Just to check the obvious, did you plug in both connections back to the drive? Is the ones on the motherboard connected? Do they feel loose?

Probably, you need a new drive. So you have to tried to load games and movies?

I have  modded xbox 360 that is NOT banned, and I do NOT intend to go on Internet with.
I want to be able to play original xbox games on, specifically Shrek Super Party

When I put my backup copy of Shrek Super Party into my 360 is says I need an update.

shrek super party is on the list:

On the xbox.com site is says I need update 9199 to play xbox games:

My question is:

Does 9199 mess up/brick/remove media center options from a unbanned, modded xbox 360
In other words, if I apply this update to my xbox will anything bad happen?
I plan to do the offline install of 9199 via USB key.

HEY ummmm. GET OUT OF MY POST IDIOT.

And the andswer to the other guy. it just sits at a purpleish screen asking for an update disc and i have swapped it with a 100% percent working drive and got the same thing.

Really? Even after you transferred the key from one drive to the next or swapped PCB's?
