SNES360 v0.21 Beta now Compatible with freeBOOT
Posted by XanTium | January 1 21:19 EST | News Category: Xbox360

The team behind the release of SNES360 v0.21 released a modified package of their emulator so it will now also work on freeBOOT:
Quote

Since freeBOOT users can't run the package, we've made a freeBOOT one, XBReboot can run both.
We felt that everyone should be able to try it. Don't expect it for every release because our Devs don't have cygnos/freeboot to test it on.

Happy New Years to xor and thx for everything in 2009.

Shouldn't you just be able to flash XBR onto the xbox 360 NAND using the Cygnos? I don't see why not. Anyway, thanks for this release guys!

Why not just leave it unpackaged so we can package like we want?

Because they don't want anyone hacking their work. It's in a 'games on demand' package format, if you can find a way to unpack those.

i think it has to do with the jtag wiring,i made a little mistake when installing my cygnos and i got the E79.
looked it up and it was because of wrong soldering under the dvd drive.(the j2d2 points)

are the people trying to use xbr with cygnos
adding the jtag points as i think the cygnos turns them off when using onboard nand
and are thy injecting the kv.bin and rawcnfig.bin

add the cygnos SMC (xbins) to your xbr image then it should work.

i took my orriginal bin extracted the 2 files with nandpro, inserted them in the XBR bin and patched the smc bin with sygnos360 tool.
but with the patch in cygnos toolbox does it patch the bin on the xbr or does it just extract it?

how do i insert it?cant' find any info on this ...

thank you for replying,i appreciate it biggrin.gif

Not related to topic but since many are asking it here:
You have to use firmware 1.01 to get XBR working on Cygnos.

try using the alternative method of jtag... thats what worked for me

if you use 3 resistors then try switching to the diode method or vice versa

seems to not be working if you read the cygnos forums sad.gif

i would rather find a solution so i don't need to reopen my xbox again everytime,so if cygnos comes with a solution i could just flash it like i normally would.

their should be a way to insert the smc.bin...

(and i'm out of resistors at the moment)

this is why cygnos sucks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

xd mod with auto switch and manual switch and you'd have no issue here at all (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The devs don't have a Cygnos b/c they're waiting on VGC Repairs to get some in stock, just as I am. New stock should arrive on Thurs, but he will be gone to on Vacation until the 12th CES 2010.

Hopefully they won't mind making their rls Cygnos compatible after they have one of their own.

Everyone on the FreeXEX Team has a Cygnos now thx to him (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

got it working!

updated to firmware 1.03 for the sygnos chip, used the new wiring metod, left out the resistors, added the normal jtag hack with 2 diodes...

then it boots xbr,and orriginal nand but when switching between you need to unplug the powerbrick for a second.

ok,i'm here again dry.gif

after having troubles with the wiring, powering on seemed to be a big problem as i needed to do it a few times...
i decided not to go this way with the wiring.

now the answer is pretty simple.

flash the chip back to firmware 1.01 for the cygnos and just flash on xbr.
the reason i didnt get it to work earlier was because i patched it with another smc.bin

just leave xbr as it is and flash it on your chip with 1.01 firmware sleep.gif

is there a way to disable achievements for snes360? its annoying when im accidentally signed in to my main profile and i get the 100 point homebrew achievement. then i have to restore my profile before i go back on live with it. i've created a separate profile just for using snes360, but ideally id just be able to disable achievements. anyone know if its possible?

Use the method in this thread to extract the individual files:

http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=706054

Copy those over to your usb/hdd and either boot with freestyle dash or make a quick boot file.  Don't forget to delete the original god container

Is there a way to make this show up in the Emulators folder on Freestyle like Mame360 and sms360?  Right now I have these 3 emulators.  Mame and sms both show up in the emulators folder but snes360 doesnt.  It does however show up in my games library on NXE and also as a xbox360 game in Freestyle mixed in with all the other 360 games.
