XM360 v0.7 *Update v0.8*Posted by XanTium | February 11 11:31 EST | News Category: Xbox360 |
| |
Team XeDev released a new version of XM360.
What's new/fixed (since v0.6b): * Further massive rewrites :-) * Automatically scan on launch, showing progress * That ugly fixed-width font is gone, except where needed (the XBLA Collection Manager list) * Support for DLC "Collection Management" - it's integrated into the "Show DLC" scene. Be sure to use LB and RB to change views. Note there are *lot's* of missed matches, mostly because what is *inside* the DLC files doesn't match what is on the marketplace web site. Because of this, there is also the ablity to show content which you have, but wasn't scraped from the web site. * There is a button to write the DLC report. It takes a while, and only includes information on DLC for which you have at least one title. * Like scraping for XBLA, there is an included scrapeMS_DLC.pl perl script. It takes a very long time to complete. You shouldn't need it often. XM360 will search for a file called DLC_titles.csv before using the one included in the package. * There's a button to generate the XBLA_report.txt instead of doing it all the time. * Entirely new support for Title Updates. Including the ability to Delete them. * Support for deleteing XBLA titles. * Support for deleteing DLC titles.
*Update* v0.8 has been released. What's new/fixed: * Added support for a "backup" Cache folder. (hdd:\Cache2) Ability to see where your Title Updates are, and to restore from Cache2. * Sorted initial screen by title. * Added some special handling for Super Contra.

Dy-NO-MITE!!!! Thanks for the update! Great app!

Cool! Looking forward to trying this when I get home.
Anybody that has an exploitable console but hasn't JTAGed it yet. What the hell are you playing at?
-
I work too fast nowadays. :-)
version 0.8 out as well:
Version 0.8 -- Feb 11th, 2010
* Added support for a "backup" Cache folder. (hdd:\Cache2) Ability to see where your Title Updates are, and to restore from Cache2.
* Sorted initial screen by title.
* Added some special handling for Super Contra.

Great work as always node21!
Slight problem for me however. I've got all this DLC and whenever I try the unlock feature on it, it completely locks up the 360 and I have to do a hard reboot.
Also, the DLC doesn't allow me to delete anything UNLESS it has either a lock/unlock icon next to it.
I have a ton of DLC that's showing up without any sort of icon.
Hope this helps with bug handling.
Cheers mate!

Well, the lockup is bad. If you can catch me on irc, I can get you a debug build and try to work through it...
However, the DLC that doesn't have a lock (either closed or opened) is DLC that you *do not have*. So, of course you can't delete it! Toggle with RB to see only content that you have, and content that you have but didn't match the marketplace.

I just came back to let you know I figured out the whole 'not having locks' issue. Totally my own fault, sorry about that.
Also, the only time I can get it to lockup is when I tell it to unlock the DLC and it's trying to unlock everything, including the stuff I don't have.
When I unlock the DLC I do have, no problems at all.
So, I suppose in summary, it's my own fault.
Thanks for the reply, and for releasing 0.8!

where to get the 0.8? I don't see it in the usual places
-
Forgive my ignorance here, but what exactly is the point of this program? Just categorizing dlc that has already been downloaded on another virgin box? If so, why does it need to list every dlc for every game?
-
I have a question as well. Where do I put the LIVE version? what path?

The DLC scene is a combination of all known DLC that exists (as scraped from the marketplace), and all DLC found on your hdd:. As such, you can switch the views to show what you have, what you are missing, and what you have but doesn't appear to exist (since it wasn't scraped from the marketplace). This is paralleled by the "Collection Manager" for XBLA which also shows you all known titles combined with the titles found on your hdd:.

That sucks. Not sure what could cause that, especially since it seems to work fine for so many others. If you find me on IRC, I can get you a debug build to try to find out what is going on. You aren't using the "LIVE" version, are you? Since I didn't build it, I can't really support it.
-
i get a lockup on "unlocking" dlc too. Works fine in 06.b BUT..... the only difference when i do the last version and 0.7 is i put 0.7 on the hd and when i use 0.6b it's on a usb drive. Can that be the problem. 0.7 works fine for arcade games but ALWAYS freezes when trying to unlock dlc

Well, didn't know it wasn't your build node21.
I got a direct link to direct download from a friend of mine. Dunno where he found it.
Anyways, the filename is "C0DE999900000012" so I assume it will go to a folder 00000012. Havn't checked yet.
Just out of curiosity node, is there any reason you won't release a LIVE version?

XM360 is getting better and better...
I see Super Contra is finally not a problem anymore... what was the trick?
I'm experiencing the "Show DLC" freeze as well, do you think it might have something to do with the CSV file's attributes?
-
No I'm not using the LIVE Version, I got the XEX Version from that "Usual Place".

Hard Locks my 360 with the show dlc button (got to power it down with the ring of light)
Might this be down to haveg a lot of DLC?
290 XBLA, 407 DLC, 8 TU

About the freezing issue: node21 once told me the first action performed when opening the "Show DLC" view is to read the DLC CSV file. I noticed that line endings in the DLC file are Unix-like, while in the XBLA file they're DOS-like. It's a long shot, but I think it's worth checking whether converting the DLC file to DOS will make a difference. If anyone has a chance to do so before I do this evening, please report on the outcome. Most advanced text editors have a function to convert between DOS and Unix formatting, there's also a tool in Unix-like environments called unix2dos and this should be the equivalent for Windows: Unix2DOS

Ok i have a legit 360 for Live and a Jtagged offline machine.
I have an Ext. HDD for games and use my 360 HDD between both consoles for saves, profiles, etc...
Can I use this to remove the drm on legit dlc i've bought off xbox live so I can use it on my Jtagged Xbox?
If so will it still be safe to use on Live (On legit 360?)

Interesting observation. I'm not sure how that happened. Maybe a difference between running perl from cmd prompt versus running perl from cygwin prompt? Anyway...I run the exact same thing that get's uploaded (in fact, I create the zip right off of my memory stick after pulling it out of the 360). So, these problems that people are having must be related to something that is on their 360 (and not on mine, or many others). Hopefully, someone with this problem will catch me on IRC when we both have time to work through it. I'd really like to get to the bottom of this hanging issue. Actually, there seems to be 2 different issues: the inability to get to the Show DLC scene at all, and the inability to unlock DLC.

If you "unlock" your DLC it will no longer work on a non-jtag box.

Ok, I just got home and tried XM360 with a DLC CSV having DOS-like line endings, and it didn't freeze. It seems I was up to something.
You can force DOS-like line endings by changing the perl script line printing to screen (that would be 64 for DLC and 60 for XBLA) to end with "\r\n" instead of just "\n".
CODE
#Unix print "[$Ctitle],$newDate,$rating,$rating_perc,$raters,$title\n";
#DOS print "[$Ctitle],$newDate,$rating,$rating_perc,$raters,$title\r\n";
I still don't get how this could work for some and not for others...
-
Not so easy, it seems. I have exactly one CSV file which doesn't make the application freeze, and it doesn't matter whether its line endings are Unix-like or DOS-like. Incidentally, though, it was created on a system which doesn't seem to correctly handle UTF-8, so symbols like the trademark or the umlaut are broken:
CODE
Brütal Legend Pack
and
[Army of Twoâ¢]
instead of
Brütal Legend Pack
and
[Army of Two]
so right now I'm inclined to think the problem resides in character encoding rather than in line endings. Still not sure and still don't know why it works for some people.

Okay, so now we're getting somewhere. It shouldn't have to do with the line endings since I'm using code that reads a line at a time and I'm pretty sure that it must know how to deal with either type of line ending...
But, is it possible that those who are having problems have run the scraping script themselves, or that they have left a file with the right (wrong?) filename on the root of one of their devices and it is being picked up instead of the one that I include in the zip?
You have to be consistent when you *display* these files. Very few applications seem to deal with the UTF-8 encoding properly...so, even though the file may be correct, the app you are using to look at it may display it wrong.
Here's another thought...is it possible that the users who are having problems have their 360 set-up to use a different language/region/encoding as the default? I'm using a system call to map the string from the csv to a wide character for display, and that system call knows about utf-8...but maybe it's also aware of the 360's region and is failing in some cases?
-
Some qualified feedback would be very useful. Personally I suspect not too many people run the script themselves, since it requires a Perl environment, but... who knows?
I have a PAL console set to the English language, anyway. Now let me check that "file left in the root of a device" thing...
-
Last post for tonight: it really seems the problem is in character encoding: I took the first few lines from the bundled DLC CSV file, which don't contain "suspicious" characters, and the app didn't freeze.
In related news, some names are corrupted in the XBLA CSV file, apparently a trailing "A" is appended to title names, as in:
CODE
58410841,2007/04/18,14,5020,3D Ultraa Minigolf
5841091d,2008/08/13,13,8082,FableA II Pub Games
58410968,2009/04/15,16,3106,OutRuna Online Arcade
Weird.

If you go to favourite games (LB) and hit Y (genre) and have no items as favourite, it locks up.
Also when running for the first time, it says i have an option to pick usb or hard drive and instead it doesnt give me any option at all. It picks USB automatically

Is this happening to anyone else?

I think you are confusing XM360 with Freestyle dash?

Anyway:
Version 0.8b -- Feb 13th, 2010
* fixed bug where Japanese DLC would prevent DLC scene from working (causing a 360 hang)
Not yet in the usual places...but it's also in the same place that 0.7 and 0.8 were.

From my experience, I can confirm that the DLC freezing issue is fixed!
-
Version 0.8c -- Feb 13th, 2010
* fixed bug where launching XBLA from the first screen would launch wrong title
* fixed scraper for XBLA to include UTF-8 encoded text. This makes them look nicer in xm360, and gets rid of the trailing "a" that was on some titles.

Brilliant.
Now we only need a way to help the app match DLC correctly. If a public database isn't a viable option, maybe for each the app could show the "missing" and "have, couldn't match" lists together and allow the user to manually match them, saving the choice in a local file which the app would then parse every time it runs.
-

Sounds like a decent Idea, should help with non USA titles too
-
i like the idea of having the dlc listed even if we don't have it but unless we can somehow download it via xbox there isn't much need for it to be there just clogs up the list,

Version 0.9 -- Feb 15th, 2010
* introduced a "config" file where directory preferences can be set. By default, xm360 looks for hdd:\config\xm360\xm360.cfg. If it can't find that, it uses the one included with xm360. See the contents of that file for more information.
* Some visual changes that include the use of icons to represent missing and ignored titles. This frees up some screen UI as well.
* Some button changes so that they are consistent between the DLC and the XBLA Collection mgmt screen.
* Delete and Toggle Ignore are both on the X button now. It will make sense as you start to use it.
* DLC collection management is quite a bit more useful now. It no longer seperates "existing" content and content that was found but not "matched". Furthermore, with the addition of the ability to "ignore" DLC content, you can now begin to clean up the discrepancies. If you use LB to show titles for which you have some DLC, and then move to the rightmost list, you can see content that you have that didn't match. If you then tell it to "ignore" the version that you don't have (because you really do), the list gets cleaner and cleaner.
* Added a message when the reports are finished being written

Included in the zip file is a file called scrape_MS.pl.
There are also instructions for running it in the README.
There is also one for scraping DLC, but it takes MUCH longer...
That being said...I'll probably release another version this weekend and I'll be sure to include a new scrape. New version will be a very very minor update...I haven't had much time, nor inspiration since it seems to be working fine as is.

Version 1.0 -- Feb 19th, 2010
* For DLC titles that you have, the text at the bottom of the screen will indicate "Not Scraped" for titles that you have but couldn't be matched with the marketplace website. This is usually an indication that you should find the one from the marketplace and mark it as "ignore."
* The default view for the DLC scene (when it first shows up) is now titles for which you have some DLC (makes more sense to start there)
* The <All> setting in the DLC scene now works correctly. It used to always show everything instead of paying attention to the filter.
* You now have the ability to "Ignore" entire titles. So, if you never plan to have any "Lips" DLC, then mark "Lips" as ignored. This allows you to clean up the view of all existing DLC, if you care to do so. This concept carries over the the report that you can output as well. An ignored title will have none of it's DLC reported, but the title itself will be reported at the end where it reports on titles that are ignored. Makes sense?
* Title Update scene allows you to backup all TU files to hdd:\Cache2 (the reverse of the already implemented Restore)
* Title Update scene allows you to backup/restore single TU files
* Added temperature display to all scenes
-

So, the right thing to do is to add those manually to your xbla_titles.csv...If this continues to be a problem, I'll have to start adding these manually to the scraper. fun.

So, the right thing to do is to add those manually to your xbla_titles.csv...If this continues to be a problem, I'll have to start adding these manually to the scraper. fun.

How about creating a masterlist, including all know de-listed games, with new scrapes adding new entrys not already in the existing list? (maybe add games from other regions too, to give a definitive list) ?

+1 on that
A definite list would be really good, especially since some downloads are removed from XBL.

This is a great app, but how do you adjust the screen size, I'm using a non-HDTV and the screen is too big to see fully and read text.

What version are you running? XM360 has supported all screen resolutions for quite some time now...but the first 3 or 4 releases only supported HD resolutions.

Not sure what to tell you...sounds like an overscan issue. It's been tested down to 640x480p (maybe 480i just doesn't fit).

I haven't see this problem. Uno unlocks for me. If you could put the file somewhere, and PM me, I could take a look at it and see if there is anything obvious.

hmmmm this morning I did a scrape of xbla titles.
The resulting csv file was 276 entries.
Now....I've just heard that the Fret Nice game is out, which wasn't on this mornings list......so I rescraped.
Fret Nice is now listed (along with whatever else presumably came out today).....BUT the csv file is still 276 entries.....sooooo what has been lost :-S
-
from what I can see so far.....
Lazy Raiders
Fret Nice
have been added
It looks like on the morning list, Missile Command was on twice and so was MLB Stickball - so maybe that was the reason? Why would they be on twice?
Will look through rest of list after eaten
hmmm after looking through rest cannot see any other discrepancies - so buggered if I know why them 2 had duplicated twice on the morning list
-
This page:
http://marketplace.x...mes/default.htm
Shows the most recently added games at the bottom:
Lazy Raiders
Fret Nice
Greed Corp
Winterbottom
I don't know why you ended up with duplicates (I blame Microsoft
), but they shouldn't hurt XM360 (AFAIK). I should try that just to make sure...
I'll probably release a v1.01 sometime soon. No major changes. I did put an ftp server in though. I found myself exiting, running xexmenu, ftping, and then running XM360 again. This should solve that. I haven't added the ability to "rescan" yet...but I don't think I'd release without that feature. With the ftp server you'll be able to generate a report in XM360, fetch it via ftp, fill in some holes via ftp, rescan to confirm it worked, and be done with it. Or, at least that's the plan.

I have a tv maybe 6 years old, I don't know if overscan is from the tv or xbox, but I think the width is what gets cut off.

Yess!
thx for the FTP node21, I think it will be really useful, also perhaps easier for us to update the CSV.
I was also thinking about a feature which would remove empty directories from the HDD. When I delete a game from NXE, the directory stays there, so basically when I browse my HDD it's a mess, yet half of the dirs I see are empty, cause I no longer have that game/dlc. What do you think about it?
Best regards!

Hmm, I hadn't considered the fact that you may also want to rescan the xbla_titles.csv in addition to your own HDD. I'll have to add that, as it takes almost no time at all, and could be useful.
I actually started to write the code to remove empty directories when I added the ability to delete DLC. I abandoned the idea though since it wasn't clear that the user would *always* want that sort of thing... I think the code is still around and unused, or commented out...so there's at least a start of something along those lines. Not sure it makes sense to always do it though...Maybe a separate feature?
-
AFAIK and based on my own observation, no files are left in the dirs after deleting a DLC from NXE.
I'm thinking of any negative implication of such operation, but don't see any (appart that someone may want to leave a empty dir on his/hers HDD on purpose)
None the less I think that option can be implemented as a separate feature for the sake of safety - e.g. REMOVE EMPTY DLC DIRS.

I need to thank you for this bug report, and the follow-up. As it turns out, there was a bug...and I'm very happy to have had this example to prove it, and expose it. It was a trivial solution, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it also explains the long standing issue with Supra Contra for which I had put a workaround into the code. I think I can probably remove that workaround now.
Expect the fix in 1.1 due out this weekend.

I lied. It's out now.
Version 1.1 -- Feb 26th, 2010
* Added ftp server, and because of that, a new button to "Rescan". Also, your 360's IP address is displayed on screen.
* Fixed long standing issue where some titles weren't unlocking, and some weren't being scanned properly. It had only minor impact though, so you might not have been aware of it.
* Added feature to "restore" DLC filenames. As it turns out, some people are somehow getting DLC which has been renamed. This feature will correct the filenames on the HDD. However, it also seems that some of this DLC is being modified in order to "tag" it, or to "claim" it. For example: some complete asshole calling himself "DragonSlayer" is releasing DLC and embedding "ripped by DragonSlayer" inside the DLC. He is also taking the liberty to change the area of the DLC which indicates what title the DLC is "for". This completely hoses xm360 which expects DLC to be intact. So, if you are exposing yourself to these DLC files, be prepared for XM360 to not be able to display your DLC correctly...and don't report it as a bug. Be aware, that this feature can take some real time as it has to open each and every DLC to figure out what it's name *should* be.

nice stuff thanks again node21.
About the DLC, its great that it means that it will sort out by renaming files correctly. I've seen some plonkers and groups (not on my 360 of course
) rename their dlc with their groupname in the filename....so then would make harder to know if have duplicates or not.
About the DLC though, I thought I read somewhere that supposedly the filename is random generated? And that was why it wouldnt matter what the actual dlc was named in the folder. If thats the case, then presumably everyone who has DLC xxx would have a different filename for that...so how do you determine its the correct name? I guess what I read was wrong then and that they are name specific
.
But all in all, something that was greatly needed to help clean up some mess in the folders

The "correct" filename of DLC files is 21 bytes long.
As I understand it, the first 20 bytes are the SHA-1 hash of the actual title name. The 21st byte is the first byte of the titleId.
The 20 bytes are at position 0x32c in the DLC file. And the titleId is at 0x360.

I actually code C# web sites as my main job and was wondering if the source code was out for this or if you could send pm it to me if you dont mind. If its not something you want to give out dont worry about it I was just curious.

It's C++, not C#...and, for now, is still closed source.

Use QuickBboot 2.0 to make a NXE link. Be sure to mark a demo if you want this homebrew title to be visible in NXE demos folder. The program itself is pretty easy.
Btw. you don't want to use a typical LIVE version, becauase you won't be able to update the CSV file. In LIVE container all files are stored inside one file.

Yes, if you have it (recognized or not) it is displayed in the "HAVE". Check the path at the bottom to see if it was recognized or not.

XM360 will also search elsewhere for the CSV files if you really want to use a LIVE package...or at least that's the idea. I don't use a LIVE container at all during testing.

maybe worth having it mark as red or some other colour any DLC that it does not recognise - so that can try to action it manually or replace it if needs be.
Or maybe say Green for all files valid and named correctly, amber if present but named incorrectly, red if missing, and errrr blue or something if dlc detected but unknown

It's quite a bit of work to re-do how I'm doing the lists, but I'll work on it.

Just to keep everyone in the loop.
After spending WAY too much time with my 360, and learning much more about XUI that I ever cared to, the next version will mostly be a visual update. As it stands now, no real features to speak of...but a different look to most of the controls so that they can convey more information. This isn't anything along the lines of a re-skinning to be fancy or anything like that...it's just taking over more of the work from the underlying control so that I can put things where I want them, and in the color I want them.
Oh, and that old fixed-width font that had at one time taken over the entire app, and then was demoted to only be used in the collection manager list is now gone completely. I figured out how to do real tables...finally.
Anyway, If you use my app, I think you'll like these changes. Expected ETA of this weekend.

You must be running the lowest possible xbox resolution. 480i. Support starts at 480p...Sorry, but I'm trying to put too much information on the screen to worry about cramming it down any smaller. If you aren't running 480i, then you need to adjust the overscan on your monitor/TV.

Make a quicklaunch container for it? Maybe you were getting the packaged LIVE versions before? I don't know where those came from, since I never produced one... I use quicklaunch.

There's no such thing as "running" DLC. You run a game, it looks for it's DLC. Either you have it, or you don't.

Thanks for the suggestion...but I don't think there are any "region" indications that I would be able to make use of... If anyone knows of any, please clue me in.
In the meantime, this is what the "Ignore" feature was implemented for...

does this work for avatar stuff too?
-
@risky buisness
To get avatar content to work you need to use Le Fluffie to open your profile so you can get your XUID/PUID number (offline accounts that have never seen live will not have one and can not use these items at this time). Once you have that number open YarisSwap 7.b and put that number into the appropriate spot (you only need the last 12 digits of this number), then use goto folder button to open the avatar item you want to use, check the avatar dlc replace XUID box, then hit he red button. Now you can ftp content to (hdd1:\content\000000000000000) hope this helps

One thing i am having trouble seeing what button is highlighted. It might just be cause i am color blind but when i am trying to select a side option like Rescan All, Unlock XBLA and so on i find it really hard to tell what one i am on.

Interesting...that's basically the default skin that comes with the XDK. It shouldn't be difficult to fix that for people who are color blind.

You have come a long way node. I am very pleased with this app. Was a bit worried about you and distruk having to many apps going at once. I worried for nothing. You have done a remarkable job on this. I do have a request though.....
...Any way possible you guys could make a game save manager. Its surprising no one has made one yet or even implemented it into the new dashs. Thx again and plz keeo up the good work, many of us greatly appreciate it.
-
QUOTE(DaBuisneZ @ Mar 8 2010, 08:17 AM)

...Any way possible you guys could make a game save manager.
I love suggestions, so keep 'em coming... But, I'm not too familiar with the concept of a game save manager. What would it do? What is the purpose? Can you point me at any similar apps elsewhere?
And now, a question...I had seriously considered holding off on releasing 1.2 until it had a few real features in it. The only "feature" in 1.2 is probably the fact that DLC now shows it's release date and rating if it was scraped from the marketplace. The feature I was most considering adding is as follows:
Every time you "launch" and XBLA title from within XM360, track it. That leads to the idea of sorting by most launches (your favorites), manual clean-up of titles you *never* launch [add the ability to Delete content], and displaying the last launch date of each title.
But then I started wondering if I should even bother...The problem is that most people will use a dash, or a launcher, and not XM360...so, the whole concept is broken. Then there's the fact that the (at least my) 360 almost never has the right date since I'm always unplugging it, so date stamping would be wrong most of the time anyway.
So, I'm ready to concede any features around keeping track of favorites to other apps (like freestyle). So, the question. Is that a sensible thing to do? Is anyone *actually* using XM360 as a means to launch their XBLA content? To be honest...I do...I run xm360, go into the collection manager, sort by rating/titles that I have, and make sure I'm launching the highest rated titles...But I might be the only person using it that way.
-
Is it possible to configure XBLA launch path?

I can honestly say i never launch a arcade game thru it. Just like xexmenu xm360 is more of a "app" than a launcher or dash. Dont get me wrong it has great features for what it is which is a content manager. xm360 is one of the few apps out now that are even worth using anymore. Xexmenu was needed before freestyle now it doesnt serve any real purpose that couldnt be done using freestyle.
Plz dont take this as freestyle rules the world its just what it is a great dash and a great starting point for the hombrew scene. If i was you guys i would hop aboard and put your skills to even better use.
Now as far as save manager goes just take a look back at old xbox hombrew. Every dash had a save manager that would allow us to see save art, folder id. I was thinking more like all the resigners and achieve unlockers out there but just in 1 package running from the box itself. Just something to think about. It will def be needed for freestyle considering even the stock dash has a way to "see" your saves.
As far as ideas well here goes....Way to launch multi disc games....Fan speed option"s" for any app or dash lol......ROL option"s" for any app or dash.....Way to piggy back ftp to download small things from internet such as title updates xbins ect....media player!! duh i kno everyone asks!.......how about messing with guide button some if plausible....many more but even 1 of those would be great
Plz remember these arent demands just ideas and some maybe even dreams.

If i was you guys i would hop aboard (freestyle) and put your skills to even better use.
I have already contributed to freestyle...entirely in the area of the FTP server, but it was desperately needed. I've chosen not to work on it anymore though since it uses an older XDK which is incompatible with the one I use. When they catch up, I'd love to help out...even add some xm360 functionality there (built in collection manager, for example).

Now as far as save manager goes just take a look back at old xbox hombrew.
As far as ideas well here goes....Way to launch multi disc games....Fan speed option"s" for any app or dash lol......ROL option"s" for any app or dash.....Way to piggy back ftp to download small things from internet such as title updates xbins ect....media player!! duh i kno everyone asks!.......how about messing with guide button some if plausible....many more but even 1 of those would be great (IMG:
style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Plz remember these arent demands just ideas and some maybe even dreams.
Sorry, I'm still clueless as to what a save manager would do. Just never encountered one, I guess. And all of those suggestions sound like they are pointed at team xedev in general...I was looking for xm360 suggestions, as that's all I've had time to work on. The amount of time I can work on this is diminishing anyway.

Okay, that's pretty trivial. I'll add it in the next version.

request for DLC report to have another section for HAVE but UNRECOGNIZED...

Thanks for the tool it seems to work fairly well. However some arcade games it reports me as not having when I do have them. Wolfenstein 3d is one of those games (if you wanted an example). I am curious if it is the copy of the game I have or a bug in the app?

Maybe in the GUI but it would be nice if they were indicated somehow in the TEXT based report for bulk processing at the computer instead of looking at GUI and making manual notes for followup.

Yes, there are at least two versions of wolfenstein. The ID that gets scraped from the website doesn't match the one that you have. You can fix this yourself if you want (either edit the xbla_titles.csv, or change scrapeMS.pl to include that title ID and re-run it). It occurs to me that while DLC supports the concept of "Have but not scraped", the XBLA content manager doesn't...I should add that. The first screen that comes up, however, is just everything that is found...so it should show up there.

Ah, yes...The DLC report currently makes no mention of whether something was "Have but not scraped". I can add that as well...Except I thought I did something along those lines recently...Is it really not there? I'll have to check when I get home.

Node21, I was thinking about two nifty features, which I found today maybe actually useful.
1. I was moving a number of Rockband DLCs, the filenames are terrible to manage and manually look for and the idea came, that maybe the RENAME TO ORIGINAL FILENAME could be reversed RENAME TO DLC NAME (name would be taken from the CSV list).
It would be nice if this feature worked for either selected DLC, or if for instance I'm in the global dir for the particular game DLCs, it would change the name of all DLCs for this game. (just like unlock option works for Arcades).
2. Right Button list switch, could also have additional filters added for: LOCKED DLCs/ ARCADES and for UNLOCKED DLCs / ARCADES.
I think it would simply help to do a quick check if I have any locked DLCs / ARCADEs and spare time when using the UNLOCK function.
3. Last but not least. Your piece of software gains more and more options, almost every day, altough personally I really like the GUI and functionality, I think it maybe a little more functional if you add contextual menus (like in XexMenu etc.) that would display available options for selected file, or game.
Let me know what you think about the suggestions. Either way your app is great as it is

I hadn't considered allowing the user to "config" (there is already an XM360 config file) their xuid. That's a good idea. That being said...I'd have to start from the very beginning. I don't even have avatar support on any of my jtag boxes. Is it just a matter of finding the 8955 update and installing it? Then, I'd have to figure out how to even get some avatar content to test my code on...as you can tell, I'm not really into the avatar stuff AT ALL. But it'd be worth adding to XM360 since apparently a lot of people care about unlocking avatar items...

You can unlock avatar items using yaris swap but you need your xuid/puid number from a profile that's seen live before. Offline profiles do not have this number and at this time that I know of there is no way to inject this number into an offline profile so use off a transferred avatar item with an offline profile isn't possible.

There is something funny going on with what DLC is "recognized" by XM360...

There's nothing funny about it... The marketplace website doesn't have the identical information to the *actual* name inside the DLC... And since DLC doesn't have a unique ID, there's nothing to be done except an exact string match... So, you're right...it sorta sucks, but it's the best we can do unless someone creates a better database than the MS marketplace.
-
QUOTE(node21 @ Feb 27 2010, 09:20 AM)

The "correct" filename of DLC files is 21 bytes long.
As I understand it, the first 20 bytes are the SHA-1 hash of the actual title name. The 21st byte is the first byte of the titleId.
The 20 bytes are at position 0x32c in the DLC file. And the titleId is at 0x360.
it would seem there's an exception to that, if first two bytes of titleId are 4D53 ("MS") then it's only a 20 byte filename without the 4D at the end.
glad to learn XM360 corrects it though.
by the way I'm in need of a way that XM360 can be run on files that aren't installed yet, either with files stored on usb-hdd or a kind of 'xm360.exe' in windows. would beat installing the files, using xm360, then copying back out the files. if ya get what i mean.

xm360 doesn't do anything special to correct that...does it get it right? I would assume that it would stick a 4D on the end (grabbing the first byte of the titleId).

So, I haven't said much, or done much with XM360 for a little while. A few things interfered...
But, I'm happy to say that I'll probably be releasing a new version this weekend.
The #1 feature, and reason for the release is that Ced2911 of team xedev has contributed code to support ntpd...So, launch XM360, and your xbox 360's time will be set correctly via the internet. Thanks Ced!
I haven't played with it much other than to prove that it works. I would guess that if you have your 360 blocked from the internet, and your router/firewall supports ntpd you could also point there to fetch the correct time.
The only other feature I'm considering adding at this point (mostly because I want to get it out quickly so everyone who wants the time feature can have it) is the request for a "custom" path to search for XBLA titles.
Also, since some people may use XM360 now *ONLY* to fetch the time, I'll likely remove the fact that XM360 scans your entire system automatically upon launch. It would suck to have to wait for that to finish each time.
The weather isn't cooperating though...it's way too nice out to be banging away at the keyboard. :-)

Version 1.3 -- Mar 19th, 2010
* Added support for ntpd. Each time you launch XM360, it will update the 360's clock (if it can connect to the ntpd) - Big Thanks to Ced2911 of team xedev!
* Added ability to configure the IP of the ntpd server (see the cfg file for more details)
* Added time display to first page
* Because some people may now use XM360 *only* to set their clock, it no longer automatically scans when starting up
* Added support for an extra path to search for XBLA titles instead of only the built in ones. See the cfg file for more details.
* The report generated for DLC now clearly indicates DLC which you have but wasn't found when scraping the marketplace.

thanks for the update node21,good work as usual, just a couple of niggles the loading time is alot longer maybe this is due to the connection being made to get the current time, also when it loads if u happen to move right onto big window without clicking scan all first, you can no longer move back to scan or down to exit, my console never got a time change still stars at 12.00

Version 1.3b -- Mar 20th, 2010
* Fixed focus stuck on list if you moved there before scanning
* If your startup time is very long, it's because XM360 is trying to reach the time server and can't. Either figure out why that is, and fix it, or set your TIME_SERVER_IP to be empty in the config file and setting the time will be skipped.
* Fixed EXTRA_XBLA_SEARCH_PATH not working (it was working, but erroneously stated that it needed a trailing slash)

Not as far as I know...My app will just use the gateway specified on the box itself. Don't think I can over-ride that.
I don't know why people go through these hoops to keep their box off of live anyway. You already have the ability to explicitly block live connections on the box, so why not do that instead of using a false gateway IP and blocking the whole internet? Or just block the LIVE IPs at your router? Or just let it connect to LIVE anyway...what's gonna happen? They'll ban you? Ban you from something you don't want anyway?
Anyway...if you don't like *any* of those suggestions, see if your router or firewall will act as an ntpd server (some do). If it does, point to that IP instead.

All ok XBLA path now thanks.

Resale value; a banned box isn't worth as much. If you leave live connection open there is absolutely no need for a 3rd party time sync, it does it on it's own for live auth. Startup time on the box increases quite a lot if you do let it connect/search for live whenever it wants. Boxes that handshake and fully process their banning when handed down by live have their ability to create content/saves/profiles that can be moved from one box to another disabled, as well as being unable to run or install disks via NXE. (Any one of those, among others such as paranoia, should be a good enough reason.)

Most home routers don't have a ntpd server, I have yet to see one that does directly run an ntpd. Ones that could (such as my linksys running custom firmware) require a fair bit of knowledge about the underlying system to get it built, installed and working - and even then there is the question as to whether it's internal clock is accurate enough. I can think of a few ways around this all though, it should be possible to open explicit ports to a device and block all others via a router firewall or even run a ntpd in the lan.
Any rate, keep up the great work and thanks for thinking of those of us who block our boxes from live and need alternate time sync

I don't buy that argument for a second. A jtagged box is going to be a jtagged box forever...or, at least it should! A jtagged box should stay off of live, so block it via the menu and call it a day. If you really have thoughts of eventually converting your box back to the original NAND so you can sell it...the fact that it's been opened, and jtagged, and then reversed already diminished the resale value. Anyway, this is off topic, so we can agree to disagree. :-)

Hmm, I guess I always run custom firmware on my routers...but the point is that the router ITSELF connects to an external ntpd to set it's clock...so the accuracy of it's internal clock is a moot point.
Anyway, back on topic.
The next feature I'm working on probably won't be used by too many people. I have multiple jtagged 360s in my household. Computer room, Family room, Master bedroom. Keeping them in sync is a PITA.
What I've added to XM360 basically amounts to an FTP client. No, it isn't exposed yet...it's just internal. What it allows me to do is *PUSH* content from any of my 360s (while running XM360) to another 360 (while running XM360). So, I know that I might want to play Arkanoid in the bedroom but it isn't there yet? Just go into XM360 and "push" it there. It's currently fully functional, but needs a reasonable interface.

What port does the network time stuff communicate on? I know its traditionally port 123 UDP but wen i block all but that port it doesnt work. What all ports should i have unblocked for time synchronization to work?
-
QUOTE(node21 @ Mar 21 2010, 05:17 AM)

A jtagged box should stay off of live, so block it via the menu and call it a day.
I've done that as well as block it from WAN at the router, as well as tap my profile to "live (offline)" via modio, as well as manual/zero the DNS entries - I still occasionally get the "could not connect to live" popup (despite logic suggesting I shouldn't see it at all because parental controls say "no live" - just because it's blocked in that setting apparently doesn't mean it won't call home) which suggests the WAN/manual entries "block" are doing the job better.
Of course, as I mentioned on IRC my only goal in doing anything additional to the router block was to shorten the startup time when having LAN connected, as it tends to search for live for a few minutes if I only block at the router. TBH I don't expect either of my falcons to last long, my first one didn't (1y1m) do consider that before you entirely discount what I said about resale value... it'd sure be nice if a jtag box lasts "forever" but one can't expect that of a falcon or older, and perhaps not even jaspers.

Very interesting. Can you be a bit more specific? As it turns out, XM360 has a new "privilege" which allows it to set the system time...and, curiously enough, that "privilege" was previously only known to control whether or not the DVD eject would kick you back to the dash or not...if what you are saying is true, that privilege also disables the ability to use the DVD drive at all when this app is running? Not sure there's much we can do about that since we really want the ability to set the system clock!

I have the freestyle dash boot DVD in the drive. When im in XM360 and select it the guide button menu disappears but it doesn't boot freestyle dash just goes back to XM360. I haven't tried it with any other disc in the drive tho

The way it's currently implemented...nothing is stopping you from doing that. I honestly hadn't considered it though. I haven't exposed the ability to "pull" files though, so the idea of someone setting up a 360 connected to the internet, running XM360 with all available content on it in one place won't work. ;-)

What we need is a good ftp client/server setup like UnleashX for the original Xbox for Xbox-Xbox tranfers, I used it all the time. I never tried connecting to an "outside" Ftp server with it though. They also had automatic updates for it through the internet as well. I'm not sure how its implemented or if it possible even on the 360. Being able to update XM360 or Freestyle or any other app through the internet and have xbox-xbox ftp would kick ass. I'm running 4 jtags and to keep all of them up-to-date is next to impossible.

Yeah, that would be cool. ;-)
I just don't have the time or inclination to take on something so grand without an xbox devkit...As is, I'm struggling...I have to pick and choose what to work on. Stuff I feel is feasible without a real debugger...
That being said, I'll probably make my ftp client code available since it's mostly a direct port of code that was on the intertubes (albeit with BUGS that I had to find and fix!). Anyone could turn that into an ftp client/server if they wanted to.
-
A little follow-up.
Things are developing well with ftp. It does look like complete xbox to xbox transfer (of all things XM360 knows about) will be included (both push and pull). I'm beginning to work on how this fits into the U/I, but I think users will like it.
Because of this, I've developed a new minor feature (with huge impact). XM360 now stores the results of it's initial scan in a binary format in a configurable location. What this means is that each time you restart it after that, you don't have to rescan everything again. And, all features are available. This makes it much more practical to use as a launcher (which I still do), because re-running it after exiting a game no longer has to rescan everything.
Of course, if you know, or suspect, that something has changed, you can always rescan again. What that allows me to do under the covers is that when you connect one XM360 to another remote XM360 this file is transfered automatically. And now your local XM360 can display everything that is on the remote 360 as well. It's pretty sweet.
There's a lot more work involved (mostly U/I) so this probably won't make it in time to be released this weekend. Certainly not much longer after that though.

Things are developing well with ftp. It does look like complete xbox to xbox transfer (of all things XM360 knows about) will be included (both push and pull). I'm beginning to work on how this fits into the U/I, but I think users will like it.

Damn, You are so talented! This will make so many people so happy!
So i will be able to have 2 xbox 360's on my network and send files back and forth with something like flashfxp!
This is great!
Thanks!

Well, no. That's not what I'm talking about...but I guess I don't see why that doesn't already work? Maybe there's something different about the fxp protocol?
Anyway, I think what I'm doing is better. The problem with content on the xbox is that you don't know WTF you are looking at because the filenames are are gobbledygook. So, imagine XM360 running on one of your 360s, and XM360 running on another 360. You tell one of them to connect to the other and then the U/I that you are used to now shows you content on the local 360, as well as content on the remote 360, and a clear way to see which is which. Then, with the press of a button you can pull remote content locally, or push local content to the remote 360. All without ever knowing or caring about the filename, or where it lives.

Always the man node. Your finnaly making this to good to ignore. It needs to be part of freestyle bro. Anyway great example of why what your doing is so grand....
Back in the day a friend of mine in another state wanted to network play on our old modded xbox1s. So we wipped up the emu only to find out he was missing contra. So off to unleash we went. i ftped to his xbox , transfered over contra and wam off to laggy ass network play for us:)
Its the little things that can be amazing ya kno?Now if you could jus get around to making that save manager so we can all swap saves.......
P.S Were has distruk been? worried bout that little guy and heyyyy i guess after you release app i got first dibs on your collection right

I'm a pretty new user to this app (and I have a lot of DLC that doesn't seem to be matching what is on the marketplace. For example, I have:
[Tomb Raider Underworld],HAVE_BUT_NOT_IN_DB,Tomb Raider Underworld Designer Costumes,Hdd1:\Content\0000000000000000\534307EC\00000002\AC0089F81B621CD0E0C156B6176EFCC6C844705D53
But it still reports this as missing:
[Tomb Raider Underworld],MISSING,Tomb Raider: Underworld Designer Costume Pack
If I go and look up this DLC on the XBOX marketplace, other than file size and file name, I don't see any identifying information that could be used to compare to. What exactly is xm360 looking for to be a match? File name? Some sort of checksum?
Thanks for the great app!

Yeah, if you read back through this thread you would understand that this is a general problem...There is nothing to uniquely identify DLC except for the "name". And the "name" is very often different on the marketplace (the database) from what the DLC actually calls itself (the name embedded in the file). What you might choose to do (and what I do), is when I find content that I have that isn't in the database...I find the entry in the database that should have been a match, and mark it as "ignore." What that means is my list of "missing" becomes more accurate.
-
Ok, makes sense.
We need to start an unofficial database with file checksums

I know how to get the name of the file that the DLC is stored in off the web, which you could compare with the file names on the xbox. It would just require you to add some extra data that your scrap. Typically when I download DLC to put on my xbox the file name is kept the same.
Let me know if you want to know the process to get the file name and I'll PM it to you, since it would be a fairly long post if I post here.
-
If this works for DLC content, the YES! PLEASE! send me the information. It would certainly be more accurate than using the "title".
I'm also aware that "gameroom" isn't detected by Xm360 (it's because it's content type isn't XBLA). I've got it working in the next version though.

XM360 version 1.4 PREVIEW uploaded
Version 1.4 Preview -- Mar 28th, 2010
* There has been a TON of work put in recently, and I wanted to get a "preview" version out so that I can start hearing the bug reports/feature requests
* Instead of scanning the drive every single time, XM360 now stores the results of the scan in a local file after the scan is completed. This is important for the following reasons: 1) If you don't "rescan" after you know there have been changes, those changes WILL NOT be reflected in XM360... So, remember to "rescan" if you have added or removed content. 2) Currently, you can't choose where this file gets stored. It could be slow on a USB stick, and break completely if you try to turn XM360 into a LIVE package.
* There is now major support for transfering content between 360s that are running XM360. Make sure each one has a recent "rescan". And see the config file for information on how to configure XM360 to find your 360s on the network. You can "push" content to another box, or "pull" content to your local box. All content is displayed with a big "L" if it is local, and a big "R" if it is remote. Currently, this is only implemented for XBLA titles (not DLC or TU yet).
* Transfers are initiated by clicking down on the right thumbstick. Anyone get a better icon for this than the one I made?
* Transfer status is shown at the bottom of the screen. I suggest you don't do anything *wrong* why the transfer is working (like launching a title). Also, you can start multiple transfers, since it is all threaded...but in this version it really confuses the transfer status at the bottom of the screen.
* A GREAT BIG HUGE thanks to dschu012 of x-s for altering the fetchMS_DLC.pl script. It brings the ability to match DLC based on filename instead of the title that is inside the content (which often didn't match the marketplace). I had to make substantial changes inside XM360 to use this new format, but it was all worth it. DLC collection management is considerably better because of this. I suggest you remove your dlc_ignored.csv if you have one, and start over. Also, since the format changed, make absolutely sure that if you had an alternate path set up for DLC_titles.csv that you overwrite the file that is there with the one included in this release of XM360.
* XM360 now treats 0x7000 content as XBLA, so the "gameroom", and other things will show up on the first screen.
* REMINDER: This is a "preview" release. There are a bunch of things left on my list:
*** Add more status when connecting to remote ftp ie."Fetching Content"
*** Add a better U/I for ftp transfers (instead of using the status bar?)
*** Add display of Local/Remote to DLC and TU
*** Add Transfers to DLC and TU
*** Update the generated content.bin automatically when ftp transfers are done.

Can't wait to try this...was going to spend a few hours working on my collection today so I might as well wait till I get ahold of this preview. Matching to title name is HUGE.
Thanks for all your efforts.

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention in the README. The previously available feature to "restore" filenames *really* comes in handy now. I had some content that didn't match...fixed the filenames, and rescanned, and all was good again. :-)
And, make sure you thank dschu012 as well. I would never have gotten around to doing the DLC by filename until *after* all of the ftp stuff was completed. But he did the hard work for me, so I went ahead and made the changes to support them.
-
What version is the restore filename feature available in?

According to the README, since Version 1.1 -- Feb 26th, 2010

Oh, ok. Restore = Rename. I thought there was a feature I didn't know about

So far, it looks like most of the content I previously had to mark ignore is now recognized properly. I do have quite a bit of content that was previously recognized that is no longer recognized....for example, previously all of the Deadspace DLC was recognized but isn't anymore. I'll dig in further and see what does\doesn't match.

The first thing to try is to restore the filenames. Then, you can look in the DLC_Titles.csv to see what it "should" be (or if it is there at all).

Have you thought about adding avatar items to xm360, so we can manage them, unlock them etc?

It's been requested, but it isn't on my short-list. I don't even have avatars enabled on any of my boxes. So, the interest level is really low.

They keep linking to the wrong project url for your software on the main page. They keep linking to the xexmenu. You should contact one of the moderators and ask them to fix it on the first page of this thread so it won't keep getting posted incorrectly.
I know I had the link to the correct project site but I cannot seem to find it right now again.

They aren't linking to xexmenu, they are linking the the team xedev homepage. Never got around to adding XM360 to the page, but if you go to the forums there is a thread about xm360...mostly just release announcements, since I tend to keep the conversation here.
QUOTE(ToBbErT @ Mar 29 2010, 06:21 AM)

Im sorry for this dumb question but is this dashboard only for DLC and XBLA?
It's supposed to be a "content mananger". So, it knows about XBLA, DLC, and TU. It was never supposed to be a dash replacement...it's a tool. That being said, I find myself using it launch XBLA whenever I want to play anything XBLA related. Mostly because I can sort by "rating" and "release date".
It has some other features as well...mostly recent additions. NTP support, FTP support, and most recently, the ability to transfer content between 360s without having to know the arcane paths and filenames.
Has anyone actually used the preview release's "remote" capability yet? I'm looking for feedback/success stories along those lines. If no one is using it, I won't worry about making it anything more than I personally need.

I just used this last night and I'm very impressed. I really like the collection management features which brings me to ask - is there something like that for Windows to manage your collection?
I'd like to see a feature to be able to share files between a windows desktop and the 360 using a collection manager on both - just like the feature to share between two xbox 360s that was recently added.
-
Fantastic work, this tool just gets better and better

If there was a way for the program to check for updates, download, install and update automagically, then it would be *almost* perfect
Keep up the good work!

every release i need to well did have to manually do it but now i use my little patcher all i was saying is it would be nice if the locations were in the xm360.cfg file instead of hardcoded into the xex.

Thank you for this amazing DLC,XBLA manager I can't wait to see what next version will be like

BUGS I FOUND SO FAR The app overlaps a little out of the screen for 1080i widescreen 22inc (Component) and sometimes it shows double titles in (Collection Mgmt) it lists one as unavailable and the other available and unlocked. This means that I have the game and XM360 sees it but it's also sees that same title as unavailable.
Example.
Wolfenstain 3D (Unavalable)
Wolfenstain 3D (Unlocked)

I'll need a picture of the overlap you are talking about...All of my primary testing occurs at 1080i widescreen on a 65" monitor...I haven't seen any issues. Have you tried adjusting the overscan on your monitor?
The double titles for wolfenstein 3d isn't a bug. There are 2 versions, with two different titleIDs. The marketplace scrape only has one of them. I can't remember if I added the other title ID in manually in the scrapeMS.pl or not, but if I did, you can fix it yourself by editing the the XBLA_titles.csv if it bothers you.
-
I'm not sure if anyone else noticed, but when i hit rescan all, all the games i installed using NXE2GOD were being picked up as XBLA
Not necesarily a bad thing, allows me to launch my retail games from XM360
I still think the ability to "title update" XM360 would be awesome.....

Yes, that was a side effect of adding support for 0x7000 (downloads). I did it mostly to pick up the "gameroom", but the side effect isn't terrible...As long as they show up as "unlocked". I'm a bit concerned that some "GOD" file could show up as "unlocked", and unlocking it would probably trash it. I guess those are the risks of using a "preview" version.
By title update, are you suggesting that XM360 know when there is a newer version and it automatically downloads it? It's been suggested before, and it's pretty trivial to add...except it requires a dedicated web host to connect to to see if there is an update, and then to serve up the newer file...I don't have a dedicated web host. :-(

Thanks. You should definitely check the overscan on that monitor. The XUI tool that is part of the SDK very clearly shows the "safe" zones for all of the resolutions. And XM360 abides by the 480p resolution and scales up to the actual display resolution. That being said, I'm looking into shrinking it to support 480i, which will bring the edges in...and then they would fit on your screen. I may make this user tunable through the config instead though...

Is it a TV or a monitor? TV's often have pretty terrible control over overscan. I have a 67" Samsung TV in the master bedroom that has way too much overscan, and no way to adjust it. Sounds like you are in a similar situation...Some TVs just overscan way more than they should.
Anyway, like I said, I'm toying with the idea of making that adjustable in the future.

I'm pretty sure i hit "unlock" on the GOD containers and it didn't break anything, will check again tomorrow.
Yes on the title update, just like "normal" games, are you not able to use drop.io for this?
PM me exactly what kind of hosting requirements are needed, i have some available webspace on a dedicated box.
Keep up the good work!
-
I'm afraid I also "unlocked" a few GOD games... nothing bad happened.
drop.io wouldn't allow hotlinking. I think the bare minimum requirements would be a place to host two files: the latest update and maybe a txt file with an ID to check if the running version is the latest available.
Personally I'm fine with manual updates, but I guess some people might appreciate this.
Let's hear what node says!
-
If the GOD containers were initially marked as "unlocked", then unlocking them again won't do anything at all. I just don't know if they actually show up as unlocked initially... I'll have to put one on my box and try it out. Simple fix to detect them and not affect them, so I'll probably put that in anyway.
As far as automatic download...it XM360 updated very often, it might be worth it...but at this point, I can only see a few more releases anyway. It would seem that no one else is using the "remote" capabilities besides me, so I don't really have to worry much about wrapping that up.

Anything is possible...but that particular website doesn't lend itself to this...I'd need a clean interface for querying by titleID...and it looks like that web site isn't using redirect with a new URL to do the search. Then there would also be problems like PAL/NTSC...It just isn't a simple problem.

You can basically query by titleID here. You would get a 404 if the page didn't exist. Yet you would still have problems with NTSC and PAL.

What I think would be cool is if you could scan for title updates on the Xbox and upload them to a site while downloading the title updates you need. That way a large archive of title updates could be created easily.

1.4 is posted
Version 1.4 -- Apr 3rd, 2010
* Since there was actually zero feedback on the "remote" capabilities allowing one XM360 to talk to another one, I've stopped working on that feature. It's all still there, and ripe for improvement, if anyone cares.
* Added ability to sort by locked status in collection mgr
* Added support for overscan via config (see the config file for details)
* Correctly handle 0x7000 content type (GOD/downloads) (only allow launching, don't show locked state, don't allow remote transfer) You will have the "Rescan All" for this to take effect.
* Fixed message when unable to write a report (it used to report success, even upon failure)

But it generally lags my drop location by at least a few hours, and sometimes days.

I'm very interested in the remote feature, but am away from home for another week so can't check it out till then.

I'm running 4 homebrew boxes at home. I haven't had time to test the remote feature yet. Maybe later on today I'll be able to check it out some. I will post some feedback for you node. I really appreciate your hard work and am jacked about the remote feature.

Thanks for fixing the overscan problem im setting up right now. About the remote capability it would be great to have if I had another jtag 360 but in my country you have to find a 360 thats happened to not get sold which is very hard to find a 360 with hdmi new and exploitable and then you have to jtag yourself but this will be useful for people who have more then 1 jtag.

Well, the 1.4 Preview sorta did this...but here's the problem with GOD-content...it isn't necessarily in only one file like everything else... So, for now, it is disabled.

I suggest you remove that. There's a reason why xbox-scene doesn't link directly there. It is built with the XDK.

How does this remote function work?? Does it use the controller wireless function??? If so thats incredible! I dont think meany people have 2 jtag consoles tho.
No, of course not. It uses your local LAN, just like FTP.
If people start to use the remote features I'll get back to working on it for the next version...we'll see.

Great app!
How about a "manage savegames" feature? (Delete, copy, transfer etc) Would be nice if you have more than one box. Would be nice to be able to have the names of the savegames come up, and not just a bunch of numbers and letters.
Dont know if it has been mentiond before, done before, or if its even possible, but i thought id suggest it nevertheless. Let the flaming begin

I think it's time to thank you again, node.

i would use the remote function if it would let me use the ftp server on my freenas box for content storage, as of yet when i try to push content to it nothing happens. still need to try 1.4 final
Edit: i got it working well not really it well push content but then but when i reconnect to the ftp server it won't find it and when i browse that folder the files are under hdd1/content
-
Yeah, the "remote" capabilities are really designed around xm360 talking to another xm360. *Especially* in version 1.4 where I had to add a custom ftp command.
I didn't want to bother with supporting the remote directory...in other words...push to where? So, for now it only supports completely mirrored boxes...things on usb locally will try to write to usb remotely. things on hdd remotely will "fetch" to hdd locally. Thats why when you pushed to your nas it ended up in a folder called /hdd1.
It wouldn't be a stretch for someone to write a fully implemented ftp client using my library...but no one has asked for it...and I haven't decided to write one.

could you just write a content.bin editor? i got it working except for that it mirrors my xbox content..
i was going to post this by it self but now am putting it in this post
i have filezilla running on my computer serving xbla content to my xbox but right now it is pointless because you have to generate the content.bin for the server with an xbox running xm360 meaning once you have the server setup if you only have one xbox like me you need you transfer the content to the xbox create the content.bin saying the content is installed transfer that to the correct folder on the pc then your xbox can download it from the pc's ftp server if you delete from the xbox.....so here is what to do
This assumes you have some knowledge on setting up a ftp server, if not Google for what you don't know
when you log onto the ftp server you want the folder structure to look like this
/
Game
Hdd1
put the content.bin from xm360 in the game folder and put the xbla content in the hdd1 folder just like it would be on the xbox360 hdd
edit: i stink at writing if you can't tell and after i re-read my post for the third time most i what i said is obvious since it just faking the xbox server
edit: i am using 1.4 full and thanks

edit: i am using 1.4 full and thanks
Yeah, it would be pretty trivial to make an app to produce a content.bin...But this is likely broken in 1.4b anyway...1.4b allows you to put the content.bin anywhere, and, as such, XM360 needs the ability to query the other XM360 where the content.bin is stored so that it can fetch it. That is done via a custom FTP command, which your ftp server won't know how to respond to...

Do you have any reason to believe that it is really processing the xm360.cfg that you editted? In other words...try changing the XBLA report path, and then generate an xbla report...it will tell you the path that it is using.
overscan settings work fine for me...try setting them to something huge like 100 to see if it does anything.

Not sure what you mean by the question, but as far as I understand it, there are to ways to launch a homebrew program.
1) Have an executable file that you run from a program like XEXMenu or freestyle dash etc.
2) Have a live container, which means you can run it from the standard 360 menu system (on a jtagged 360 of course). On the 360 are a bunch of folders, and you copy the 'live container' inside the relevant folder and the program will then show up in the standard 360 dash and you can run it from there.

If you are really using 1.4b then I would say it's pretty much luck that it is working. I just read the code. It must be failing to fetch the remote path (since that is a custom FTP command), which would leave the path empty. Then when it requests the file, the ftp server just happens to be in the correct current directory. I suggest that if you like this behavior (and I don't blame you if you do!) then you not play around with custom locations for the content.bin, since that will likely break it.

I don't think you are going to find any kind of success via ftp...when an ftp client talks to an ftp server about transferring a file, there is no notion what-so-ever about timestamps on the files...all that happens is a filename is passed, and then a bunch of bytes...there is no metadata to speak of. If you can explain why this is vitally important for transferring save games, I could implement some more custom communication between XM360 sessions that ensure that the resulting timestamp is identical to the source.

Hi all, loving Xm360 as always (still my fave JTAG app)
Sorry I haven't had time to more extensively test the ftp functions etc.. (it would help if Xbins always had updated ver availible after it's announcement on XS but always seems to be lag) List of suggestions:
1. Make startup scan optional (either by editing config or more preferrably a button)
2. Fix DLC viewing filters (give more options) I believe in earlier verisons you could exclusively see only content you had(locally), Would be nice if one could further profile that by drive eg, HDD1: only or USB: only which brings me to no.3
3. Allow copying of 'All missing content to drive that is missing it' Eg; If HDD1: Has XBLA and/or 'other' DLC content that I can backup to USB dashit folder. Ideally this function could have a seperate page that includes remote ftp xbox as a 'drive' to/from copy option so I can copy content from one drive to another . This would be VERY handy as some of us use a hdd to download to on an online box and then move it to a JTAG box which runs from USB.
4. Extend the whole GOD/CON boot thing but seperate them on another screen and/or make a universal filter for content eg, XBLA,GOD,TU,DLC(Non acrcade dlc eg map-packs) Then by drive HDD,USB,DVD-Then add remote icons for remote items.. Bringing me to no.5
5. Make XM360 an entire boot solution (seeing as there's all that open source stuff ala Freestyle Dash) Integrate it into freestyle or do your own from the begining using their libraries The only thing ur missing is the copy DVD/Patch and the ability to change fanspeed /lights (Some ppl like to configure thumbnails/previews for Emulators,Games etc.. but I personally think most of it is overkill and too much to configure Xexmenu 1.1 is close but lacks the XM360 functions and freestyles bells/whilstles (Lights that go by temp/Configurable Fanspeeds)
6. There also seems to be a huge delay on boot even without the scan (which we all love to avoid if at all possible) I'm guessing that has soemthing to do with the FTP functionality (that's cool, would be good if we could configure that though)
7. Keep up the good work this seems to be the most continuely polished piece of code I have the honor to install and support...
Sorry if I've been a bit hard to follow in places but I hope I got most of the points across. We will give lots more feedback after I get to Downloading/Checking-out/Rollling-out the new version (hope it's not final though)
Brgds Dan

I have no idea what that is.
The 'Flicker Filter' is a (hardware) feature of TV-out decoders (PAL/NTSC) that will blend odd/even lines together to reduce interlace flickering by the cost of sharpness. Xbox1 homebrew allowed control of that filtering in many dashboards and open source software (xbmc, unleashx, xsnesx..). There is a huge quality gain by disabling this since standardsettings are always set to 'max' and post-process the picture too much.
http://forum.xbmc.or...read.php?t=4215
For the xbox360 it depends on the hardwarechip responsible for TV-out. It very likely needs a direct memory patch since there may be no available functions in the XDK for that.

I have a demo of "Super flexible file syncroniser" this attempts to do a bi-directional syncronise xbox 360 <-> pc hard drive
it uses extensivly timestamps to decide if something needs to go one way or another
there is some concept of creation date and modified date
This is imporant for xbox saves because lets say last night i progessed in final fantasy 13 in my bedroom and i want to sync the hdd1/Content/<myidofsavedirectory> back to the pc (or another xbox).....
The save files are exactly the same size so it has no idea of what is newest apart from the date and time stamp
Problem is this..........
once its over to the pc (or another xbox) its useless because it has lost this unique date time stamp
so i cant sync it back down to my other front room xbox
maybe all this time stamp stuff only works pc<->pc and ftp is jsut a no go - i dunno but its frustrating i cant keep them in sync :¬(
many thanks
PS ... i jsut noticed the xexmenu1.1 ftpd suports FTP extension ...
MDTM
Syntax: MDTM remote-filename
Returns the last-modified time of the given file on the remote host in the format "YYYYMMDDhhmmss": YYYY is the four-digit year, MM is the month from 01 to 12, DD is the day of the month from 01 to 31, hh is the hour from 00 to 23, mm is the minute from 00 to 59, and ss is the second from 00 to 59.
I tried it out with HDD1/name.txt and it returns ...
[16:50:20] [L] MDTM index
[16:50:20] [L] 213 20051122123730
[16:52:23] [L] MDTM name.txt
[16:52:23] [L] 213 20100319124742
so at least it knows of the date and time
but im out of my depth here :¬(

You can basically query by titleID here. You would get a 404 if the page didn't exist. Yet you would still have problems with NTSC and PAL.
http://updates.xboxmodder.com/dlc/What I think would be cool is if you could scan for title updates on the Xbox and upload them to a site while downloading the title updates you need. That way a large archive of title updates could be created easily.

Yes, as mentioned before, you'd have to find my dropsite to get it as soon as it is announced. It isn't a secret, but it can't be posted here.
Automatic startup scan is easy to add. I'll put it in the config. I had considered doing it, but couldn't think of why anyone would want to *always* do that as it takes so long. At some point in time, XM360 is really going to need a "Configure" page that will write out the XM360.cfg file itself...but I'm not ready to bite that one off yet.

I think that's still in there...Are you using the LB and RB buttons to filter those views? Filtering by drive isn't though...but it doesn't make sense for DLC...XM360 only looks on the HDD for DLC, since that's the only place it will work.

Yes, this thought has also crossed my mind. The first screen is somewhat of a legacy now...and really the XBLA "Collection Manager" has all of the first screen's functionality (except it won't show things that you have that aren't in the database like the first screen will).

It isn't the FTP functionality, as that does almost nothing on startup...What probably is taking time is the time sync. You can turn that off by setting the IP for the time server to be empty. This should probably be an option with a button to sync time...but I'm running out of screen real-estate!

As it turns out, the ftp standard has been extended with optional commands for just this case. Filezilla even has the command right in it's menu to "Preserve timestamps of transferred files."
What's missing is support in all of the ftpd implementations that exist on the 360 for the MFMT extended command. It seems it is quite common to abuse the MDTM command to serve this purpose. MDTM is defined by the spec as a way to *request* the modify timestamp of a file, and was never meant to be used to *set* the timestamp of a file...however, XeXmenu, for example, supports setting the timestamp via the MDTM command. Most modern ftp clients wouldn't attempt to use it though, but it would probably work manually.
Anyway, what this boils down to is that XM360 won't have to do anything completely custom. If I follow the RFC and implement the MFMT command (and some other supporting commands), this should all work out between XM360 sessions, and with ftp clients that understand this (ie. filezilla) as well.

HI again, it's amazing I can read ur reply as normally XS spits error if repliies go over 3 pages(tree preview) Lucky I tried Lo-Fi. Anyway here are some replies to ur replies
1. (Startup scan) You could just have a checkbox type arrangement or a box that toggles eg startup scan enable/disable
2.The viewing filter in the last version I looked at (think it was preview..) had availible files in blue which is cool but, .. It means if u have to wade thru the stuff you don't have it would be cooler if you could also filter
the greyed-out non-availible lacally DLC (what a mouthfull hope you get the jist..)
Also regarding the drives comment: I meant in regards more to XBLA (Alltho many ppl would like to be able to store backup DLC in the 'dashit' folder so one might go from JTAG box to JTAG box installing(or should I
say restoring?) onto HDD. Also if you ever have the chance to put it in somewhere can u mention that 'it will only work on HDD' As I've had ppl asking me why their DLC aint being seen post unlocking (I can explain
afterwards but it commonly causes confusion)
4. Yes maybe you could integrate in to the collection manager as seems to be the direction ur taking with it . You could still have print report (as that rocks) but do it like: print report for all XBLA missing files from
drive X, or just keep it kinda like it is but seperate reports fro DLC/ XBLA Is definatley the go, Also in theses reports you could include where duplicates have been found otherwise if same title is on usb: and hdd: only
hdd appears in report.(Believe it or not this can actually cause probs in some unique situations) Oh yeah and what ever you do please DON'T loose the first screen.
5. That's cool . It would be nice tho if you could include a boot con for booting from the dash (I know about quick boot but this has A LOT of issues when it comes to making a con for XM360 ,like many other
apps/dashboards it won't get recognised because it's not named default.xex (I don't mind renaming but it still doesn't garruntee that quickboot con will work, I won't go into that programs many issues here..)
It would be nice to see it run inside another dash as at the moment XM360 is regarded as a must (other dash's are optional) but you still need at least one of the other for an all in one solution (which amounts to a bit
of pain booting, rebooting (If you could somehow add a 'back to xexmenu' button or 'back to FSD' you could make lives easier :-)
6. Yeah 4got we love the sync, Ur right another screen(s) for options would be so cool it would blow ppl's minds I think :-) (we luv to configure :-)
Oh yeah one more thing, I don't suppose (ppl keep asking me about this one and you have the skills...) Could XM360 integrate a feature to unlock the music files (locked .WMA in minidex)?? So many of us no longer
have a working version of the CD's we ripped (we wants our music but we also needs our Hdd space :-) I know this might be/is a bit of a stretch (can't hurt to ask) I did have a program written by one of the fench
dudes: lefos123 called 'Xbox Music Converter' It looks good but gets all sorts of unhandled exception stuff (Jitter errors galore) not having the source/resource/time to address it as a PC app it occurred to me it
would be so much easier to use the xbox's libraries etc... for this sort of thing (The original was on HB released, but google doesn't seem to be turning-up anything meaningfull on it for me right now) I gues the fact
that it never worked properly is the reason I never saw it announced on XS news. It will seem to decode up to about 128mb worth of files before it throws the exception. ANYWAY, I digress (sorry if it's not in the right
forum but I/we need help with this one .
Thanx again me friend,
Dan
PS: Sorry I couldn't use quotes properly for this , but like I said XS has probs..

Oh yeah one more thing, I don't suppose (ppl keep asking me about this one and you have the skills...) Could XM360 integrate a feature to unlock the music files (locked .WMA in minidex)??
Not sure what you are talking about with the filters. You'll have to explain exactly what you think is missing.
I also don't know anything about unlocking music. If someone wanted to share the idea/code with me, I could probably integrate it.

As it turns out, the ftp standard has been extended with optional commands for just this case. Filezilla even has the command right in it's menu to "Preserve timestamps of transferred files."

Hi again, Sorry for the terrible formatting
'DoH' (XS viewing probs meant I couldn't quote so I did it with notepad, and not being able to see the resulting word wrap mismatch etc..)
I will try to explain the viewing filter issue: It's not so much what's missing (other than maybe a filter option) As what I would like to be able to leave out; When you set it to view in blue what's on ur drive (DLC for eg,) you have a whole lot of greyed-out titles on the left of games etc.. that's cool for some situations but sometimes I would like to just be able to see only what's in blue ie; On that particular box without all the other stuff. I know it might seem a bit pick-ee and perhaps it is
Also I will see what I can do about getting you the source-code for the Music/minidex/.WMA conversion as I'm convinced doing this on the xbox itself within it's own filesystem will be the best solution.
I was wondering.. With this new update (the Free-USB-DU, woo-hoo) It would be handy if we could use this same filesystem with XM360 (for a whole variety of reasons that should be obvious) I noticed someone already has a PC version of this(announced on XS news yesterday). I am aware that when the next/new version of XBR comes-out (that's IF it does, hopefully soon if so :-) that it will be incorporated in to the NXE and I could understand if you want to wait for these libraries to be availible but it looks to me to be very similar to an NXE god container.... maybe you can do something here, maybe not. Whatever you do we are already eternally gratefull :-)
PS: Still no 1.5 on/in the usual place !! I was wondering if you could PM me the link as I will be adding stuff like this to a new site we are working-on (thus making development/debugging/beta stuff easier :-)

Don't know why you are looking for 1.5. It doesn't exist anywhere except on my home computer.
Features implemented in 1.5 so far:
A pretty damn good view of all of your save games. Somewhat better than NXE, since what I almost *always* want to do is find the ones that are taking up a real amount of space, decide if I still need them, and delete them if I don't. XM360 lets you see ALL of your saves (no matter where they are located) and sort by things like Size, Date, Location, etc...And Delete them too. :-) So far, the remote features aren't implemented here, but that's next.
As far as remote and gamesaves go...the timestamp is critical, as has been mentioned here. I've taught the ftp server in XM360 to pay attention to the ftp extensions that allow preserving of timestamps when transfering files. As it turns out, this gets pretty complicated when trying to support multiple different timezones, and various other problems (daylight savings, to name one). It seems that filezilla gets it *wrong* in some cases, and I can demonstrate that pretty easily. But I'm fairly certain that getting two XM360s talking to each other and syncing the timestamps on files will be simple. It's all UTC at that point, with no conversions to worry about. I just have to teach my ftp client library how to send the commands to sync the times.
This probably won't be complete by this weekend. The weather is just too nice. :-)

Yeah, raining over here
Node, my friend sorry to trouble you again but if you are incorporating the gamesaves feature into the next ver, will it be capable of decoding gamertag names and other info eg, name of game etc.. and will you be able to 'unlock' so that it might be transferred to another GT???

Nope, none of that is planned. I know the name of the save, and the name of the game the save is for, and the icon/image for that...and almost nothing else. I'm not trying to decode anything...

Ahhhh gamesaves have landed. Thx node for filling my request. Check your pm tommorow.

Sorry for not keeping this thread updated.
I've have a few setbacks in my normal routine. Had a minor waterbed catastrophe that cost 2 days, and I've also been busy building a portrait photography studio in my basement. Both of those things have distracted me from XM360 development. But, it's coming along well. I've been transferring save games between my 360s and it is doing the right thing with respect to the timestamp on the files (preserving them). A few things are still left to do such as automatically updating the U/I when a transfer succeeds...figuring out what to do if a transfer fails...etc.
One thing that I haven't figured out yet is what to do about content that is *pushed* to the remote 360. It would be really nice if the next time you ran XM360 on *that* box that you didn't have to do a "rescan all"...but it gets there via a normal FTP push, so it doesn't really know that new content was added... Maybe I'll add a custom ftp command to tell the remote session to "rescan all" and send that command after a successful push. If I do that, I could probably also expose some U/I so that you can also remotely "rescan all" to update what is on the remote 360. Oh well, just thinking out loud here. A "rescan all" could take a while on a box with lots of storage, so a better custom command would have the ability to tell it specifically about the content that was just added. *Sigh* that's more work...

Sorry to hear about the waterbed incident! Hope all is well now.
I have a couple of suggestions for your already great manager.
1) Delete orphaned content.
Imagine you delete a game from your drive, and are left with the content. Would it be possible to list all orphaned content (title updates, dlc etc...) and allow the user to delete this content from within xm360?
2) Profile cleaner.
Cross reference gamelists against entries in players profile, generate a list then allow users to delete content. I think this could be useful to users who use a profile across legit and jtagged 360s.
Just a couple of ideas, good luck with the photography!

Waterbed incident is sorted...Although it cost over $7000.
Photography studio took up all of my time this weekend, so no progress on XM360.
Both of your suggestions probably aren't possible, but I appreciate them!
1) I can't delete orphaned content since I have no way of knowing if there is a game that you play all the time but haven't installed it to the hard drive...some people (like me!) still play some games off of DVD...
2) I can't read profiles. Two issues there. The first is that I don't know how. The second is that if you are signed into a profile, I can't even read the file (it's locked?). And another issue...there doesn't seem to be a way to "iterate" over a profile to list all of the games played by that profile. This must be possible, since the NXE dash does it...but I haven't a clue how to do it.

$7k wow.... Maybe you should have moved your bedroom to the basement and had the studio upstairs!
How about maybe generating a list of possible orphans, then allow the user to delete these on a singular basis?

Nah, it wasn't a $7k problem...it just turned into one. First we needed a new mattress. That led us to the furniture store. We saw a bedroom set that we liked. One thing led to another... Of course, it isn't finished yet... Now the "lamps don't match", and the window treatments are "just wrong." *sigh* All this because the kids jumped on the bed. Anyway, this thread isn't about why you should never get married or have kids (although it's worth it...).
A list of possible orphans is do-able, I guess. But since everything is already categorized (for the most part) by "title it's for", you could probably delete the content that you no longer care about pretty easily already.

Node you sure got a lot goin on! I feel lazy in comparison
Prob a dumb question and apologies if its already covered but after choosing which titles to ignore if I reboot xm360 it doesn't remember my choices.
Normal?
Thanks for constant updates BTW

Not normal. The location where the file gets written is configurable. I think it defaults to the first usb device. If you don't have one of those, it doesn't know where to put the file. Configure it to put it somewhere on the hdd: and you should be fine.

Excellent node I've now custom paths for everything and what an easy fix! Great not having to grab a usb to write the reports anymore. Thanks again
On a side note that's barely worth a mention a number of times after opening XM360 I have selected collection management straight away and the program has crashed forcing a reboot. As I said not every time - weird

Back to the possible feature of XM360 automatically downloading the latest title updates...
If you look at what iso2god does, it extracts a titleId and also a mediaId....The mediaId can be used to query http://xbuc.tk/ website directly...and it appears that the mediaId already takes into account the region differences...
Is this possible to automate in XM360 or am I missing something?
Is this mediaId lost once it is a GoD or after ISO is extracted to files?
Thanks node...loving XM360

No, it's absolutely worth a mention. It's happened to me to during development, and I always wondered why no one else noticed it...So, there's certainly something lurking in there that I'll have to spend some time looking for. Might be impossible to find though, since it's so sporadic, and I don't have a devkit.

I really don't have a clue, as I haven't looked into this at all. I really have to get back to XM360, as I've been concentrating on the photography stuff too much. I'm beginning to realize that I've been holding back the release primarily due to unfinished code with respect to transferring game saves between consoles...but as I've learned in the past, most people don't care about the transfers...so I should probably just finish up what is there and get a version released.

How about a gamesave/con resigner?
You know, if you take your HDD or gamesaves to another HDD or console, some games don't like that (SF4, Dante's Inferno as example)
A way to sing Console ID and Device ID and Profile ID (folder it is in I guess) properly so we may use the game saves with ease.
Currently zouzz Hb Resigner v3 is good at doing this job, but it's in PC, you must do 1 file at the time, etc, etc.
I mean, run in console and manage all baby.
Just my two cents.

Could be strawberry... why are you doing 1> DLC_titles.csv instead of just > DLC_titles.csv?
It does take a long time, but I've never seen an error like that... Can't imagine how it's coming up with "scrapeMS_DLC.xml" either....

strangely enough my batch file does not have 1>

prolly something in the perlstartup.bat shell

Ahh kids, bet they're the reason ur waterbed leaked in the first place (I know mine can't stop jumping on my bed
)
And now to more pertitnent matters: The new 9199 Dash , I've noted that Xexmenu doesn't automatically desginate a USB device(Formatted in 9199 as 'Xbox memory device') as an 'Xbox memory Device' Instead it just reads it natively (Which makes sense I suppose, but I had hoped the O.S upgrd would have made it transperent somehow
, actually don't know why I expected that) ie; Data1, Data2 etc.. It would be REALLY handy if XM360 could read these devices (I know there's a bunch of Open-Source stuff already out that's been integrated elsewhere such as Commander etc..) So I imagine it can't be too difficult (Just kidding I'm sure it's probably really complex and likley to cause all manner of headaches)
But just think if XM360 could do it , it would work on XBR3 as well as the new freeboot (Which I'm finding to be unstable, and would prefer not to have to use untill it's patched properly)
Anyway Just thought I'd float that, Now I must sleep as my kids will wake me up asking permission to play on my JTAG box in about 3 hours(They have their own but they've learnt to use XM360 :-) Ironically they would have to be some of ur biggest fans (Speaks volumes about ur ability to write a GUI!! Even my 4yr-ol has it figured-out)
Brgds/Dan
PS:Maybe I'll have to build them their own JTAG box!! They usally play on the ones that are about to be sold, but things are slow so they're thrashing my pride and joy

Finally got around to getting back to coding. I had been away from XM360 for way too long, and it took some time to figure out where I was when I stopped working on it.
Transfers of game saves back and forth is now complete, with full support for retaining timestamps of files in both directions. I'm finishing up the ability to delete gamesaves from the REMOTE machine now, and shouldn't have too much left to do after that. (Aside from the GameSave report generation) The next release probably wont explicitly support the new 9199 dash's USB memory sticks, as I haven't installed the new freeboot yet.
The next most requested thing is avatar support.

To get XML::Simple do this:
perl -MCPAN -e shell
At the prompt enter:
install XML::Simple
exit
After that scraping the DLC´s works no problem, it´s not a Straberry thing just a RTFM thing

i made those Lips DLC for my own private use... its was newer ever suposed to be public.. please make XM360 delete all "Dragonslayer" tagged DLC's
