i don't understand why it's not working... it's networked correctly, i believe, to a wireless router. the 360 and pc are using cables tho. the 360 doesn't have any trouble connecting to XBlive either.
got the same problem and it still wont connect?

Mine keeps saying "Folder sharing is not started", and when I try to start it, it gives an error saying it might not have been installed correctly. I've reinstalled it like 3 times with no changes, it still doesnt work. Also when its installing, it can't authorize my 360 either. I'm running it on XP service pack 2, not Media Center. When I tried installing it on my dad's media center PC, it gave him some DRM errors and he had to system restore. The same problems he got with media center rollback 2...
EDIT: When I tried going to Administrative tools and then to Services, I clicked start. I get "Could not start the Windows Media Connect Service on Local Computer. Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start." Im going to search for Error 1068 to see if i can find anything...
Administrative tools and then to Services
Try to start Windows Media Connect Service
Upon receiving the error, Right Click on Windows Media Connect Service go to Properties
Go to Dependencies
Note each of the listed services
Go to each one and set them all to Manual...Then try starting the windows media connect service. Set the service to automatic aswell.
Note...you should have these servies enables:
SSDP Discovery Service
HTTP SSL
Universal Plug and play device host
I believe you also need windows firewall service enabled
Some firewalls (in particular winroute firewall) disables these required services.
Some firewalls...one in particular

i'm unimpressed with the mce on the 360. sure its nice to be able to listen to music and stuff thru the 360 and all but it wasnt worth the headache. xbox media center is so much more advancded compared to mce its not even funny.MS should have just asked the guys who made xbmc to do thir magic for the 360. it would have been alot easier to set up thats for sure. i just cant wait for the day that i can use xbmc on my 360.
Amen to that, preach on brotha!!!!
