would this, in your guys opinions, warrant exchanging my unit for a new one?
what could cause this, since it wasnt hot, i had just turned it on...
the screen was bouncing around, well more like a little shaking than bouncing, but it wasnt pretty.
even the dashboard was doing it when i hit the guide button

UhOh... If I were you, I'd toss that one back to MS.
Might grab another from a store to keep you busy till she comes back though.
PS: Keep your hdd, dont want to lose your profiles. They'll supply you with another.
-
you know what causes that?
-
Crappy MS Hardware and lack of sufficient Beta Testing.

That same thing happened to me. I was playing multi-player in Russia. My xbox doesnt get too hot or anything after hours of play.
-
you think they would consider that a big enough problem to send me a new one even though it only happened once?
-
I had that exact same problem. I think it might be the GPU or something overheating because my xbox was hot. I called MS and sent it in (it was a core) and got a nice new 360 with chrome dvd bezel and hdd. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) You should probably send it back since you don't want it to start happening more often after your warranty expires.
-
well.. my stance on it is to wait it out as long into the warranty as possible so maybe a newer version is sent back
-
Right. It only happened once. My suggestion would be to spend more time playing the game, both for enjoyment and to see if it happens again.
