If this is the sticky to find XBox Backup Creator, isn't v2.5 old when I find v2.9 via google searches?  I want to be certain I'm finding the most update to date proper app

Last version they did was 2.9.0.425

Xbox Backup Creator v2.5
Posted by XanTium | March 23 23:35 EST | News Category: Xbox360

Redline99 released a new version of Xbox Backup Creator(info), a tool that will allow you to easily dump, create/patch and burn Xbox and Xbox 360 images with full support for SS, DMI and PFI.

What's new/fixed:
* Lost - Change log due to bad happenings on my USB KeyDrive (Below is what I can remember, I'm sure there was more though)
* Added - Ability to replace file in ISO (Up to user to know what they are doing). Easy to replace with a smaller file or Replace with a file that falls within same sector space. The file entry in the Dir Table will be patched to the correct new file size. Possible corruption if you replace with a file larger than the original. Use at your own risk.
* Changed - FW Branding Check to be disabled by default
* Changed - A couple tool tips to reflect correct verbiage
* Changed - DVD Finalize time-outs
* Changed - Command line parameters to ImgBurn depending on version. This is to deal with the .dvd message if it exists.
* Fixed - 64bit IO in Image Browser

does this new version address games that went gold after 1/19/2007 with the new video partition size that make it stupidly hard to rip?

Need a little help. I have a copy of Forza xbox 1 backup prepatched n all that. Using xtreme 5.2 firmware. Can I burn it on a single layer disc? (didn't work when I tried) I thought xtreme supported single layers now.  Out of dbl layer disc to test on.

Anyone find a solution/workaround to the UAC issue? In order to start the app, I need to:

a) boot into Windows XP, which isnt a huge issue, but XBC is now my only app that doesnt work in Vista

OR

cool.gif re-enable UAC, then reboot. This requires just as much time as step a, so I usually dont do it.

I just want to say that I love this program, and I'm not complaining in the slightest, but those who are using Vista can confirm the royal pain that is UAC. I have had it disabled from day one, and cannot go back, even if it does fix this minor issue.

Also, I have not tried this version, but from Kharoof's post, it seems to still exist, but I will try it when I get out of work.

Thanks

Hey quick question. I'm trying to backup Virtua Tennis 3. When the image is done I go to stealth check and it passes except it says Vide is Questionable! I tried extracting and injecting as well with schtrom and XBC and still get that message when I run stealth check. Any idea what's causing this and how to fix it? Thanks!

Dont think the video is questionable is a problem i get it everytime with the new xbcr . think its just normal as it probly cant be sure with videos i wouldnt worry, it should burn fine!!!

If same result with both XBCr and schtrom, surely all ok.

You can also try the image check of schtrom.

but I would just burn it and forget about it, nothing very essential.

I've been trying for the last few days to get XBC 2.5 to work on my computer.  I have a TS-H943 360 drive, and a via pci sata card with a 6421 chip set.  I was able to successfully flash my 360 drive (I think) with 5.2 ver b firmware.  I am able to locate my 360 drive in windows by placing my 360 drive into 0800 mode, I have XP with SP2.  And XBC v2.5 also is able to locate my 360 drive.  Now for my issue.  Every time I try to rip my game onto my hard drive XBC freezes anywhere from 10% complete to 65% complete.  Also my computer slows way down and won't let my restart, I have to acutally unplug it.  I have tried this with multiple games, on both of my sata ports on my card (in port 2 my computer becomes so sluggish I can't even open XBC).  I have also tried it in SPTI mode and ASPI mode (I honestly have no idea what either of those mean).  I have tried about a dozen times still with no success.  Have I missed anything?  Thanks.

I'm running Windows Vista Prem using the newest XBC software, and running the Kreon drive/D163A. I did use the setup install before I used the program

I've been able to rip before with older versions of your software but when I upgraded, it stopped working. I tried going back to an older version and it still wont work. It unlocks correctly...then it will start ripping. At 28% it comes up with an error saying "A read error occurred in the file system data area. If this data cannot be recovered or you choose to zero fill this section it will result in an incomplete back up. Partition Offset LBA 925648, Overall Offset LBA 1055472" Its doing it with all games now when I try ripping. This particular one is Call of Duty 3, which I know I've ripped before.

i've got windows vista ultimate with a sh-d162c drive. i run any version of this program (well, 2.3, 2.4, and 2.5) and the "start" button is greyed out, with or without a dvd in place. i get a missing .ocx file when i attempt to run the program in administrator mode, and turning UAC has not helped either.

any help?

EDIT: sorry, it's 64 bit edition, if that matters.

My IDE cable died (thought it was my HD...BOOT DISK FAILURE!), so I replaced it & I'm back up running again. Now I'm trying to make a backup of my disc of Earth Defense Force 2017, and it shows it as only 5.32 Meg. I remember seeing this way earlier (first version of XBC), but don't remember the fix. Can someone help me out, as the search revealed nothing. I tried playing a DVD movie - but that didn't work. Thanks

The first two times I hit start, it would read it as only 5.32 M and create that .iso. Knowing that wasn't correct, I uninstalled/reinstalled XBC 2.5....same thing. After a second uninstalled/reinstalled - for some reason that did it. Back to the 7+ Gig. All is working, sorry to bother. Still don't understand what happened. blink.gif

that is strange , you can also test with Schtrom.

note that if you have that problem with both it could be the hardware. try moving you Kreon master/slave, secondary/primary IDE as a first step.

Using build 2.5 0235, XBC sees the drive and disk ok but the read options stay greyed out.

The drive is a SATA SATS-H353A flashed with the SH-D163A version of kreon 0.80 running on a via8237 rev A2 (according to bios) chipset. Latest drivers, bios, firmwares on everything.
Schrom and wxripper cant see the drive at all but i can rip xbox360 data using XDVDMulleter (for instance, just cause has $systemupdate, archives and FMV folder and default.xex and xbox360_file_order.log and i can rip them to hd) so the drive is defo working.
Any ideas?

Update: OK still no joy with XBC, but ive now made 2 working rips using xdvdmulleter so the drive definitely works and it looks like its just XBC doesnt like it for some reason.

Redline99 - if you want to try and address this problem ill give you whatever help you need man. Doesnt look like itll take much of a fix.

For the 5.32MB problem, try going to Drive Tools tab and clicking Unlock Drive.

That should read the full game at 7GB. I have to do this for all my games I backup using XBC 2.5

Upgraded my SH-D163A to Kreon 1.00 as well. Also get the grayed out button on XBMC now and Schrom tells me drive has kreon but is reporting as a DVD-ROM?

Also, I did downgrade to stock firmware before upgrading to 1.0 as it was running .8 before. Any ideas? The flasher won't let me downgrade it back to .8.

NM figured it out. Had to uninstall slysoft anydvd and reboot even though it was disabled. I guess it still takes control of the drive even when disabled.

Hi all, i`m new to the whole 360 scene. I have just ordered a SH-D163B. Will that work ok with Xbox Backup Creator v2.5?? Now I have to just sit and wait a week for it to arrive to try it.

Thanks for posting the file Redline99. Much appreciated.
