He had some inspiration ;-) then there was the other 99% ... (Geramia, I don't think ur lazy bro ;-)
I have said before: If you ned to ask questions on this one , then perhaps you might consider outsourcing to someone with Crazy-Ninja-R&D skillz, AND/OR a cr@pload of spare PCB's from doing a cr@pload of PCB swaps previously, not many of us around ATM, we are in particularly short supply in the mod-world... and most of us are busy thinking this shit-up :-) There are a lot of ppl who claim to have done it successfully, and Geramia has done an amazing job of refining this trick... TBH, it's way past DIY for most ..Now we are starting to get the calls about the stuff-ups and ppl asking if we have replacement PCBs etc..
That said:
Supposadly this can be done with VIA 6421 (although it's not straightforward, Geramia doesn't give away all his meals fully cooked, it wouldn't be as much fun otherwise..)
You don't need a lizzard, I would suggest one of the cards/mobo's that are know to work well with 0225's(If you can't get a lizzard) This may mean some trial and error on ur part... Perhaps do a test-run MX first with the same setup if you can ...(ie; before you pull-out the dremel) There are plenty of tut's around, but I still think this is VERY dangerous and not worth wasting a PCB/Chip over unless you have one ready to replace (of the same kind eg; Winbond.. That might be an issue further down the track)
Please don't take this too personally, as most of the guys here think this mod is about as out-there as it gets, and ask me to re-explain the details almost daily (even the ones that know the procedure, not understanding can get u into trouble when things don't go to plan.) from a mechanical standpoint there is almost no margin for error, you can bet that ppl agonised over releasing this mod knowing how many chips will be ruined
So when you ask ' Where do I probe the 0225' That demonstrates to me a level of understanding that I would suggest waiting for the refined versions (or the SW version) to come-out. This aint no MRA or PMT, don't go out and buy a Dremel-press&bits unless you already had them and the spare TX PCB & A lizzard (Unless you are competent at 0225 cards/key xtraction w/o one.. don't want to drill thru only to find-out ur card was incompatible etc..) Oh yeah you might consider a USB-microscope if you didn't have one... Now you see why most ppl are outsourcing this one (more hassle and cost than it's worth to most ppl)Especially when most end-users pay around fitybucks for the privilege!
Anywayz enough with my scary-rants , If I still haven't put you off ..(Or made u wisely decided to burden some poor chump with the task) Post here or PM me (I'm kinda busy ATM) But I will do my best to help you : If you have an X360 USB: wait for JF integration (although it might be a little while , based on recent history - Generally speaking, TBH I would have expected it by now, my understanding is that it's just a 'WRSR 00 spi command flood' If not by JF, at least TX could have done a 3rd party or FW upgrade <maybe put that switch to good use?-kidding-> to tide us over, that is those of us who chose to support the X360 USB) Don't get me wrong, I'm not having a dig at anyone, I wonder if they know how many ppl are buying a lizzard for this task and future support of this nature ........and(somewhat unrelated) I think perhaps O has felt a little un-appreciated lately, his efforts often go overlooked by the fanboys as his releases are often in sync with FW .... I for one think he does a sterling job and still puts-out the best GUI (or otherwise for that matter) in the biz, even if some ppl get spoon-fed out of it

Perhaps we could all keep that in mind next release ;-)
Back to work for me :-o
