Title: Abgx & Split Vid
Post by: headonism on March 26, 2010, 02:15:00 AM
While using AGBX to check for stealth & Split vid, im unsure of what the standard setting are that i need to put all tabs N checks on.

I am currently just setting it to AUTOFIX LEVEL 3, but while looking through all the TABS i came across a check on MISC TAB called SPLITVID: this has 3 drop downs from which i can choose one ( its currently set to LEAVE IT THE WAY IT IS ) but i have noticed that the top choice is ( ADD IF IT DOESN'T EXIST OR INVALID )

So really my Question is What are the best standard setting so that i know all my backups are done correctly

you definitely want to set splitvid to 'add if doesn't exist or invalid'.  As for the other settings, the only one you need to set is autofix level 3.  Once both settings are as they should be, then go to the top and save settings as 'default', that way you won't have to worry about setting them again.

Personally I would keep mine set at Level 2, Level 3 will force ABGX to patch your SS files with the online database's.  If you're not using a Kreon/0800 drive, for ripping; then this is recommended.  Otherwise it's more or less a personal option.

FACTS- Level 3 will patch your image with the online database, especially in the past few months, it seems ABGX wants to auto patch EVERY game I do.  So I dropped mine to LV2.  ANYONE can upload files to ABGX to be used for patching.  I'm sure they have some form of checks done, but some get nuked.  AFTER they have already been ?approved?  USED.  Wouldn't surprise me if MS or just annoying kids have intentionally uploaded false(banning) files.

My two cents.

Being a member of the abgx360 team, I can assure you that not just anyone can upload files to the abgx360 database.  Your rips are probably getting patched due to the fact that you have a pressing that's not in the database.  All of our uploaders are using 0800 ONLY to rip.  And kreon isn't recommended for ripping at all since it doesn't support ssv2.

But aren't there also SSV1 rips in the database - when was the 0800 requirement introduced?

of course there are ssv1 rips in the database, ssv2 wasn't even 'required' til LT came out.  As far as the 0800 requirement, it was added sometime around the release of ixtreme 1.5 I believe.
