Thanks, all you freeware devs out there.

frito
yeah thanks guys
Nice, thanks for the update!
Very nice, thanks to all involved
Just tried this out and its working pretty good.
Few quick things though:
-Is it possible to get full screen on gameboy/gameboy color games? Right now there is a large border around them.
-Any chance you could make customizable controls?
-Would it be possible to make a setting to remove the frame rate percent and other status updates?
-Also support for compressed roms would be awesome too!
Other than that its a pretty awesome emulator! Thanks for the release!!!

1: Yeah bro should be no problem. I should be releasing a quick update soon to add support back to different languages and I'll try to throw that in.
2: Customizable controls is possible, just depends on exactly what you want to be able to change.
3: Yep. Refer to #1
4: I'll look into this but my main goal now that XeBoy is stable is to move on to N64 emulation.
Love me some Pokemon!

Awesome! Thanks for the reply, looking forward to the update.
And N64 emulation!?!? Nice, that would be so cool.
This is a very good update! CHEERS
N64 would be very cool - GoldenEye 64 anyone?
Thanks Xelove, looking foward to see some good n64 emu
.
But one thing, in order to have a proper final gba emu, I think that it´s very important to support compressed roms, roms in subfolders, full screen and screen filters
Telling you this as a matter of feedback you know. Keep up the good work!
First off congrats on nearly finishing this emu out by scratch no less. You are the first team to do so and my hats off to you guys. I will have to agree with previous post. Full screen and filters are standards for any emulation. Once those have been implemented then it can truly be finished.
Also another congrats are in order for the n64 nfo. That has earned you my full attention and my donations
good stuff... thank you
Great upate, I like the new skin and support of GB and GBC is highly welcome
One question, how does the boxart support work, where do I have to copy the images to and which format and resolution should I use?
Would it be possible in a future release that the emulator automatically uses screenshots as a preview, I did like that in many Xbox 1 emulators?
yea thankyou very much for all the hardwork
I too would like to know how the box art thing works
Awesome! Now that this one is out of the way... perhaps an update to dosbox??

Agreed, definitely plan on donating a little as well to support your homebrew efforts.
edit: just tried to donate a little but wouldnt let me. Said you were unable to receive money on paypal right now.
i dont understand how to input cheats can someone help me?
Does this emulator support 7z compressed Roms? If not, that would be my sole feature request. Thanks guys!!

Single packed ROMs shouldn't be hard, not sure about multipack though.. I'll look into it after I release Love64.

N64! I can't wait for N64 goodness on Xbox 360 with 720p/1080p support with anti-aliasing and hopefully the widescreen hacks that are on the PC versions
Anyway, I really like this GB/GBC/GBA emulator but as others have said, compressed rom support (zip, rar or 7z) would be great!

N64 emulation on the Xbox360 opens up a lot of possibilities and I honestly can't wait to get it up and running just so I can play around with advance pixel shaders, anti-aliasing, and other graphic effects. Push the 360 to it's limits ;D XeBoy was one of my first true projects for the Xbox360 and it's time for me to focus on other projects. I do plan to keep it updated though.
There's an example, sorry I don't have time to step you through it =/
thats alright just maybe someone else could help me because the example doesnt really explain much
your are very talented thanks, looking forward to all your projects
Sweet. Ill definetly throw ya a few bones once you get your blogged updated.
Like many people have said it would be awesome if you could implement .zip support. The gameboy and gameboy color games arnt too bad in size. But some of the gameboy andvance games are pretty big and are cut down quite a bit in size when compressed (sometimes over half in size!) I think regular .zip would be the best because it is implemented in windows (no need to download 3rd party software for most) and seems to be the most common compression for roms.
So when you mean implementing new features now does that mean in the next week or two or like in the next day or too? Either way greatly looking forward to it!
just tried it but i have some problems...
i can select in the main menu which games should be listed (gba, gb...) but all my games (gb, gbc, gba)get all listed under the gba tab. Also when i tried to start a gb game the xbox crashed at a black screen.
And finally the main menu (not ingame menu) seems kinda slow and not very smooth.
i know this is still beta but i just wanted to report
Anyway its great that these emus get improved and i really like the new menu.
Great work!
Hey also is there any way you could make the default romlist "All Roms" and not "GBA Roms" and is there a reason why the games are listed in Z-A order and not A-Z maybe thats a bug. If not I think people would prefer if the roms were listed A-Z in order.
Sorry I feel like Im making a lot of suggestion. If you dont like them please let me know. Just trying to put in some input to help make this emulator the best it can be. I really think its close to being perfect.
Super amazed out how well nearly every single game is running! Great job Team Xelove! Only small issue I have found is Ive noticed when using a large amount of roms, it can take 2-3 min to load everything in. In the meantime everything is very sluggish. It speeds up a bit after its done, but going in and out of roms and back to main menu causes it to search again and seems to really slow everything down to a crawl.

I'll make that the default and add it to the settings in 0.5 ;D Nah bro, I love suggestions.

I'll try to sort this out once I get a larger set of ROMs. I'm currently on a limited internet connection so it might be awhile.

I'm having the exact same problem ..... I used complete romsets of GB , GBC and GBA and it took around 3-4 hours to list every game for the first read on my 1TB External HDD. Once it had loaded the full list i played one game and exited to menu. I tried to reload the Emulator and no roms show up .... I left it for 10 - 15 mins but still nothing just a blank list.
So i decided to make 3 copies of the emulator and fill one with GB , one with GBC and one with GBA, It still took around 1hour or more to read all of the roms and still crashed after playing 1 game.
On the previous version of XeBoyAdvance it worked perfectly with a GBA complete set but this new version always crashes after using a very large set.
The Emulator was trying to list 10,000 files
GB = 4242 Files
GBC = 3688 Files
GBA = 2808 Files
If i just throw 10 games in the folder it works fine and instantly lists all 10 games.
So if you could add support for faster reading of the drive of large sets i would be very happy.
I played 3 worlds of Super Mario Land and loved it .... Keep up the good work.

Thankyou for the reply .... Check your PM's
One other issue i found when using large rom sets is that some games have very long file names.
This causes a issue if you are trying to play a specific modded version of the game you cannot see the details of the rom because it is at the end of file name and the window for displaying the rom list is small.
Here is a quick example of the long file names that would not fit in the small romlist window.
CODE
http://i40.tinypic.com/27zbsee.jpg
as you can see in the picture the important info is at the end of each file.
I know nothing about programming for the 360 so i do not know the limits but perhaps you could make it so when you highlight a rom it displays the full name so we can see the details at the end of the file. It would save me from renaming 10,000 files lol
I assume the main issue when using complete romsets is that it is having a hard time trying to create and sort the the large XML list for 10,000 files.
I'm guessing that on the previous version of XeBoy ( GBA Only version ) it did not create this XML list and that is why the complete GBA romset worked well. Maybe it would be possible to just sort the files in sub folders ourselves without creating the XML list.
Example : We have the ROMS folder and inside that folder is 3 other folders , One for GBA Roms , one for GBC Roms and One for GB Roms so that they can be linked to each of the windows. Then only create a XML for a favorites lists.
Like i said earlier i know nothing about 360 programming so i'm just throwing some ideas your way which may or may not help. lol
Good luck and i will be following your posts and looking out for the next update.
I'm especially looking forward to Love64 ... My 4 YO son loves Mario64 and to play it on the 360 would make him very happy.
Keep up the good work.
Anyone have any luck getting it to load the game list faster, or it creating a cache for the games to where it doesn't have to load every time?
