Cool, splitvid safe now?  blink.gif

Its not a normal full release and doesn't contain an installer. Others have used it beside myself without any reported problems, but I haven't looked at it in quite some time.

This version resets your settings and it defaults to the new splitvid, if you don't like it be sure to go through the options.  I did add some new stealth checks, but never really finished the UI to the point I was comfortable. Maybe after some feedback I'll finish it up.

Remember splitvid is just an option and is not needed for IXtreme firmwares. Confusing huh.  smile.gif

thnx Redline99.
I did find splitvid does not work well with my recent backup. It caused Blue Dragon hang when loading ingames movie. It does not happen at the begin but somewhere in the middle of the games...may be between the layer? If used the xstremv3 format, it works fine.

It doesn't work for me

I get:

Error Initializing ASPI or SPTI interface

all the older versions work though. I am using vista though. I should try it with XP that may be the problem.

Works fine for me on Vista Ult. (64 bit)
Unpacked and ran, no installation required.

Bit of a relief as I had no luck with previous versions because of the mscomctl problem. (UAC on and off)

Nice one Redline, thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

go into the folder of an older build, copy the FrogASPI.dll file to the folder of the new build. it should now work fine for you.

It means that you shouldn't use those images to play on anything before IXtreme. If you are using IXtreme then don't worry about it.

im kinda confused, should we use this new version or stick with 2.5?  i havent had problems with 2.5 and i kinda want to stick with what is working...   Or is it recommended to use 2.6 because of the splitVid?

Hi there. It seems as though my XBC no longer wants to even read a 360 disc. I throw it in the drive, select the correct drive in the program, and it just spins and spins, never giving me a selectable grey button. Yes, I've read the other material, and yes I do have the right drive selected. This is clearly something else.

Any ideas?

Hey Guys,
I have a question, just updated to 2.6, I have one question,
My old backups were 7,395,392 in size (using 2.5) - successfully backed up about 20 games no problems...
I just backed up an older game w/ the new 2.6 and its 7,651,262 in size...

what with the 300 megs?

Can anyone explain this?
Is this the new normal size?

Thanks a lot fellas and Great Job!!!

Jaboo - Use Mulleter to try to fix it

dbldown768 - If you like 2.5 with now issue it fine to use. 2.6 was just some small changes

tinpanalley - No idea without mor info.. does 2.5 work, does schtrom's work, do you have a log?

EGranuloma - Sent a pm explanation also.. but basically that is splitvid at work. It is completely optional, if you don't want the new format you can turn it off.

First off, thanks for all the hard work Redline!

Second, I have a question about the new SplitVid ISO patching. When patching with SplitVid, it looks like it modifies the layer data in the ISO. Here's my question: do we still burn using the original .dvd file, or do we burn straight up with the modified .iso? I'm a little confused about the function of SplitVid and how it relates to layer breaks, so any technical explanation would be wonderful (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!

Wompa164 - the layerbreak is the same as normal.. just the video layer1 data is copied to the correct positions...which would be AFTER the all of the game data to obtain the correct PSN.

On the .dvd file.. I never use it.. the app can detect the correct layerbreak on it's own.. but it you have a .dvd file it will use it... (It was intended to be a way to bypass the internal app layerbreak calculation or to use with other burning apps such as ImgBurn) you should be able to just delete or rename it and my app will autodetect.

redline, i am just a bit curious what the difference is between the splitvid in 2.5 and in 2.6. if i do a stealth check on my splitvid images that were created using 2.5 the splitvid format says not tested and it fails the check. while images made using 2.6 will pass

Redline99 thanks a lot for this great tool.
my comment is the same as Garnett_Buck's.
i have a samsung drive with extreme4.2b firmware.
i only play offline. i have backed up at least 30 games with version 2.3 and 2.5.
i ve always used default options.
now with 2.6 what is the best compatibility option for my case? splitvid or not?
i ve backed up nba2008 with splitvid and works ok
does splitvid works better with extreme or iextreme firmware?
or works fine for both?
thanks in advance man. smile.gif

I have Madden 08 and PGR 4 and have backed them up sucessfully with XBC 2.5 and SH-D162C w/ Kreon v.81

I just picked up Call of Duty 4 over the weekend and tried to back it up with XBC 2.5 but keep getting this error around 44% :

-----------------------------------------
DVD Read Error
Partition Offset LBA 1562580
Overall Offset LBA 1692404

Name: \village_assault_load.bik
-----------------------------------------

I downloaded XBC 2.6 and tried that but still get the same thing.

I haven't had any problems backing up any of my other games, just this one.

Any ideas?

Thx

hey everyone,
i hope you all got it working with out errors now.  but i was having a similar problem with NCAA Football 08.  at 49% it would drop to 0.0x reading and just a pattern of spin up and spin down.  after restarting a few times and cleaning the disc with a disc buffer, when it got to the same place it slowed down, before an error dialog popped up, i hit the eject button on the drive and the disc came out, the dialog popped up asking if you want to zero it out.  i put the disc back in, closed any auto play crap, then hit retry on xbc 2.6 and it went right to 50% and finished with no problems.  maybe that was a hiccup i dont know.  then call of duty 4 i just got i tried to back it up and the log kept saying how many bad sectors it had and eventually failed as early as 13%.  tried multiple times, same result.  so i have a phillips dvd drive cleaning cd and i ran that and it said cleaning finished.  then when i opened xbc i clicked the farthest right tab and changed the read speed from 12 which had an asterisk for what it defaulted at.  changed it to 8x and then started.  completed 100% no errors and burned with img burn and worked perfect.  if you are having similar problems it never hurts to try (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
also i was using a  SH-D162C with kreon .81

good luck!!!

I see this when I put a 360 disc in as well.  I don't know if this is a problem or not, but there is nothing in the readme relating to this issue.  Any info would be helpful as I do not want to risk losing some DLDVD's to this.

Also, just noticed that the start button is greyed out.  This kinda sucks as I just bought and flashed this drive....any info would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the 2nd post, couldn't edit.

EDIT:

Ok, now I see what the 1 to 1 copy text is about.  THat is about copying xbox 1 games using 'Sector Mapper' ( I am assuming) BUT the start button is still greyed out even after reading the disc info which appears to be correct, ie: no 4TB issues.

Forgot to mention.  Using a TS-353b flashed to SH-D163b SB01.

You probably should download

XBOX BACKUP CREATOR 2.8

you are outdated, so it might not work with your version of kreon drive.

Got a drive flashed with Kreon 1.00 but can't get Schtroms or Xbox Backup creator 2.8 to use it.

It was a TS-353B and my SATA is a Via vt6421 / vt8237

There's not much info in this drive, but when it comes time to rip the game the button to start is "greyed out".
