Post by: ToBbErT on August 11, 2009, 10:45:00 AM
Yes you can use usb2sata but only with hitachi drives. I heard you can better avoid these multi adapters and its better to use something like this http://www.allekabel...TA-Dongle..html

i Dont know which is the newest SLAX but iXtreme 1.5 is the newest firmware for you drive...

Heres The Tutorial to Flash your Drive Link

Just Search Google For iXtreme 1.5 and JungleFlasher, you have one of the easyest drives to flash so there should be no problems.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the link gaylord, lol. I can still watch that movie and laugh every time. On a serious note, I have three questions:

1.) I'm guessing the newest firmware, 1.51 iXtreme, is within jungleflasher? Therefore, there's no need for me to download the firmware separately?

2.) What is the difference between PortIO and Win32? And which one will I have? My PC is a Dell Dimension 3000 if that helps.

3.) Can I connect my drive to a PC via a USB 2.0 to SATA adapter cable without any problems? If I can, I'd rather use an adapter. It will be less things to buy. However, if I have to buy a SATA PCI card, then I'll suck it up.
