Post by: Ryanlash on December 31, 2005, 01:31:00 AM
Is there any hope on the horizon that people can use media connect to do more of the things MCE can now only do like stream vids.. and stream programs.. ?  or are alot of people goin to have to upgrade or install mce on there xp machine's just to get these features?

What were you looking to do with mce specifically? Run a program? Other mce software could easily do that, and you can add plug-in's too. Have you tried Snapstream Beyond TV, or Sage TV?

I  tried media portal... but i like the direct connectivity with media center.. im assuming MS only lets the 360 connect to mce and media connect...  Im also interested in the connection from the pc being shown in hd on the tv ... Right now svideo works ok and I have it hooked up to a hdmi cable but i can't show my hold desktop and webrowsing on the tv is possible but might be better
