Something I keep doing myself and I am sure others are doing it as well is watching the temperature of the GPU, CPU, etc. Do you think it would be possible to code something like this that would appear on the main screen so we dont have to scroll to other screens to see it.

Another cool thing would be for one of these to show the current fan speed and maybe let you alter it. Like from default fan speed and up.

To provide proper management of files, a dual panel was
developed to explore file.
Use Pad Left / Right Pad to change the list.
The Y button allows you to bring up a menu that lets you:

And according to the file that you find:
1 / Add a folder to the list of folders to scan for games

The X button lets you select multiple files / folders. When you press

to make a quick selection. Once the selection made, press Y, and
wish to perform the action (copy, delete ...)

If xexmenu do what you want, don't switch!
People like the idea to view nfo file, other like view they're picture of vacancy, some other like the possibility to have a separate list for xex/xbla, and the possibility to add the folder you want scan for game directly in the file browser (Contextual menu > add to scan list). In option, you can manage the wallpaper, the skin, the folder scan list, switch between ten language. All option are save in a ini file, which is fully handled by the apps, but you can also easy edit (because ini is a simple and clean format)
In usb, i store my game in \Stock\Jeux 360
On the internal hdd, it's in \Jeux 360
Just go in file browser > add folder, and hoo, my new game appear in the list!
IngeniouX is different of Xexmenu, if you can't see that, you can probably just use god and the original dash for play your game ^^

When I select Spanish from the languages list, it turns to French instead.

the dual-view is very good for copying files.
it also works better, sometimes xexmenu doesn´t delete files properly where ingenioux does.
two bugs i encountered so far:
it still random freezes when i use the left shoulder button to navigate.
the language selection is fucked up. it always selects the language that is below the language you actually want to select. e.g. i want to select german, i have to select hungarian to get german etc.

Just tested again and here are the results:
1. When I select Spanish form the language list, it turns to French.
2. When I selected English, it turns to Spanish. xD
3. Once in Spanish (selecting English) are some problems with the translation:
· Some translations are cutted (like "Juego del DVD extraíd" instead of "Juego del DVD extraído" [just "Juegos Extraídos" will be better], " Pie" instead of "Piel" or "Fondo de Pan" instead of "Fondo de Pantalla")
· In the XBLA section, it says "Contenido descargado" (Downloaded content)
· "Show log" must be "Mostrar registro" once translated to Spanish.

You can rename the xex to default.xex burn it to a CD and set your 360 to boot DVD at startup. This essentially makes it your new dashboard. You can also launch arcade games from it, something you can't do with xexmenu. This is a great app but I personally prefer Freestyle dash.

Thanx for replying. I test this new build confirmed language problem is gone. When I choose English its change to English. Previously some other language (I don't know what that was).
Also confirmed Non SD non wide TV are better supported in this ver. H-ov/V-ov option is working as designed. Previously not working.

I extracted a lot of hd wallpaper, and it always work. Is it with special game ? Or is it only from usb ? (i only tried from internal hdd). I can't get it to froze. Or maybe you extract second wallpaper before one terminate ? Other people reported the problem, but i need more info

If these translations are too much large for the program box, I suggest these variations:

4. Extract preview > Extraer vista previa
5. Delete > Eliminar
6. Game folder: > Directorio de juegos:

With these small changes the Spanish translation of IngeniouX will be perfect.

Also I found a small bug...
When I preview HD pics from file browser and press "B" to return to file browser again the cursor/selection is out of focus. I have to press bumpers to find the cursor/selection.
I will report more If I found something.

See the video, a vertical navigation, with nice pics (and no more tab movement, because that's ugly), you can also view the emulator tab (a sytem that provide you 12 button, directly customizable in the interface > path to emulator, picture of the console), with hover/disabled animation

All the translated sentences must respect the correct use of the caps in order to don't have any misspelling.
Capital letters should be written only at the beginning of sentence and proper names, so "Juegos exraídos" is the correct one.

but, i think it would be the best, if Games from Isos and GOD's are listed in the same folder. problem could be, that live installed apps like ur ingenioux are listed here, too !?

For god, it's 00007000, 000D0000 for xbla, and i need the one for indie (the code is ready, i just have to uncomment 1 line for indie game handling)

every genious has it own way of life, and his own way to program a dashboard.
if you compare freestyle and the glorious ingenioux, you will see that there arent much conformities in style
(just think about the lovable double file browser (lets avalaunch times comes back
)freestyle wants previews and a nice lookup for screenshots
ingenioux gotta cool skin and conformatibility. more tools, other functions, 2 completely different dashes
so, skiller, make ur dash finished (if it ever get finished

Single panel for file is also a bad idea. Also, i don't like using 10 xur file
I prefer xbox 1 like, something like unleashX
The coding style is also very very different, so i can't contribute to freestyle
Drefsab> For long time goal, i already think to add a good audio/video player. Since i have on-board apps, we can think to video player button. For now, i concentrate on my short time goal : Video preview for game, downloading of boxart, save game manager (and all small thing like ask before delete). I think it will be ok before the end of the week (so beta 6.5 / 6.8 will be the next official release)
After this, i start working on mplayer port (it's why i disabled mp3 player, for now i use sdk function for playing, where i want custom library, for handling of the most common audio file, like ogg)
Just test the exclude by id function for game, you can have game on demand listed in the game list, without having snes360 showed (and it's real time). Also, the emulator tab is nice.

its awesome to hear of the longer goal's of this project I completely understand why those are put off for now while the more important issues are looked at. I wish I was able to work well on this myself, I've started a little bit of coding but nothing more ambitious than a hello world atm still have to start someplace.I also agree with keeping separate from freestyle, if everyone worked on just 1 dash sure you may have a very good dash but separate projects like this gives more innovation and idea's.

Is there any chance of implementing Xbox Live Arade Game Playback from a USB Drive like in Freestyle Dash?
That's the only feature I'm missing. Great Dashboard though.

Allready tested it and works fine, so far.
So i can completly switch over to your Dashboard. I like the "retro" look compared to Freestyle Dash.

For a future release I have some suggestions:
· In the Games tab all is mixed, and go to the filters every time to change Arcade, 360 Game, etc becomes annoying.
Something like the Emulators tab, a place where you can select a section (with custom icon: XBLA, 360 DVD, etc) to go inside and see only the filtered content will be more practical and better looking.
· Auto hide the content like boxart or video preview if not found instead of show a generic cover or a black box.
· Auto hide devices not found (like memcards or empty usb ports) in order to clean the file manager to a more comfortable navigation.
What do you think about?

cant believe the other ones haven't implemented that by now, i mean at the start u just trying to get it running but they doing final on freestyle but know one thinks the single file copy and re going through directory trees is kinda annoying?
hope he gets his computer back and im kinda curious to the reason they got his shit in first place?

I'm also working on another source of IngeniouX, since the final design is here, and floating around (.xur in the last downloadable version), i can code without having to switch between vs2005/xui authoring tool (that's the part who taken a long time before, since i'm not a good graphic designer)

if you get the right things here, u could create an avalaunch clone and get your postition in the Homebrew Hall of Fame.

i want this soooooo bad i jus sold my wii therefore no more mplayer on tha tv, the xbox360 avi and mp4 player is too freakinn picky with its specifications... i hate plugin'in the laptop into the tv.

i was thinkin bout buyin a usb hd player but i dont got a hundred layin around jus to drop and i know someone will code one hombrew sometime jus dont know how long thatll be and the wait sucks haha
ur my hero when this is done and i use freestyle currently ur dash is a bit buggy and not quite styled rite for me yet(not sayin freestyle is the greatest eather.. jus a better than nxe bc of features) but i love ur double sided file browser and mplayer port would seal the deal ud go from app to main dash

I also working on IngeniouX :
- Auto indexing and auto download of cover/preview video (100%) (take me a long time, but now all game have his own icon/boxart/video, for xbla/xex/god, just have to add xbox 1)
- Auto update of IngeniouX (100%)
- Mp3 player (90%) -> (depend on mplayer, so code need to be cleaned)
- Emulator tab replaced by Shortcut Tab
- Apps tab removed, media player take the place
- Ntp time sync (100%)
- Save manager (100%)
- Xex/Xbe extracting/patching (80%, since i need to implement too long filename patching, i think to use a sort of "database" of game who need patching, and add a function for report on a server when a non indexed game is detected with 42+ filename, and can't be automaticaly patched)
- Archive/Iso manager (100%, with rar, zip, gzip, tar | iso)
Image viewer need to be improved, for support a lot of format, and need some basic function like rotating, mirror, resize
In parallel, i also porting some emulator, to have on board emulation, without launching anything. Don't know if it's a good thing, since it's take long time, but i really want to have a ALL-in-one
Next release of ingeniouX will be out before media player is fully ported, for help me to detect bug, and show you the advance.

One core without gpu acceleration is not strong enough, or maybe I am wrong...
Do we have GPU acceleration access with documentation? What about multicore use?
It has been 6 months after the xbox 360 hombrew scene started to become popular,
but all hombrew is still using one core without using the gpu extensively.

i just dont like the idea that the FreestyleDash is the only big alternative dash for the xbox
remember to xbox 1 times, 4 or 5 different dashboards, that was cool ;o)

So, photo browsing with the hand (and our friend kinect), control video in real time, surf on the web etc...do you want a paper coming to your screen : hey, you have a mail! (and you just open and read it by opening the hand? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif))

Have you thought of asking donations? Maybe it could help to improve your situation.
I know a lot of people who would be willing to help just knowing that a mplayer port is on the way.
BTW, do you think it's actually possible to achieve complete functionality (MKV support, stable 1080p playback, subtitles...)?
