Posted by XanTium | February 4 16:46 EST

Badsheepy released a new version of XDVDMulleter(info), an ISO extraction/creation/rebuilding tool for Xbox and Xbox360 discs with several features making it useful for more precise dumps as required by xtreme firmwares.
From readme/nfo:
Quote

Just a quick update to fix a stupid flaw making dvd5 isos much too big

Fixed in b3:
* DVD5 ISos are now resized properly.
* Rebuild no longer lets you attempt to clone a filesystem from a folder.

Image writing failed: An attempt was made to move the file pointer before the beginning of the file.
I tried several titles, from file folder, with and without .lyt, create dvd5 iso, universal SS, no dmi/pfi
Also, checking for cross-linked files results in an unhandled exception.

Can XBC inject ss and video into padding area of iso? Or can it replace quix craxtion & moogui while utilizing lyt files? I just want to play my xbox1 backups on sl discs on my x52c 360.

XDVDMulleter is NOT for ripping games.
It just resizes dvd9 -> dvd5 and vice versa
and some other random things
it doesnt work on 360 ISOs

With regards to errors, i will look into that now. Its probably something I broke, cause im sure it was working a while ago tongue.gif

Yeah, it replaces those tools as well as xbefix. Plus adds video files etc.

TinkeringAndTampering: The crosslinking files bit was a stupid bug, i fixed it in new build, but i cant replicate your problem making ISOs from folders. Could you tell me what game it was exactly you were using, so i can try to reproduce it.

As always, thanks for the feedback. Specially the error reports, cause most of them are stupid stuff i didnt think to retest when changing things.

First I picked MX vs ATV Unleashed but I tried a few others and got the same results.
Make a new iso --> tick 'iso from folder' --> (browse to folder) -> Create dvd5 iso --> (detects ntscu/j, all ok) --> use universal ss --> no media stealth --> load the layout file from ?disc? (here I browse to it on the hdd) --> start --> I get the eror immediately after it does the video partition.
Same thing with Lego Star Wars 2, Madden 07, Open Season...I think its irrelevant of the title...something in the choices I made. The iso grows to 387 Mb before the error.
Currently rebuilding a Madden 07 iso, even though its not backwards compatible. This option doesn't error, and I'll soon see if the size problem is fixed. Nope, its still making the iso too large for sl. The Madden image I tried to rebuild was made with moogui. I used padding with a 20Mb outer edge buffer. So its 4.34 gigs or 4,559,582 KB. After rebuild it was 4.37 gigs or 4,590,144 KB.

4.37gig fits on a dvd for me...
In fact, its a hardcoded value it resizes too, not a bug this time
Could you tell me the exact size of your blank media?
I have tried dvd+r, dvd-r and dvd+rw and all fit an iso of that size on easily

If its different size media I will add an option to select which.
With regards to the end sector padding, have you ever actually had an ISO die when you didnt use it?
cause i have it implemented, but no way of setting the value in the gui cause i didnt see it as important.
If you think its a helpful option i will add it later

Thanks for replying smile.gif

Does this prog "repair" a patched iso?? Like a back up that was created with dvd2xbox or qwix??
I tried to do this and burn to a dvd+r and a dvd+rw with clone cd.  My 360 proceeded to inform me that it was an xbox original and wouldn't play.

it is probably something that I am doing wrong or it could be the fact that I have a hitachi 59 flashed with garyopa stealth v2.3 rev 2.

Hitachi's don't like dvd5, right ??

Please advise, i'm probably barking up the wrong tree.  biggrin.gif  lol

Thanks!

If you ftp a dvd2xbox'd game to your pc, you need to delete the default.xbe and rename the one with _orig at the end to be the executer. (delete the _orig) I don't know if mulleter requires this step or if its integrated.
Badsheep I'm using verb's bitset to -rom. Maybe I should try clonecd instead.
Hmm I decided to use moogui to make an image of mx vs atv, and then rebuild that iso instead of doing it from file folder....same result...

Hitachi dvd drives on the 360 will not play xbox1 games on dvd5's. You need to use dvd9's(dl discs).
The backups I had were not working until I used the layout files.  Is there any way badsheepy that you can incorporate the layout files into the program.

Also I read your reply about games not needing the layout files, you mentioned that games should still work but  slower.  My games would not go past the start menu for some strange reason, until I used the layout file.

THANKS.

Absolutely great apps, again big thanks Badsheepy

1) It would be nice that some members do (as they are suppose to) a minimum reasonable effort of searching before posting. Many obvious questions, for which the answer would have been found easily. By respect to Badsheepy and all the time he invests in helping us, plse read the following extracted from the rules and thks for your cooperation wink.gif

QUOTE(From the rules @ Dec 2006)

Making Posts/Threads/Topics on these forums:

...

With that said, it is recommended that before you consider making a post in ANY forum on this site that you first review the Pinned/Sticky Topics at the top of the forum you are interested in. Chances are, anything you might want to ask, has already been asked and answered there. If not, do a search. No one likes to answer the same question a 1000 times. If you make a post that has been done many many time before, staff might close it, or merge it with others.

So.. before making a post, check existing topics.. both pinned, and by search. Still think you should/can make a post?

2) Lets all remember that we do not allow discussion on doing Backup from another backup at XS. We expect all backup processes to start with the original disk. The files on your Xbox 1 HD is a backup and starting the construction of another backup from them is not allowed as the end results would be multiple backups (one on your HD and one for your X360).
If you have the original, you can put it in the XBOX 1 DVD and start Craxtion (qwix or any other) to place it straight on you PC hd (or use your X360 tools: Drive and XBCr) and continue the process from there with XDVDMUlleter (or similar).

We accept discussion on this process or any other process that brings you from your original to that original and ONE backup (including the one on the Xbox 1 HD).

again thks for your understanding

It should do that automatically for you with both _orig.xbe and .bak files. That bit is pretty untested though, as
most any generic patcher that would create those files should give an un-patchable xbe.

man128: I had considered it, but i cant think of a way of implementing it just yet, and its not really a priority. Even if i did try, it would require a net connection, so its much easier to just download them yourself smile.gif

TinkeringAndTampering: Fixing the ISO size is trivial, i just need to change the hardcoded value. If you could tell me the size of your blank media, i will use that as the max dvd size (or provide a choice if it differs significantly). My sony dvd+r are actually 7mb bigger than the ISO size i use atm, but the dvd-r and dvd+rw are both 4,700,300,000 bytes (roughly). Imgburn will tell you the size of blank media, i dont know what else might do it.

I still have absolutely no idea what is causing the crashes you are seeing, as i cant reproduce them myself.
(With the exception of the crosslinking files thing, which is fixed in my latest non-released build)

Hopefully I will be able to find someone with a copy of MX vs ATV unleashed i can test with, cause unless i can reproduce it itll be impossible to fix. You arent alone though, cause someone else reported that problem with the exact same game.

Its probably because you dont have the .net 2.0 runtime.

How odd...using Scarface now...Nero told me the following: Data to be Written: 4,482 MB (4,700,614,656) Space Available: 4,482 MB (4,700,372,992)
Used Imgburn on the same image and it started without a hitch! Too bad it gives me the, "This is an xbox game disc. Please put it in your xbox to start playing" message.
