can I update directly from 12625 to 13599?
or do I have to update to 13146 first?
and is there anything you should advice me about the SMC thing,cuz I have seen most of the people are having problems due to SMC errors.

Not sure about the SMC, but you can update directly to 13599 because the tool makes a 13599 NAND image to flash your console with. I'm getting ready to update my JTAG with this after I update Dash Launch.

check the to-be-flashed image with this:

smc-comparison-tool --image1=flashdmp.bin --image2=updflash.bin
the first being a dump from your system (by way of xellous httpd or flash360) and the second is the created image by any tool.
if it says "SMC mismatch", don't use the new image. it'll also spit out details about where TMS & TDI signals are in each image.

Sounds great but when I run it in win7 64bit it flashes up but disappears before get the chance to read it.
Used this to update and all is well apart from not being able to load Xellous any more. I read somewhere it is no longer at the beginning of the nand so will have to check that out as xellous is a fantastic feature to have!

guess i should have mentioned that this is a command line program. drop to DOS first.
