This version does put GODs in Games Section and XBLA in XBLA section.
make sure you delete your old hdd1 or usb0:\\fsdata\\content.xml and \\config.xml
Or else your gods will list in XBLA due to old .xml files.
This happened to me, but fixed it by deleting these files and letting new dash rescan everything.
Note: We might need a fixed FSD Indexer, as the current Indexer will not pick up any of the GODs in new generated content.xml
To enable my boxarts I had to replace all <boxart='0'> to <boxart='1'> manually in content.xml to reenable them back.

nup the xex has the new code in it and to display them you need the new skin files to show them so basically you need the hole thing.

I had an idea, I was thinking since Freestyle is now open source, could someone edit the "Homebrew" tab to read "Movie's", Well i could do it but i have no idea which file in the code contains the code for the text "Homebrew" ?
Does anyone know ?

What about the people that actually use the homebrew tab.... It would make more sense to add a tab instead of replacing one.

True, I thought of that but i would'nt be able to do that because i would need to make it so when u go to the right/left it will slide across and show the "Movies" Tab kind like on nxe, Im not THAT good lol....
I was only going to edit this for myself but i mean if other were intreased i could post it up here, I also have a cool skin that i made to go with it and i can include xex menu 1.1 with a cool skin i have made for that and cool boxart.
So again to just clear up, does anyone know which file is the one to edit the text "Homebrew" ? I can edit the images myself.

Thanks, I did'nt even bother editing it becuase i tried adding a move into the Homebrew folder just to see if i could play it dosent show up. Someone should code it so movies show up and when u click play it launches in the nxe dash player....

They are not saveable cause protected by silverlight. Or is there a Way around Silverlight to save the graphics?

I think this is the right one to keep working on. I'm not the best dev in the world -- I'm more an electrical / hardware engineer, but I'm looking into learning some coding and hopefully can help out in the future once I've got some better bearings. XeXMenu team seems to be doing a good job too -- thanks to them for their hard work and free releases -- but I really think open source is the way to go here and our best bet for the future -- especially considering JTAG can only be done on older consoles so our resources on personnel are limited in interest.
Maybe we can find a new way to JTAG but I'm not going to expect it anytime soon. If not, I think open source is the only way to survive.
One last thing... Any chance you guys could get some official Freestyle forums going where people can post skins and tutorials and whatnot? Maybe an IRC chat would be great too -- I wouldn't mind Idle'ing in it. If this stuff already exists my apologies -- could someone lead me in the right direction? My primary job personally is online marketing for a fortune 500 company -- trust me these things will go a long way. I'd like to help build a community for the future of all these projects; to keep them sustained and properly going for a while to come if we're to not find a way to jtag for a very long time. I believe things will eventually stagnate without a proper communication hub and infrastructure if we're unable to JTAG or exploit modern consoles for quite some time to come.
It'd be REALLY nice if one of the admins on this forum would allow some sub-sections for us to use on xbox-scene. Of course would have to follow the rules but I don't think we'd be breaking anything that would piss anyone off.

I am hoping once we work out an official release to 10.0 that we can get the skinners to update. There is still a lot of changes going on with the menus right now.

i went to the google source code page and downloaded the zip.
i unzipped it and placed the freestyle folder at the root of the hd.
what i would like to do is boot from the cd image and then have it index the games on the thumb drive i have plugged in.
so i plugged in the thumb drive into the xbox.
but i'm not seeing where i download the iso if i want to boot from the cd?
did i miss that on the page?
and is it as simple as running the cd in the xbox and it will scan the hard drive and record the games to the thumb drive. then i run the indexer on the computer (thumb drive) to get the artwork?
sorry for so many questions. just stuck and would like to get this to work!

i do have the iso from the 1.08 thread now - but how am i to update with the version from the google code page? since it's running from a cd?
and the only reason i thought i needed to run the thumb drive was so that i could index the games? since i don't have ftp or internet access to the xbox.
so i'm not sure what you meant about that folder structure on the thumb drive?

Example:

After, let Freestyle scan again, and you'll have both games visible and launchable, this doesn't affect NXE and yes, the game will boot fine.
As for the artwork and previews, you have to make that new folder in the artwork folder and manually add your boxart, preview, etc, etc. Edit content.xml, find the title of this game and change the image folder path to the newone that ends with FF.

FTP should be as good as XeXMenu now. I didn't do much in that department. That was Node21 and HellDoc primarily. There are quite a few people working on this now.

You delete the freestyle folder? Did you clean up the FSData folder? If not it may be having difficulties with the FSData folder on your drive. Run the indexer bundled with the package it should resolve it.

for those who are having probs with the latest release, im not having any
the only prob im having is the day on the day/time is getting cut off
suggestions -
- "Unplayed" category , like that of the favorites category
- indexer gets info for japanese games (from CyberSnuff, page 2)
- background images load faster so as not to cause a delay when scrolling through games
keep up the good work!!!!

then go back to content.xml and edit it for what ever art work you added.
if it says 0 change it to 1. if you have screen shots change 0 to however many you added.

Under which directory should I put them in? I've tried multiple directories for the GOD's, I can't get it to work. I *think* under one of the directories I put a GOD in, it was seen, but would not play. The ones I'm trying do play from the hdd fine, just can't figure out where to put them on the USB.

Where are the other skins? I'm about to modify the existing one because the default one is very tacky. But if there are others that will work, I surely want to try them.
