stuff that just isn't handled by xm360.

Hi
Ok thanks for the heads up dude.
Another question I have is in relation to the generated XBLA & DLC reports. Is there any way to get the program to push them automatically to pc (In conjunction with XM360 Server running) as this would negate the need to ftp into the 360. I.e if i have server running and XM360 connected to it and then generate either an XBLA report or DLC report it would save it to the path i've set in the .ini as usual but would then also push it to my pc through the server facility. Or I can request to Fetch it.
Is this even possible ? I hope you understand what i'm trying to get across. Is this feature already there ? Maybe i've missed it
Anyway as always this is the most used program on my JTag by a million miles. Thanks for all your great work

Nothing more than wanting more idle time - I frequently get d/c'd while trying to do things, but I should be fine setting NOOP to 25 seconds - I just wasn't sure if it was hardcoded or not.

I know exactly what you are saying...as it's been on my to-do list for some time...
Right now I'm pretty busy with FreeStyleDash, but when I get back to xm360, this feature is likely going to be added first. There's one small issue with it...what should the filename be on the server? It can't be as simple as DLC_report.txt or something like that, since if you have multiple 360s, there's no way of knowing which one generated the report... What I'm thinking of doing is allowing you to "name" each 360 via it's IP address (this is already supported actually...it just knows not to list itself in the list of remote connections). Then, I could use the name in the filename...and, if the name isn't set, I can just use the IP address as the name and hope that your 360s have different IPs.

OK, I can no confirm 100% that my issue with Pinball FX is that it needs 126111 to run period (methinks some kinect capability)
Sorry about that/Dan

Either IP address or a name line in the config.
Also as far as the database goes, would it be possible to build the scraper update function into the actual program so running the updates wouldn't even require a PC? I guess it would be more of a how difficult since I'm sure it would be possible with everything you have already done.

Hi Node,
Today I encountered a bug which i've noticed once before. It may be my system but I thought i'd share with you in case you or somebody else has come across it.
I've transfered some DLC across using XM360 Server. As soon as it has finished i've left XM360 Server running on my PC in the background and have used 'Unlock DLC'. This has resulted in the program Hanging/Freezing for about 2 mins. As soon as I terminated XM360 Server on my PC XM360 sprung to life instantaneously telling me it had unlocked the files I was asking it to.
Like I say i've noticed this once before but just passed it off at the time but today it really caught my attention.
Wondered wether you've come across this. Probably nothing to worry about
Hope it helps

Hi Node
1. It was from the XM360 server to the 360.
2. 6 items of DLC for the same XBLA title. (Pinball FX2). I have about 130 Items of DLC.
I had just ran a repair filenames on the 6 DLC which came back with '0' corrected. I then clicked on unlock. I had the cursor on the actual title name so that only the 6 items of dlc were showing in the right hand pane.
I had forgotten to shutdown the XM360 Server on my PC at the time as when it had hung there for a few minutes I suddenly remembered it had happened before and leaned across and shut it down on my pc. Straight away XM360 blade popped up that it had unlocked 6 DLC successfully. I can run the DLC 'Tables' within Pinball FX2 flawlessly so XM360 did it's unlock job successfully.
It just struck me as odd so thought i'd bring it to your attention for a look. (On a side note i have Dash Launch 2.07 setup so as if my xbox has any problems it will reboot rather than freeze so I don't think it was some sort of conflict with that)
Hope the info helps

Any joy on getting the media id in there?
Fallout new vegas just came out and would be so much easier to get the media id without using abgx360
Yeah, I've got it working in my version. Or at least I think I do. Haven't really made sure that it's accurate yet.
What are you using the media ID for anyway? Is it just to fetch TitleUpdates? If so, have you considered using FSD?

When someone releases a dashlaunch plugin that will disable live completely, then maybe.
No point getting my keyvault banned for no reason.
This is really off-topic for this thread...but if you never plan to go on live, why do you care if you are banned?

Finally got a moment to work on xm360 after the 1.7 release of FSD went out...here's what it's currently looking like...I'm hoping to get it to beta testers this weekend.
2.0e
GOD packages will display their media Id (note that ISO2GOD didn't fill this correctly sometimes, newer versions should be fixed?)
Added OTHER_XBOX_FTP_AUTOCONNECT (tells XM360 to automatically connect to a remote instance (xm360_server) on startup.
Added UPLOAD_REPORTS (tells xm360 to automatically ftp generated reports to the connected remote instance's hdd1:, also works in conjunction with previous WRITE_REPORTS_ON_STARTUP feature if you are AUTOCONNECTing)
Added THIS_XBOX_NAME (will be appended to the filename of the uploaded reports if defined. useful if you upload from multiple 360s)
Fixed issue where connecting to a remote server more than once would cause some content to not appear
Changed to XLAUNCH_KEYWORD_DASH from XLAUNCH_KEYWORD_DEFAULT_APP when returning to the dash
Includes really nice icon created by BoXXDr, thanks!
I'm looking back over previous requests to see if I've missed something. If you know of something...please speak up. :-) Thanks

Hello everybody..
I just cant figure out how to scrape for new content with the xm360server.exe /X command!!
I want to scrape for new XBLA content by typing xm360server.exe /X
and by doing this, the program should create a new file (if none exists) called xbla_titles.csv but i just cant get it to create a new xbla_titles.csv file with the scraped information.. keeps telling me that it dosent exist, so it will create one.. but nothing shows up on my PC...
its this program im talking about:
Ive also tried starting up xm360server.exe and its looking for connections om ip: 192.168.0.199.. but how do i tell xm360 on my Xbox to connect at that ip?
Hope someone can answer my prayer..It's driving me nuts!!

It seems you are doing a few things wrong.
And both involve configuration.
In order for xm360server.exe /X to create the xbla_titles.csv file, it has to know where to put it...and it won't put it in the "current directory". You should open and read your .cfg file for the server. You probably haven't defined an hdd1: for it to put the file in. (The reason it needs this file to exist in a virtual 360 drive is so that it can automatically serve it up to the 360 that connects to it.)
To get the 360 to connect to the server, you also need to edit the configuration file on the 360. Go read xm360.cfg from the same directory that xm360.xex is sitting in on your 360. There's a section in that file where you define the "remote" boxes (which could be a server, or other 360s running xm360).
I'd give more precise answers, but I'm at work, and don't have access to my samples.
Good luck, and let me know if you are still stuck.
(a side note: still haven't released the most recent version that I spoke of up above...I've been working on the coolest thing since sliced bread in FSD that I'm trying to wrap up for a near future release...then I'll get back to xm360 again. [No, it's not a media player] )

Well, maybe it isn't quite as cool as sliced bread... Sliced bread is awfully cool.
The story is this: After finishing the work on the smb: (samba) client in FSD that allows your 360 to hop on your home network and browse network shares...it became obvious that the next step would be to allow your 360 to be an smb: (samba) server. This would allow (for example) two very cool things:
#1) if you have 2 360s, one could browse the other via samba allowing you to move content between the two in a pretty simple manner.
#2) all of these utilities that can unrar/ISO2GOD/etc. that use FTP to move the content to the 360 after they have finished their work no longer have to do that... you can simple map a network drive (say X:\) to be your 360...and drag and drop files to the 360 as if it were any other shared drive on your network.
That's the short story. And it works.
The longer version is that it isn't done yet. I've found at least one functional problem. And, after that is solved, there are probably others to be found. And, besides that, I haven't built all of the surrounding code that will let it have multiple simultaneous connections (may skip this for the first release), proper error handling (for now it terminates FSD when it encounters a network glitch), user authentication (360 shares are shared to anyone on your local network, will probably leave this for first release). So, there's real work to do.
However, once it's done, the nice part is that it is all in a library. Any other 360 app that wants these abilities can have and use the library. I have vague plans to build it into xm360 as well, for example, but FSD comes first.

Hi all.
Just got new Jtag all sorted with the help from the Cyborg Ravens guide now loads straight to latest FSD and works perfectly.
Currently trying to get xm360 2.0d to update the two CVS files but having major trouble with even getting the server to be seen
Been checking all the forum posts here as well as going over the two cfg files till my head hurts and still not working right.
Would like to enquire if it should work via a router to start?
PC - 192.168.1.7
Xbox (via dhcp) - 192.168.1.82
My data on HDD1 is a little different to some of the comments on the cfg
xm360 - hdd1:/apps/xm360
xbla games hdd1:/xbla
etc, for ease.
Added the xbox details to the xm360.cfg
Run xm360 server and stays at listening on 192.168.1.7.
Have tried normal FlashFXP to x360 and that it perfect.
Still new at this just can't seem to get this one right

So, it seems like the server is running.
Have you editted the xm360.cfg on the 360 to tell it about the server? If you've done that, you should be able to select "remote connection" on the first page of xm360, and from there, connect to the server.
Let's tackle that part first...then we can worry about getting the server to update the 2 csv files...
(yes, it will work fine through a router)

Thanks for the quick reply.
Been looking over the server part first from beginning (as you suggested, CVS later
) and for the life of me I could not see a part for telling where the server is then I saw it under:
## Configuration of other 360s to find looks like this. (Stupid me thought that was just for other consoles and not the PC server software)
So I added the PC details to the top section of that.
Ran xm360server.exe (without any /? yet) then loaded the console xm360 and choose Remote Connection and horray is shows the PC server, connects now it shows Get / Put / Both.
After that fun I decided to try the next part (keeping the CVS upto date).
Edited xm360.cfg to enable: (hopefully right)
EXTRA_XBLA_SEARCH_PATH = hdd1:\xbla
CONTENT_BIN_PATH = hdd1:\Apps\xm360
Then edited the xm360server.exe to define the xbox HDD1.
With the server window still open I opened another one this time with the /X command but some reason it wont find the hdd1 (I did test DEFINE_HDD1 = c:\1 which worked, but DEFINE_HDD1 = hdd1:\ or hdd1:\Apps\xm360 did not).
Copy of my current 2 cfg files.

Okay, so remote connection is working.
You didn't state whether or not the 360 can see actual remote content...I'll assume that it can't, for now, since it seems like you don't have the server configured properly.
Forget about xm360.cfg on the xbox. It knows nothing about xm360server. As far as the 360 is concerned, it is connecting to another xbox...It has no clue that your xm360server is actually a PC masquerading as a 360.
EXTRA_XBLA_SEARCH_PATH = hdd1:\xbla
This setting has nothing to do with what you are trying to accomplish. It's only for people that want to specify a specific alternate path for their XMBA content (maybe on a USB: drive, for example) Comment it out.
CONTENT_BIN_PATH = hdd1:\Apps\xm360
This settings just tells the 360 where to store it's "database" file, called content.bin. You can put it where-ever you want, or leave it commented out.
So, now that the client 360 can connect to the server. Let's get the server configured correctly. It's a PC. A PC that wants to pretend that it's a 360. So, the most important thing to do is tell the server what folder it should pretend is hdd1:.
So, you MUST do something like this:
DEFINE_HDD1 = c:\xbox_hdd1
in xm360server.cfg, and make sure that the directory exists.
That should be good enough to make it work. Try running it with /X and it should create a new xml file in that directory...and if you then connect to the server from the 360, it should automatically download that xml file.

Hi,
I have the following problem:
My entire collection is mirrored on a Networked attached storage which I have set up in XM360 to synch with my JTAG box.
However, due to poor naming of some DLC and/or truncated file names on the NAS and the synching feature of XM360, I ended up with a lot of duplicate XBLA and DLC Files. It was my fault, because I let XM360 restore the filenames and later on I FTPd some things myself which caused the duplicates.
Is it possible to sort out this mess with XM360 or any other app? I'd need something that deletes all duplicates on my Xbox360, renames the remaining files correctly and does the same thing on the NAS.
Thanks in advance and great App btw

@notrain, probably have a look at 360 Content Manager. Its a Windows application that kinda does what XM360 does on the Xbox, and I believe it includes renaming capabilities. Check it out here: http://www.xbox-scen...ZVlsJKULLBL.php

Hi there.
Following problem with Xm360. I have several dlc that appear in the report as missing
"Rock Band 2","MISSING","Full Song - ""Kiss Kiss Bang Bang""","D95A2C519E447316E63536637B69639F355B4B6645"
at the end of the report this missing dlc is listed as not matchable
"Rock Band 2","HAVE_BUT_NOT_IN_DB","""Kiss Kiss Bang Bang""","Hdd1:\Content\0000000000000000\45410869\00000002\D95A2C519E447316E63536637B69639F355B4B6645"
Someone has a solution to this or can explain to me why this occurs?
