LoveMHz of XeLove released OpenJazz360, based off of the OpenJazz project:
Quote

About:
Jazz Jackrabbit is a platform game produced by Epic MegaGames. The game features six episodes; each episode consists of three worlds, with two levels and a boss level. Jazz has a life bar; when enemies shoot or come in contact with him, he loses health that must be replenished by collecting carrots. If his health falls to zero, Jazz turns to ash and the level restarts from the last checkpoint. Also, instead of jumping on enemies Jazz must shoot his enemies with a blue gun he always carries. A variety of different bullet types can be found in the game and do varying amounts of damage.

Instal:
Run like any other XEX on your 360. The shareware files are included. If you own the full game simply copy the files into the OpenJazz360 folder.

This is homebrew but it is lacking. Jazz Jackrabbit is an OLD game. Emulators are the true test of REAL homebrew successes. We need a N64 emulator. Once Goldeneye is out then it will be amazing!

Hey don't knock Jazz Jackrabbit! Emulators play OLD games anyway, so the difference is only in quantity, not quality here. Consider that the game has its own open source engine developed away from Epic Megagames. That is a testament to just how great a game it was and still is. IF SMB wasn't such a great game, we wouldn't still be playing it.. which reminds me, I need to dust off my old copy of SMB and play it through again... but not before I get me some Jazz smile.gif

I don't see the source code anywhere. Is it available? If not, will it be?

I really can't understand why people keep GPL sources private and don't share them to let the scene grow...

Oh man I hated this game. It makes you move so fast yet you still have to stop and shoot at enemies or they'll damage you. Bad ripoff of Sonic the hedgehog.

Great work!

Too bad i have to report two bugs i´m running into:

The resolution is off for me (running 720p through VGA)

I have no audio (RCA audio and optical)

Here is a picture that shows the resolution:

If that's true, then I can see Nexuiz being worthwhile. Heck, we might be able to have private servers....Keep in mind I have no programming experience and have no idea of limitations the 360 presents. Just an idea:)

Wow - unexpected and appreciated.  Thanks!  This brings back memories of the good ol' DOS days, and having a whopping 40MB hard drive and an actual soundblaster card configured just right. smile.gif

Hey guys, thanks for the support. Sorry for the HD and audio bugs. The HD bug was completely unknown as I debug on my computer via my capture card. Thanks for pointing this out Jbonzo.

I'll be releasing an update soon. By the way. OpenJazz360 is using my own port of SDL(OpenJazz360 was released the day before lantus release libSDL), but thanks to lantus and his work I'll be able to get audio working really quickly.
