Title: Do I Need To Update My 360 Firmware To Avoid The Banhammer?

I was wondering.. how often do you need to flash your dvd... Like if it is working and you stealth checking your backups are you pretty much as safe as you can get? I thought then the only way to be more safe was to update your firmware on the drives as needed... is that correct?

Think of it as relating to anti-virus protection. You wouldn't use Norton from 2002 and never upgrade/update it, right?


can you point me to a faq on how to do this and stuff.... like do i need to take my box apart all the trime or can I now it is cracked do it with some kind of application that run though the network or from disk on teh 360... if you can point me to a 'updating firmware" faq i would be very happy.

This looks crazy complex... I got the box moded when i paid for it form the store... now that it is modded tehre is now way to run a app on the xbox itself to update the drive firmware? Or do you have to pull the entire thing apart and stuff like in that manual?

like i said i got it form the store flashed.. so are you saying that you need to pull the xbox apart to do this?

honestly, don't do it.  Go to the modders section and find someone close who can do it.
