Title: 360 Content Manager For Jtag & Rgh 360s - Version 3.0
Post by: doveman007 on October 01, 2012, 09:03:00 AM
Could this be used to make a backup from a locally connected HDD (via SATA) into human-readable folders (i.e CODMW3\5445783)?

A possibility to mass resign save files would be useful. Currently if i select more than one file (shift-click) the resign button greys out. This is mostly needed to migrate save files from one profile to another (eg. in case of profile corruption).

I don't mean to belabor the point, but the feature really didn't work exactly like you're explaining. It was similar but not really either of the things you're asking for. I stand behind my decision to remove it. You wouldn't use it even if it was still in the app.

I know that scanning a large amount of data remotely sucks. Partly that's due to network bandwidth limits and partly it's due to a bug or two in the SMB code of FSD. I've made some notes based on what you'd like a caching feature to do and I might implement it in the future. No promises or anything, but I'll add it to the list of feature requests.

I'd just like to add my support to this feature request. I realise that there's various ways of putting stuff on the Xbox HDD and that any cache might not always be up-to-date but that's down to the user to discipline himself to either stick to one method or update the cache and I'd find it very useful to be able to load up 360 Content Manager to see what I've got on the HDD already, even when it's off.

A locally connected FATX drive over SATA? No, but if you used another program to extract the files first, my app would then happily read in them all and then reorganize them in whatever fashion you want.

It's something I'd consider for the future, but I don't have any plans to implement it immediately.

I'm looking into it. The methods I've explored so far are either as slow as rescanning the drive or will require a whole lot of effort on my part. I'm waiting for an easy and fast solution to fall into my lap, so it could be a while before that happens. smile.gif

Yeah, fair enough I can see that this program isn't designed to be able to read a locally connected FATX drive, I just happened to have the drive connected that way whilst I diagnosed the drive when I asked wink.gif

I'd be happy enough if it could do it from the HDD connected to the Xbox over FTP. The reason I want to backup the files into human-readable folders rather than just (e.g.) 545001 is that it's rather hard to know which folder is which game like that. I know that this program can probably be used to tell me which folder is which game but that's a bit inconvenient a lot of the time, when I just want to delete a game I no longer want to keep backed up, copy the folder for a game or two to another drive, put some newly downloaded DLC in the appropriate game folder, etc, if I have to load this program to find out what game 545001 is and then go back to Windows Explorer with that information to do whatever I need to.

So if I copied the folders from the Xbox HDD to my PC HDD via ftp (whether with this program if it facilitates that, or something else) can this program then be used to automatically rename the folders on the PC HDD to include the game names?

As an interim measure, how about just creating/updating a text file each time it scans the drive, with a list of games found in it? That's obviously not as nice as being able to see the list in 360 Content Manager's GUI but at least it gives the option of having a list of currently installed games for the user to check without having to powerup the Xbox.

1. If you have some local content handy, point my program at it and then go into the content organizer. Play around with the path styles and look at the table view for a preview of what it can do. I'm sure you'll find a style that's to your liking.

2. I'm not a fan of half-measures. I'd rather do a thing right or not at all. If/when caching comes, it will work in a way that's seamless and efficient.

I'm running 3.0 on Windows 7 64bit and I get a "Don't Freak Out" error every time. It works fine, but I can not save any of my settings. I have installed .Net 4 as well as 4.5. I tried running it in XP compatibility mode too, but no luck. It seems to run fine the very first time I run it - it creates a file "jtagcm.settings". But any subsequent runs, it triggers an error and doesn't save any settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is an awesome programme.

Maybe kinda silly question. But I've been  looking for a tool similar to "wiibackupmanager" for XBOX360 (one that can rename isos based on ganenamelookup.csv from abgx360.
I need it to organize my isos for XK3Y.
Any chance this tool does what I'm looking for? I ONLY WANT to change the ISO name. (and maybe the creation of alphabetical folder for the games would be nice too)
Thanks!

Are you running the program as an admin? If not, please try that. Not being able to write to the settings file after it was created could easily cause a "don't freak out error". I wrap all calls to save the settings in a block that will prevent the program from completely crashing in case there's a filesystem error. It's not the only possible cause, but it's certainly the most likely.

QUOTE(kainy @ Oct 27 2012, 08:46 PM) View Post

Just to add some present issue with Windows 8

I'm using both Version 2.2 and 3.0, and on both I get the same error (will only post the 3.0 error log). The strange thing is that it only crashes when selecting content bigger than 1GB (may be less, but some DLC under 1GB didn't crash the app)

Just to mansion that both version worked perfectly on Win 7 64bit and FSD 3.0.

This sounds like a locale problem. Different regions format numbers differently (1,000.34 vs. 1.000,34) so my program has to make a couple assumptions. The primary one is that you're using all the defaults for your region/culture. If you've made any custom changes to how Windows formats numbers, that could be causing the problem.

Try scanning a smaller amount of content and see what happens, like a single folder of DLC.

I'm still thinking it's some sort of permissions issue... Where do you have the program folder installed to? Is it under Program Files or something? Could you try running it just as a sub-folder of your Desktop or My Documents? Does that make a difference? Can you try right-clicking the exe and running it as an Administrator?

Any word on adding the xm360 list comparison? I love to keep all the xbla on my hdd(actually on my nas accessed though connectx) but I can’t use xm360 to check it because it looks on my hdd not the conx folder so to check against their list I would need to upload all my xbla stuff the my internal hdd, check, add missing, check again, then transfer it all back to my nas. Wouldn’t be a problem with gigabit but with the 360's 10/100 pos nic card it would take days to do this with my complete collection. So for now I must use the Wikipedia article and 1 by 1 go through and manually compare my files to the list. Its horribly inefficient. Spent 7 hours yesterday getting my collection up to date, would have taken 20 minutes with a compare list.

Please please please make adding this ability a priority. it's the one thing I have wanted since xm360 stop being updated. Defiantly would donate for this feature.

While I like this program & overall it seems to work well for me working on the 360's internal drive I can't get it to see my USB drive attached to my 360. Am I missing something? According to the notes for version 3 (which is what I'm using) I thought working on other drives attached to the 360 were now supported? Is this in fact supposed to be possible or will it be at some time?
Most of my content is on my external USB drive attached to the 360 & I would love to be able to use this program to access it.
If this program can't do this does anyone know of any other programs that can access the USB drive while still attached to the 360 other than FTP?
Thanks!

Over a month late, and you'll probably never see this, but:

Go into the options and turn on Advanced Settings. Then you can go to the FTP tab and change the device name. It needs to match whatever the program you're using for FTP calls the USB device you want to send items to. It's probably "usb0" but it could be something else. Just double check by doing a manual FTP and seeing what the device folder is named.

Don't be afraid to just try it out, it won't hurt anything if you enter in the wrong name. The files just won't upload until you put in the right one.

Is there any way to cache the 360 drive scan data?  It is a killer that the data is lost if you touch another drive with the GUI.

360 Content Manager for JTAG & RGH 360s.  Created by xamphear.

What This App Does:
* Browse 360 files on your PC by their real info, like game name and package
  title.

* Unlock XBLA, DLC and Avatar files downloaded from Xbox Live.

* Upload files (XBLA, DLC, GOD, Avatar, Title Update) to your console over FTP
with a single click. Files are automatically uploaded to the right folders.

* Drag and drop files to other applications, if you'd prefer to use your own
  FTP client.

* Organize a messy folder of downloaded content into 1 of many different
directory styles. Restore the original filenames for XBLA and DLC files.

* View the MediaID of Title Updates and GODs so you can match them, and search
JQE and XBUC for matching TUs.

* View the MediaID of ISO files. (Requires abgx360)

* View the MediaID of default.xex files.

* Browse your 360's hard drive directly, using FSD. This
allows you to delete, unlock, edit and copy the contents of the 360's internal
  drive over the network.

Please see the About box for credits and thanks. This app owes a lot to other
more talented 360 hackers.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
 * FTP Uploading works with all 360 homebrew packages:
FSD, xm360, XeXMenu and the ftpdll Dash Launch plugin.

 * If you get any error messages opening the program, install .NET 4.0:
     http://goo.gl/KGxwK

Change Log:
1.0 - Initial Release.
1.1 - Bug fixes.
1.2 - Library scanning changed from FTP to SMB. FSD mounted drive support added.
Delete option for files. Column and groups for content type. Filter by
type in the filter box. Filter box no longer requires a refresh. Content
indexing optimized, should be much faster. Content organizer to sort
local content into proper folders with optional folders for game name
and content type. Checkboxes added to list for easier selection of files.
Shell integration: Add access to the app when right-clicking any folder
in Windows Explorer. "All Files" progress bar added to upload form.
Right click menu added to folders. Correct size shown for GODs. Bug fixes.
1.3 - XeXMenu now supported for FTP uploads. FTP upload progress now shows real
time KBps speed of transfer. Visual queues for uploads and other multiple
file operations. FSD SMB functions hidden behind a "Beta Features" mode
to prevent confusion and to clearly mark them as potentially unstable
while the FSD SMB implementation matures. New DLL files so that MSVCR is
no longer required. Windows 7 taskbar progress during uploads. Warning
and error messages made much more informative and friendly. Minimize
upload window during long operations, with a taskbar notification when the
upload finishes. Tool-tip help icons in the settings. Content organizer
saves output folder between uses. Export a report of content files to a
CSV. Total queue progress bar more accurate. Bug fixes.
1.4 - Size column on upload screen. Fixed size labels on upload screen, all
sizes listed in MB now. Fixed bug in abgx360 detection. Fixed bug that
caused error messages when selecting files and uploading in some regions.
More accurate speed during uploads. Time remaining and progress percentage
added to window title and tray icon. Other bug fixes.
1.5 - Content organizer now has 2 new folder options that include "PackageTitle"
for placing each DLC into a separate folder by name. Deleting GODs now
deletes the full game, not just the descriptor file. Fixed bug in saving
content organizer output path. Changed FTP timeouts to provide faster
feedback on bad settings. Other bug fixes.
1.6 - Support for ftpdll Dash Launch plugin. Patching/Unlocking of GOD files is
now enabled. Correct filesize shown for Xbox Originals and NXE Game
Installs. Xbox Originals made with ISO2GOD can now be uploaded. Limited
support for extracted ISO games: default.xex files can be loaded and their
TitleID and MediaID are displayed, allowing you to search for Title
Updates. Game demos are supported for upload. GOD uploads now display the
correct number of chunks when uploading multiple GODs in the same queue.
GODs, Xbox Originals, and NXE Game Installs can now be organized. Pressing
ESCAPE will stop an in-progress folder scan, if you accidentally trigger
one on a very large directory. Other bug fixes.
2.0 - New name. FTP "File Exists" dialog updated. FTP settings simplified.
Prompt to enter FTP IP address upon first fun and subsequent runs if a
valid IP hasn't been entered. Bug fixes.
2.1 - Reads and displays actual Title Update version number, which is helpful
since Microsoft has stopped making it part of the package title. "New"
style TUs (ie: tu0000004_00000000) can be renamed using the content
organizer, since the number in the filename is largely meaningless.
2.2 - Bug fixed in Content Organizer, GODs are properly moved between drives
now. Managing content on the 360 itself has been streamlined, drive
mapping is preformed automatically. FSD version 2.2 or higher is HIGHLY
recommended when using this feature. Preview added to the Content
Organizer so you can see the new folder each file will be placed in.
All of the options in the Content Organizer are saved between uses now.
The Library Scan feature has been removed. Date Modified column added.
Fixed bug in uploading when using xFTPdll. Uploading game saves is now
supported, saves are sent over FTP to the proper profile folder location.
Fixed crashing in XP when "File Exists" dialog is displayed. Added wizard
to walk new users through common uses of the program. Disable it and you
      will not see it again.

Is this a closed-source application? I've been tinkering with coding an app which uses some of the same functions. I'm curious how your implementation compares to mine. I'd love to see the source if possible.

Closed for now. I'll probably release the source code when I feel better about the quality of it. There's an open source STFS library called X360.dll (which this app is not based on, but it's quite good). You could look into that.

would it be because i have 5 Hdd's? is there any way to get it to only scan one?

never mind i installed the .net framework and got it working (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Awesome about the source. I have an unnatural love for reading code.

I had heard of X360, but I'm glad you brought it up because you inadvertently lead me to other useful STFS info. Cheers, mate.

I did a similar project in PHP that compares what's on your local file system to what's on the 360 (side by side, diff, if you will).

Didn't feel like messing around with Mono and that DLL, so I wrote my own libraries in PHP - using all the juicy info found here:  http://www.free60.org/STFS

That's not how it works (yet). Right now it is only for browsing content on your PC and sending it to the 360.

Its already a must!
I wonder if you can add some simple features to the next version like the ability to sort contents by "Addon" and "XBLA games". I use my internal hdd(hdd1) for DLCs and my external hdd (usb0 fat32) for xbla.
Also the ability to move, copy or delete the selected contents would make it just perfect! (copy and move doesnt need to be through ftp, just to a temporary folder is good wink.gif  )

Thank you for your hard work smile.gif

How does this part work.  I scanned my x360 and now when I browse to content on my PC it states if I have it on xbox or not, locked or not, etc.  However I don't see anything about Title Updates.  It said it scanned my Cache folder, and I had the checkboxes marked for it to check with the 2 sources and I know my TU's are way out of date.

Do I need to copy my TU's to my PC and then compare and let Jtag Content Manager find updates based on what it finds on my PC?  This would be an awesome feature if it could scan the x360 and then pull a list of TU's from the database that are newer for download and installation onto the 360.

I'll check this out, but before I do, I have a question.

Does it allow you to delete stuff from the Xbox 360 HDD ?  I have a whole lot of Avatar stuff, some 400+ items that are defunct now coz of the dashboard update, which rendered all the old Avatar stuff, like clothes, toys, etc., not usable anymore, and it's a PAIN IN THE ASS for me to manually delete one item at a single time :@

Is there any way you can make it work so that it'll allow me to delete all the Avatar stuff, and I'll then manually add the new stuff later on smile.gif

Do lemme know.  Thanx a lot in advance smile.gif

Pull the TUs back to your PC, and browse them. Then there's a button next to the textbox where the Media ID is displayed that will open searches for TUs. There probably won't ever be the level of full automation you describe, it would be too heavy of a load on the surviving TU sites.

This is awesome little app biggrin.gif Combined with XM360 pretty much all bases are covered.

Means I can now sort DLC/XBLA out while watching TV (HTPC) without having to switch back and forth between XM360 and PC.

So far everything running smoothly. One feature I would employ you to add is the ability to right-click > delete on the PC source, even if its just TUs! Even better if you could multi select while doing this.

I have a cache2 folder that has a stupid amount of TUs and the only way so far to delete them easily is with XM360. This takes an aaaaggggeeee.

The only other ways really are to delete all and start from scratch or use Windows to search for the filename which takes just as long.

Apart from that tiny niggle Ill be using this alongside XM360 quite happily biggrin.gif

I have not tested it with FSD's SMB feature yet. It's something I definitely planned to do. It *should* work, but I can't swear to it. Now that the dust has settled on the first release, I will probably be looking into features like that in order to implement a way to browse and manage remote content as easily as local content.

I keep getting an error when I scan my 360. It's usually a slight variation on:

\HDD1\Content\0000000000000\xxxxxxxxSystem.ArgumentNullExcept
ion: Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: input
   at System.Text.RegularExpressions.Regex.Match(String input)
   at ?23?.?24?.?34?.?39?.?162?()
(and a few more lines like this)

I've transferred the folders from my 360 to my PC (they show up fine in JCM on local scan), deleted them from my 360, and tried the scan again, but the same (or similar) error pops up for a different folder.
Any ideas?

I know about this error. Ignore it for now, the next version won't have it.

Also, I can confirm that mounting a FSD SMB path as a network drive and loading it in JTAG Content Manager works as expected. I'm going to keep FTP uploads, but definitely leverage SMB for scanning and managing content on the 360 itself in the next version.

I have added a second option for a saved folder. You can set one as your local folder of content, and the other as your FSD SMB share's mapped drive letter. Now you can browse content directly on your 360 the same way you can local content. It's slower, of course, but works exactly the same. Loading my entire HDD (which has thousands of files) took about 10 minutes, but after that I was able to work with all the files, and as long as I didn't hit refresh, it was fine.

The package type has been added as a column.

The ability to copy content is already there, you can drag and drop files or whole folders to other windows, just open up a window showing your usb drive and drag a folder over.

Looking forward to the new features.  Wonder how long it will take to work through 900gb of files on the xbox

Edit - about 25 minutes so far and looks about 1/4th done.  Transferring very little data so I'm not sure if that is normal if just crawling data or not.

My content was about 200 gigs and took 10 minutes, so it's not surprising to me how long yours is taking. Indexing 900 gigs of content on a local disk would take a long time, doing it remotely over a 100mbit link is going to slow it down even more.

I gave up after about an hour as it was less than half done and I wanted to play something before bed.  How does it do the indexing?  Does it actually just read a part of each file and that would explain the really low amount of data moving between the two?

What I would like to see is an app (or existing integration) on  PC or 360 or both: That manages duplicate profiles, eg; it allows you to copy a profile and manage two separate copies on two separate MU's .I and others are now doing this for a couple of reasons, it would be handy to have a simple app (or library) that allows you to pick which profile has been modified most recently (Perhaps even update and sync achievements) and/or duplicate a profile with ease. Some lefluffie functions on the 360 would be cool also, eg; un-corrupting, re-signing etc... The  combination of portable x360.dll's and the  360's native libraries would, I imagine make it fairly easy to get off the ground. I would take a shot at it myself but no-one wants to sell XDK/dev-kits these days....  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

A basic PC app for profile management (Noob-friendly and robust) would be really cool! (FTP plugin, all the better!)

BTW Thanx for ur contribution with this management app! I'm looking forward to having the time to have a look at it ;-)
I'm sure Node21 would be keen to check this out! We talked about something like this a while ago, Do you think this would work with FSD 2.0 FTP also?

Yeah, it's just checking each file to see if it's an SFTS package, and if so, pulling a few bytes out of the header. The lengthy time isn't so much due to the quantity of data, simply the sheer amount of filesystem calls involved in examining every single file it comes across, since everything in the 0000000000000000 folder is (or should be) an STFS package. Though, now that I think about it, I could easily make it skip .data files (GOD chunks) so I'll probably add that in. It might shave off some time for people who have a shitload of GODs installed.

In the end though, 900 gigs of content simply might just be too much to index over SMB, off of a (probably) 5400 RPM drive. I won't give up on trying to optimize it, but there's probably a line in the sand that can't be crossed.

Let's see... Profile stuff isn't something I'm likely to add in the near future. I simply don't know all that much about mucking around with profiles.

I haven't spoken to Node21 as I don't know him, but I hang out in the same IRC channels, so maybe we'll chat about it some day. The app does work with FSD 2.0, and the next version actually uses the FSD SMB sharing feature to do some cool shit.

Yeah, 900GiB over the 100Mb/s 360 Ethernet port would take over 20   hours—at least if my math is correct. It's just not feasible. The   5400RPM drive has little to do with it. When you're reading files at a   theoretical max of 12.5MiB/s the drive is the least of your worries.

Well, it's not transferring that amount of data, rather the size is an indication of just how damn many files we're talking about indexing. The only data that goes from 360 to the PC is some information on the file (size, etc) and the STFS header (a few KB at most). So in that case, the problem isn't one of throughput, it's one of latency with the drive constantly having to go between the FAT and the sectors on disk where the data is, plus the overhead and latency that CIFS is adding on.

I make no claims that my code for indexing is great or even good, but 900 gigs of files is a lot of files, no matter how you slice it.

Skipping the GOD stuff would be great as that is probably 75% of my stuff

Just tried it with some local stuff and this is going to be an awesome tool, especially the renamer.

Do you think it might be possible to add some kind of sorter as well?  Similar to the DLC sorter that moves things to the correct subfolders, but of course within your interface.  While on the renaming topic, maybe the option to rename to the package title as an option for being able to visually look at everything easier without 58309839485934EG etc.

Maybe also an option to not refresh the list when taking actions - makes it harder when you lose your spot each time.

I've already disabled automatic refreshes. It's a trade off. With them off: you'll get some errors if you click on a file that's in the list but not really there anymore (renamed, deleted, etc...) but leaving them on was annoying and caused a lot of delays. I've also started work on a local content organizer that expands on the renaming.

Renaming files to their package title is sort-of possible. FATX is limited to just 42 characters in a filename. There's plenty of content out there that will go beyond that, not to mention loads of invalid characters (:, TM, non-English letters). There's a reason the filenames for STFS packages are just hex.

Besides, the whole point of this app is to abstract the filename completely. It doesn't matter what a package's filename is anymore, because you're browsing by using the metadata.

The package type has been added as a column.

First of all thanks for this great app. Thanks for your time and everything.
Your aforementioned column is not visible in my version of the software.I have just downloaded the software, and the first thing that came to my mind is that are those versions in your post different from each other,i have downloaded this one [http://dwl.xbox-scene.com/xbox360pc/organi...tent_Manager.7z]and can not seem to find that column that should tell me which type of package my content is.

Thanks a million

I develop it on Win7x64. You need the MSVCRT installed, and make sure you do the right one. I have both installed, so I can't say for certain which one is the right one, but the sqlite dlls are x86, so maybe that's the one you need. Or just do both to be safe.

That's a fair assessment. Give it a try when version 1.3 comes out. I guarantee you that whatever you're doing manually, it can handle at least half of it automatically and save you some time. I've put a lot of effort into making sure it works as both a tool for newbies just trying to FTP content and an organizer that will always tell you exactly what it's about to do and has done, so that really anal types can use it as well.

I will, for sure.  Maybe a better way to articulate my previous comment is to say if your tool had been available when I first got into the JTAG stuff, it would have become the linchpin of my setup--maybe it still will.  Looking forward to seeing the next version.

That was the same way for me.  Trying to work with Node21 on the xbox360 management side helped a lot, but not having something to handle from the PC direction sucked.  Looking forward to the next version.

Version 1.3 released.

Cheers for the update.

Is it possible to add the ability to read title info from game.iso files? - It would be a matter of opening the game.iso (360 formatted?) and grabbing the information from the default.xex contained within.

sweet looking program.

Thank you very much.  I'm going to give it a try for the first time this evening.

I use my internal hdd for storing only XBLA and DLC.  I play regular games from external usb hdd's

A few possible suggestions/ideas......but I don't know how feasable these are....but a couple of them in particular would be ideal.

1)  DLC/XBLA comparison list.  After it scans the 360 hdd for all the drive info on what DLC and XBLA you have for x games.....would it be possible to have it give a report or show what games or dlc you have missing/have/have-but-wrong-named a bit like xm360 used to do (but that was with XBLA only as far as I'm aware).  Been crying out for a content manager that could handle this for ages.

2)  The app to read the FSD xml files, and then add something that could pull down all the necessary covers and put them into the correct place.  I hate having FSD to do that, and waiting on the dashboard while its completing.....as if stop it, then it won't try to redownload the missing titles again and have to update each cover manually.

3)  Synchronising.  For the app to synchronise files that are on the internal 360 hdd, with those that are stored on a pc.  That way, can be very useful for adding new stuff to the 360, while keeping an extra backup on a ussb/pc drive.  It could also be ideal for those, like myself, that are about to install a new larger 360 hdd for transferring the info between the 2 hdds

I have a solution fpr your 2nd request: GaDaBaMa check fsd forum on off topic section for direct support from dev.
Its already working great. Just need a little more debugging. Now I don't re download assets every time I upgrade or just re install fsd2. smile.gif

What do you mean by "title info"? It already reads the game name, TitleID and MediaID from 360 ISO files. What more would you need?

QUOTE(Midnight Tboy @ Jun 18 2011, 09:15 AM) *

1)  DLC/XBLA comparison list.

2)  The app to read the FSD xml files

3)  Synchronising.

Jackkill is right about #2, check out gadabama.

As for the others:

#1 I'm not aware of any master game/DLC list like there are for other ROM scenes. abgx has a list of releases, but it doesn't contain enough information to match to individual content files. If you know of a regularly updated database of 360 content that contains more than just scene release names, let me know.

#3 This is possible, but it would be a lot of work to make it function reliably over FTP. There's already a helper function that can scan your 360 and show you if files on your PC are already on your 360 or not, but it requires enabling the beta/advanced features in the options. Then you'll have to figure out how to use FSD to map a network drive, which can be confusing/buggy, that's why the feature is currently hidden.

Thanks for the quick replies.

I forgot about GaDaBaMa tbh....which I saw briefly mentioned before I went on holiday.  Taking a look at it now, and posting for advice on it (regarding updating FSD and jqe360)

I suppose as for #3 (synchronising), it's probably not going to matter for most but would be great in distant future for keeping the active working drive and backup in top condition.

For a master DLC/XBLA list, I actually thought XM360 was redundant  (hadn't used it in such a long time now)....and I'd never tried the xm360server....but I've just took a look at it now, and ran xm360server /D and its now creating me a list of all DLC titles...prob take quite a while.  I don't know if that list is still maintained (if its managed by Node21 presumably?) vs using the older perl scripts.....but is there perhaps any way to use this info?

The older non-updated xbla file is in CSV format with the following fields

[0 day Attack on Earth]   03/02/2010   20   2.25   54   Night Missions Map Pack   4942E61AFD9154744E668C0B9AEFE57800AAEABE58.

Something looking in the form of how OfflineList used for things like NDS lists would be ideal, where it shows and can filter based on have, missing, and incorrect named based on the font colours of the title etc.

I meesed up when running the xm360server....forgetting to edit the cfg file....so as a result...the dlc csv saved to nowhere.

Just ran it again though, but for XBLA, which is quicker, and it is indeed still updated.  The most recent xbla title on there showing

58410b3f   15/06/2011   4   8537   Magic 2012

Re-running it for DLC now.  Hoping these csvs are of use?

I could email them if wish, to save having to run it yourself

If they are usable, then I think the only thing to add would be the delisted games, but don't think theres many of them

edit: DLC downloaded.  6083 entries included....seems fully uptodate comparing it with most recent known stuff

C:\WINDOWS\syswow64\abgx360.exe

and there is no way to change that

Also, can you email me a screenshot of the program with a bunch of files visible, showing their name and sizes and stuff? [email protected]

Just wondering....did you have any joy, or looked at, the csv files that come from xm360server for reports?.

I'd suspect the XBLA one would be the best to work from at first, rather than the DLC one due to the sheer amount of DLC out there until all working

Wow great work.. gonna download it right now and see how it handles DiRT 3 and the DLC I downloaded for it. Just got my jtag and noticed this hasn't been released for that long, seems like I got a jtag at a good time with all these goodies smile.gif

So would it be better to use GOD format rather then using Xbox Image browser or does it make any difference?? From the few files I have converted so far it seems like XIB is quite a bit quicker and files are a little smaller as well, I am also able to rename the folder. Weird thing is with Multidisc games it doesn't say which one is disc 1,2 or 3 in FSD2. If this program only handles GOD format I'll just stick with that. Is one format more stable then the other??

any chance of a duplicate finder in the next version? smile.gif

Just running through the app now, tidying things up a bit, and I've spotted a couple of duplicated DLCs on there.

plus one time when choosing Reorganise, I left it as the default Copy instead of changing it to Move (direct to a samba share on 360) so have a couple of extra dupes now! doh!.

Hi so I got a chance to use it a bit.. I just started playing Dirt 3 and downloaded a bunch of dlc and put it all in the same folder. And ftp it to my 360 internal HDD. Works fine DLC Shows up.

I grabbed all my DLC for dirt 3 off my xbox HDD and then opened it up on JCM and it created a new folder called DiRT 3 that I placed in the Content/00000 folder. I used the Output Path style: GameName/TitleID/ContentID/File so I drag that to my content folder but the DLC isn't working. Could the outpath style be causing an issue here?? I like it this way for ease of organizing.

I also thought that maybe cause the folder names didn't match, that could be causing a problem. I changed the Title ID folder to DiRT 3 to match the DLC folder but that didnt' work. I was suprised that even changing the Title ID folder to DiRT 3 in my GOD games folder that it still showed up in FSD2. Will I run into any issues if I Rename the Title IDs on my GOD games folders to the actual game name manually?? The covers seemed to still work.

I tried taking the GOD and putting it thru JCM as well to see if it could Rename the folder in the same way I did the DLC in the Output Path style: GameName/TitleID/ContentID/File     But it said Failed Unsupported File. Does this just handle DLC,XBLA, and avatar stuff??

I'm kind of confused about this. I know it allows me to see what the content is and give a description so you can organize it that way.  Which is really good. I watched the youtube video and see what your doing in JCM but I don't see what the end result looks like on the HDD. Like instead of all the Title IDs do you have Game names now in your GOD games folder, and the same with your Content/00000 folder does it show the actual game names too??

Sorry just trying to figure this out.. kind of hard without a tutorial, and seeing whats happening on the 360 HDD once the files are transferred.

I also tried setting up the SMB but am kind of having troubles. Know of any guides to make it work with vista and FSD2?? When I open up file manager in FSD it shows SMB it asks for a login and password.. not sure where to set this up. Any help would be awesome, just got this jtag not to long ago so still learning. Thanks

Any chance someone could help me out, I really want to get this content manager figured out. Could someone maybe post screen shots of how there content looks like on their 360 HDD?? Is it still showing up as Title ID folders or have they been renamed to the actuall game name??

How come when I put the GOD thru content manager I get an unsupported file?? Is this manager just for DLC XBLA and Avatar stuff??

Thanks guys

If you convert an ISO to GOD and then browse it with this program, it should show up. JTAG Content Manager definitely supports GODs.

Thanks.....finally had chance to use it the last few days (aswell as GaDaBaMa).

Worked a treat to tidy up my 360 drive a bit, aswell as some new content that would've taken ages otherwise.

Don't suppose you managed to have any joy looking at xbla/DLC reports from xm360? smile.gif

GaDaBaMa, when you import the FSD data, shows for each individual game, DLC and whether 1) You have it, 2) you don't, and 3) you have but its not in the xm360 db (colour coded).......but as far as can tell no way to get a big list, just a single game at a time

Would be great if it could do similar, but show it all as a full list of have/missing/notinlist for all the games at once (sort of like how offlinelist displays)

I also second the ability to rename.....to comply with fatx naming convention.

As I've discovered that over time, some of my DLC has been over the fatx limits.......so whilst using XEXMenu to do the transfer from my usb drive to the internal......as xexmenu doesnt give any message to contrary, it simply doesnt copy the file....so lost quite a few bits and pieces

I don't understand... Are you saying you'd like to see this feature? Because it already exists for XBLA and DLC files. Select some files, hit the broom icon to "clean them up" and choose rename.

Oh does it?  Cool!  As in, some files, not the folders, for whatever reason, to begin with, when on the pc, the filenames are way too long so will not install on an internal drive....unless originally renamed manually (which hadn't noticed at the time before changing my hdd)

I tend to use the Move organize mode (to a "Sorted" folder, before transfer to usb on the 360).....so does that also auto rename too as part of its process?

Yep, that's the way to do it. Rename then move, or move then rename.

I'm still having the same problem with renaming. When I unrar all my DiRT3 dlc into the 434D083D folder manually and ftp it to my 360 works fine.

When I use content manager to create a folder for the DLC and choose output path gamename/title ID/contentID/file I get a DiRT3 folder and transfer it to my 360 via my own FTP but it doesn't show up once I open the game and check for extra cars. Whats going on here?? I deleted the folder and tried other ways like putting the 434D083D folder on first then renaming it with FTP or renaming it first then FTP and still no luck.

How are you guys renaming the DLC?? Maybe its just this DiRT3 DLC thats causing problems. I can Rename the folder for my GOD games and DiRT3 still shows up fine in freestyle dash. I also renamed the limbo folder thats in the content folder and that has no issues loading up.

I pretty much tried every way to rename this folder, but for some reason its not showing up once the game loads and checks for the content.  Only way its recognizing it is when I use the original GameID.

anyone had this issue with any other games.. if someone has DiRT3 and dlc could they maybe give it a try.

as far as I'm aware for the 360 itself, for DLC to be seen it must be in the /title ID/contentID/file format.  Any other layout and I don't believe any game will see it.  I don't think theres any way to get around that (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong though)

Other layout options are more for archiving/sorting out your files on a pc based on gamename, for those that prefer it that way

XBLA and GOD games would work within FSD, as FSD itself is scanning all subfolders to find that sort of content, before a game is ran (and in effect mounting the game when you load, a bit like a virtual drive I guess)

I have to say again how much I love this app!

I don't suppose you might consider porting it(or a basic management version) to Andriod? (I would sure buy that from the app store ;-)

Would it be possible to have some sort of integration with apps like ISO2GOD? or perhaps some of le fluffie's functions eg; for extracting avatar items, game save stuff etc..

Also can u have more than one home folder? (Being able to do that would be handy as content often cannot fit on one 2tb drive etcc.... As long as it didn't create 'issues' of course ;-)

Donation button would be nice also :-)

Thanx again sooooo much!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/love.gif)

Android port: I can't see myself doing this, sorry. I love my android phone, but I have a laptop if I need to do something complex.

Integration with ISO2GOD: Looked into this, but ISO2GOD doesn't have any way to hook into it, ie: command line or drag and drop.

More than a single home folder: It's not impossible, but it would be a bunch of code for limited use. If 20 more people asked for it, I'd consider it, I guess.

Donation: There's an email address in the readme, feel free to drop me a line if you really want to. It's not something I actively ask for, but I won't turn a nice gesture down.

Fantastic app, thanks!

One request I have though; is there any chance of getting support for network browsing? I realise I can map a network drive instead, but having native network browsing (similar to Network Neighbourhood/Network in Windows 7) would be fantastic.

Some questions:

1) is it possible to ftp to a specific folder? (usb0:\\xbla\0000000\........) I have a very small internal hdd and so i put all my xbla games to an external hdd

2) would be great if it could scan all of the folders that are set in freestyle dash (i have my 360 games on usb0:\\games, my xbla games on usb0:\\xbla and so on)

The protocol used for mapping drives (SMB/CIFS) is the same protocol used by network neighborhood when you browse other PCs/devices. They are one and the same.

Feature #1 will probably show up in a future release.

Feature #2 probably won't, at least not in any fully-automated fashion. If you wanted to use the experimental fsd smb drive mapping feature, you could map drive letters to the usb drives as well as the internal hdd, and that would do what you're wanting.

Thanks for a great product!
I have a problem that JCM cannot move or rename GOD containers. It just outputs Failed in result column for all GODs, including those converted from NXE containers with NXE2GOD on the console itself. Any ideas why and what should I look for?

Several suggestions.

1. When renaming, delete empty folders (including all parent ones) if a file/GOD container has been moved out of it and the folder ended up to be empty. That should be an option and be default it should be enabled.

2. Add a custom template ability for renaming/moving for different types of content. I would like to have something like
{Type}/{GameName}/{DlcTitle}/{TitleId}/{ContentId}/<File(s)>
for DLC content and
{Type}/{GameName}/{TitleId}/{ContentId}/<File(s)>
for everything else, including GODs and XBLA games.

That will allow to save disk space: ditch GODs, which are easy to find because they can be reconstructed from ISOs and keep DLCs which are not so easy to find. Also it will reduce confusion with DLCs, as they can be easily identified by folder name {DlcTitle}.

Yes, Moving GODs is not supported, that's why they report "failed". Renaming them is unnecessary, so that's also not supported. I may add in support for moving GODs in the future, but it's not something that I'm actively working on right now.

Deleting them is funky/broken in 1.4, but the next version (1.5, should be out soon) has a fix that properly handles deleting a GOD.

I Developer named DWDW have created this Jtag manager httx://tinyurl.xom/XBLADLCtool

The application will scan the binary and rename the files properly.
It will also places them in their proper directory, as well as aid in the "batch extraction of this multitude of games."

Not the same as yours but it does have batch extraction.
There are a lot of open source code on the net for rar/zip batch extraction.

You dont have to make it so complicated. Where is the Archive-->Select Files-->Where to Batch Extract-->Scan, Rename, Patch, Transfer

If I had built the program from the beginning with the goal of supporting RAR'd files, it might not have been that much extra work. However now, with the program in its current state, adding in support for compressed files would indeed be a fair bit of effort. If I just add in a box that expands a bunch of RARs and then displays them for patching/transferring, that's no more elegant or useful than using something like 7-zip to do the extracting first. To add in fully transparent support for displaying files inside RARs as if they were already extracted (which to me would be the only reason to add RAR support at all) would be more than a just adding in some compressed file library and calling it a day.

I guess what I'm trying to say is: If all that's wanted is a batch-extract function, I believe there's no reason to add it into my app when other apps already do it much better. It takes just a couple clicks to have 7-zip batch extract some archives, then you can right click the folder and open JTAG Content Manager. This is the exact order of steps I use when downloading content, and it hasn't struck me as inefficient.

I appreciate the suggestion though, I wish fully transparent RAR support had been something I thought of when I was first putting the app together in my head.

Slims cant be jtagged, but the reset glitch will work.  It's not ready to function like a jtag yet, but eventually it should work out.

just a few recommendations for future developement that came to my mind when i had a look at this app:

- add the option to move the selected files to another folder on the same pc. for the times you want to move certain files to an external backup hdd wink.gif

- maybe you could add some nicer lists. html with extracted icons and extra-information would be the long-time goal, but short term a simple list of titles in human-readable form would be cool.

apart from that its really cool, already has much cool functions.

1. Already exists. Check some files off and click the broom icon. Set the operation to move, and pick the output method that's just titleid/contentid/packagename, and point it at the content/00..0000 folder on your external and you can move stuff directly into the right place for use.

2. The code for this is actually in the program, but I had to disable it. Extracting the icon from every single package took too long and used up too much RAM. I think if you can find an old version of 1.0 you can see what it looked like, but it was impractical to suffer a big performance hit for was was essentially just eye candy.

Would it be possible to sort of have a reverse option where it will list everything on the Xbox that isn't on the PC?  I'm wanting to pull all the DLC from the Xbox that I don't already have saved and would just do it all via FTP, but that would also pull all the GOD games, which would take forever.  So maybe how it has the option to show if it is on the Xbox maybe make another spot for on the PC, or a new section.

Sometimes when you reorganize the files, they got deleted. Happens several times to me.
Maybe when copy/move failed, you delete them anyway?

Can you be more specific? The application is just using the built-in managed .NET file copy/move methods, so there shouldn't be any errant deleting if a move failed. If you can give me more information about how it happened and what files you were working with, I can look into it. You can PM me with the information directly.

I read that you would support ftp to usb0 - usb1 why isn't that already been done?

I think you have programatically seth the root ftp path to hdd0, so just make that variable.

I don't have an internal HDD, so I cant use the great potential of your program...

Hello!

Thank you for making this tool. I have downloaded the latest version 2.1 but I am having trouble uploading games to my xbox.

My xbox360 is on and XeXMenu is started, clicking test with the IP in 360 Content manager indicates the Xbox is being found and can be connected to.

I'm trying to upload a small XBLA game however it simply says failed to upload. In the details it says File size (140mb) is different from file size transferred (0mb).
I've also tried doing unlock checked files before uploading as well unlocks successfully but still cannot be uploaded.

Am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It looks like the error regarding improper string format when selecting content is still not fixed...

Please fix this issue!!!

Meanwhile my workaround:

1. Go to your Control Panel and look for Region and Language (under Clock, Language and Region in Win7).
2. Change Format in first tab Formats to Englisch (United States).
3. (Re)open 360 Content Manager

I am new to jtag. I have slim with freestyle 2.2 dash 2.014699.0 . I have an external 2tb drive and an internal 120 drive. I want to run dlc's but am having a problem.  I found this program and I taught my prayers were answered. I try adding 2 different dlc's neither one works . I select it mortal kombat freddy and uploaded it. Then I tried the red redemption pack. They uploaded fine but are no where to be found. Is there something else I need to do.

Im sure you know what your doing dude but make sure you get the unlocked dlc for jtags as some dlc can be for unmodded consoles and need live accounts which obviously your exploited machne cannot entertain, they can still be used but need unlocking etc.Anyways im useless with homebrew so will probably be corrected on every point lol
Also, ive had many a time whilst FTP'ing (?) where a big files appears to have transferred but is knowhere to be seen,i find this usually if the title is too long or conflicts.I had this problem copying over seperate avi files with similar titles.

XFAT limits filenames to something like 42 characters, which severely curtails the usefulness of such a function. You're not the first person to request this however, so I will continue to consider it.

Can I use an ethernet cable to connect my latop to the console and use this content manager to manage the Xbox HDD attached to my console and the external USB hdd?

Great program! I use it all the time. I have a suggestion for the next release, as I've had to do this manually many times:

Add the option to change the Package Title, and maybe even another option to change the Game Name.

The package title is what actually shows up in NXE's menu, so I've had to manually edit the package file to get things the way I like it. Some of my games (Lips) all share the same game name, but weird package titles like "Lips disc 17". ISO2GOD lets you name the game, but it changes both the game name and package title, which I didn't want. Here's how it is done:

To rename the game in the dashboard:

I will be using Mass Effect 2 - Disc 2 LIVE file renamed to 454108CE2

1. Open 454108CE2 in a hex editor (I used WinHex).

2. Go to offset 0x412, you will see the current name of the game. <----THIS IS THE PACKAGE TITLE

3. Change the name: I changed it to "Mass Effect 2 - Disc 2" with hex:

CODE
4D 00 61 00 73 00 73 00 20 00 45 00 66 00 66 00 65 00 63 00 74 00 20 00 32 00 20 00 2D 00 20 00 44 00 69 00 73 00 63 00 20 00 32

Starting at offset 0x412. Spaces are represented by 00 20 00 in hex and each letter of a word must be seperated by 00 in hex.

4. Repeat the procedure at offset 0x1692. <----THIS IS THE GAME TITLE. NOT NECESSARY TO CHANGE

5. Go to 0x344 and select the rest of the file from this offset.

6. Compute the SHA-1 hash of this block and copy it.

7. Write at offset 0x32C with ASCII Hex. It should replace the old data.

8. Save and Transfer.

*(Source: http://forums.xbox-s...;#entry4643789)

I'm thinking about writing a program to do this myself, but I'm not a very fast programmer, and the payoff is small because I doubt the whole scene would use it like they do this app.

THANKS!

I want to thank you for this great app, I've had no problem accessing my 360 via smb from it.

It worked great when I was using the dashboard previous to NXE, being able to unlock any arcade game. However, I installed the NXE dashboard (updating dashlaunch and FSD in the process), and now ALL my arcade games show as demo. Even unlocking them with 360 content manager, they still show as demo.

I've tried chaing the ini option contpatch but it still doesn't work.

I guess this is some configuration error but I just can't figure it out. I have a RGH modchip. Does somebody have any idea what could be causing this and how to solve it?

Thanks!

Hi all

Great app.

I have both internal hd and a USB hd connected to my x360.
My internal hd is just a 120Gb so almost all my XBLA games is in my content folder on my 2tb usb hd.
Is there a way to change the upload path to my usb hds content folder instead of my hdd1 ?

I guess I could just connect my usb hd directly to my pc instead but it would be nice if i could upload
via the samba.

Thanx

First of all, this is a great app, I cannot imagine using my 360 without it now.
Apologies if that was discussed below, but would it be possible to implement a feature that would allow me to download files from 360 to my PC? I can browse the content of my 360 thanks to SAMBA, but I would like to be able to backup some of the data before moving onto a bigger drive and with your app it would be much easier.
Thanks in advance.

Guys, is there a way to use XM360's DLC_titles.csv and xbla_titles.csv with the content manager to do basically what you are able to do from within XM360 but from a PC??

If not that would be a nice feature... being able to check what you have against an updated database of DLC and XBLA should make managing even easier.

Request

Option to set where you would like to upload your GOD games to
I like to set the Upload path to my Games folder on HDD1:/Games or USB0:/Games for example.

For now, the application is limited to installing content in the "proper" location according to how the 360 expects the filesystem to be laid out. I've had some requests to allow uploading to custom locations, but not enough to encourage me to actually take the time to recode the upload function and add it.

Love this app!  It does wonders!

I was wondering if you could add in the next release a way to customize the output of the XBLA?  Currently you can only output (organize) using one of the 6 preset methods which is fine, but there is no way to specify your own output (kinda like MP3 Tags).

For example I would like to output a selected XBLA game in the following format:

Game Title (TitleID)\File

Just a thought.  Hopefully we can get something like this in the future.

Thank you again!

That feature (which didn't work like you describe) has been removed because no one really understood what it did. Currently if you want to view the contents of your 360, it must be on and the app has to connect to it.

1. There are other tools that are built to access XFAT filesystems, such as Horizon and PartyBuffalo.  If you want to copy content to a USB fat32 drive, you can use the content organizer for that, it has a method specifically for that use.

2. I was working on a feature along those lines but no one used it or even understood how it worked, so I removed it. The odds of it going back in are very, very low.

YES YES YES PLEASE!

Any update on this???

Every time I close the program, I lose the contents of the Xbox hard drive.  I thought one of the benefits of this app was to save that list so you can browse your library offline without needing the live connection to the Xbox.  Am I doing something wrong?

That feature (which didn't work like you describe) has been removed because no one really understood what it did. Currently if you want to view the contents of your 360, it must be on and the app has to connect to it.

Thx your great tools.

I suggest a features for future developments:

If it worked, why remove it?  I wish you had just explained how it worked instead of removing it.  That was my main interest in this application.

Please, please don't dumb down your product because a feature wasn't easily understood.  Being able to view content without requiring a live connection to the 360 would be incredibly useful.

I've got a 750GB internal HDD full of content, and it takes nine minutes to scan it.  If I click away from viewing the installed content for any reason, I have to run another nine minute scan just to view it again.  Not caching the content data turns using the application into an extremely frustrating experience for me.
