I can't understand why some folks using the same controller I'm using (VIAVT6241A)can have a successful firmware flash but I don't. I can see that happening if my SATA card did not see the drive because the ports were not mapped but that is not the case. It can see the drive and create the undo.bin file but it also produces a EC.BIN file that no one in this forum has been able to explain. For a moment, I thought the drive might have been bad but I was able to run & load WinXP.
The Drive I'm using is a WD1600BEVS-22UST0 and the motherboard is a K7N2G by MSI with a SATA Promise controller that I'm not using for the flashing of the drive.
I hate it but I may just have to shell the $149 to M$.
