Okay, just got a 360 for Christmas, we want to know how many online profiles can be created for one 360 unit, there are 4 of us here who want to play online with our own online profile, is this possible? If so, do you have to buy a live membership for each profile, or is 1 membership good per console?
Also, we have a modded xbox (original) and it is using the media center extender, I want to try the extender with the 360, is it possible to have them both setup and working independant of each other? We really like being able to watch things on the original xbox and want to leave it as is, it gets used a lot, no sign of that slowing up any either..
the new 360 will not be modded. looking for a used one to mess around with, then maybe..

1. You will be able to create enough profiles on the one console, but if all of you want to play online, you will need a Gold subscription for each of you.
2. Can you clarify what you mean by "we have a modded xbox (original) and it is using the media center extender" ? Do you mean XBMC or are you talking about the official media center extender (which I can't remember if it was actually ever released)? If you're talking about XBMC, then the best alternative is to stream media from an XP/Vista machine running WMP11. This will allow divx content to be watched. You can have this setup alonside XBMC with no problems as they use different methods of file sharing.

Th@nX for the reply, we kinda figured that about live...
as for the other, yes, I have the extender for XP media center on the original Xbox.
I loaded the one for the 360 anyway to play, they both still work fine so it's all good.
Just wish the 360 would play the divx and xvid movies, I read about the update but I can't get them to play, at least not streaming, I have a lot of them on a PC on the network.. The modded Xbox plays them fine, with XBMC and through the extender for media center, I haven't actually put a disk in the drive of the 360 and tried it, I am fussy and if it doesn't stream, I don't want it... Read about some apps that will do it, but my media center pc is taxed enough, it doesn't need anymore programs drawing resources..

You can definitely stream divx and xvid with the 360 as most people here are already doing it.
Check out the guides on Xbox.com to get this working through Windows Media Player 11.
You will need to be signed into Live the first time you do this to download the required media update.
