Title: Are Updates Worthwhile (same Dashboard Version)
Post by: Chrisoldinho on November 19, 2010, 12:23:00 PM
Hi,

I got hold of a JTAG a few weeks back and using Easy Freeboot went from 9199 to 12611 no problems, and got the MS update on etc.

I keep reading about new versions of fb build coming out and freeboot toolmaker.

Is it worthwhile reflashing the nand with these updated versions i.e. dump my current 12611 nand using flash360 and re-flashing to take advantage of things like the AP2.5 removal and cleaned up code..

Or is this not necessary. Sorry for the relatively basic question, i'm just trying to get my head around whether it's worthwhile updating 12611 from time to time as new tweaks come out for the firmware or once you are on 12611 you are set until a new dashboard comes out and then the fun starts all over again...

Thanks, Chris.

Excellent - so effectively I can just keep updating dashlaunch to keep 12611 fully up to date?
