Why would you set the fan speed to 00?  blink.gif

Maybe i read it wrong but.. this can be run on a retail console? I have several xbr consoles but would love for my online console to actually live longer than a year. Probably not safe for live though.

No, not retail. This works because we can now run unsigned code on a retail box. JTAG'd only.

Umm yea ive never tested this on retail jtag only xdk's, and upping it to 70 isn't exactly a noticeable difference, but  a max speed that's not wired from the disc drive, thats to come.

Yeah, same here tried a few ways. The only way I got them to show up was put the actual files that are in the individual speed folders in with xexloader on my hdd but then it took over the identity.
So then I had to boot xexloader off cd to undo that, so I dunno where you put them.

A word of warning about the 00 speed. If you select that and reboot you get no fan speed and will have to select another one pretty quick before your console overheats.

put them in the code9999 folder inside 00000000000. they should show up them. luckily we can stick multiple containers in a single folder (tested this with quickboot containers). all my 'hacked' containers all end up in code9999.

So is it the 00, 70 & Auto folders we put in there or the actual files with the 16 or so numbers that are in those folders. yeah know, sounds a bit noob

Content/0000000000000000/
they need to be in another sub folder, like the ones already on your hdd, just like the other container files, or you could just use freexex and launch emm of usb

nice app but no chance in hell im risking running anything to do with fans, problems occur and render ur fans useless

wasn't this released a few weeks ago? it came with the custom oxm dash. I set it to 77 and my xenon and the fans are running much faster without any hard mod! if you use this app correctly, it's the most important for your jtag'd box. As long as you run the correct speed (and NOT 00) your fans will not shut off. I actually set it to 00 restarted and they didnt turn back on lol i then RUSHED back to xexloader and ran fanspeed77, they blasted right on. Pretty sure 77 is 7 out of 10 for each fan.

well i gonna try another time.  This 77 fan speed is very usefull. ( 12v fans make a lot of noise ) But how the hell my fans stopped i dont know  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Just Executed 70speed.xex on xexloader nothing more. +Reboot console.

No need on copy to HDD and execute from "Game library"?

(EDIT) Tested and no results.  My fans dont start and has only 1.23v. I'll let it pass, jumped to 12v again. More safe i guess.

What are the offsets that determine the fans speed in the config block? And to what must you edit those offsets to for like 90% 80% 70% etc???

So does this keep working until you pick a different setting or only the first reboot? Is auto the default setting?
Title: FanSpeedFlasher v0.03
Post by: skipper132 on December 31, 2009, 10:55:00 PM
auto is the default,as why yours isnt working and his is, this was only tested on xenon's and zephers,  this tool modifies the nand so if your running it on a second nand, i honestly don't know, maybe it only works for xbr. as i said testing wasn't done.

excuse the grammatical errors its late

I ran this file on the console usin free xex loader, and no fan speed change at all on my jasper, didnt try the 0 fan speed. maybe the fan speed setting in the nand is in a different block  on jaspers. im just doing a 9volt mod instead using two 5W15ohmj ceramic resistors from a 12volt source. best to mod the fans manually i think. expecially on a console which will have no warranty long term.

GPU & CPU Temperature tool WANTED

It's coming in next release of XexLoader.

This app saved my ass on my falcon last night, was coding something and well my code made the box prrod lol. Turned it back on and my fans no longer spun up. Put this app on usb stick and launched it asap and fans now work smile.gif

We did some testing last night and FYI the 44 and 70 speed xex's are broken.  Both set to values that are not in the manual speed range.  Manual speed range is 80 80 through E4 E4 (Percent desired + 128 then convert to HEX)

44.xex sets the fans to 2C 2C, Using the proper calculation this should be AC AC
70.xex sets the fans to 46 46, Using the proper calculation this should be C6 C6

also seems there is some kind of signature or hash in the config block for the fanspeed as manually changing the values results in an E72

There is a patch posted on xboxhacker that converts Autospeed.xex to 100% speed and it actually sets the fanspeed to E4 E4 and works.
