Title: Pmii - Changing The Background Images
Post by: abit late on January 22, 2005, 08:29:00 PM
Could somebody please tell me how to get XBMC to load different background images for the different PMII screens?  I'm not expecting to be able to extract the textures files, just to throw some test images on the screen for now.

Searching for the answer to this tells me to...

QUOTE
just dump the pngs etc. in the media subdir and XBMC will load them just fine

I haven't been able to persuade XBMC to load my images yet, maybe I'm naming the png's wrong, must have overlooked something    Any guidance would be much appreciated  :D

Cheers

you have to rename your background image to "background.png"

For different backgrounds in each submenu you have to edit the xml-files "myprograms.xml" "myvideo.xml" "mymusicsongs.xml"... in each files change "background.png" to "bg-music.png" or "bg-videos.png" and so on.

don't forget to copy your images into the media-folder. <

Bob, you are a star.

I had been naming the my videos png files as per those referred to in the original myvideos.xml.

As you say it is only when the image and and xml file entry are changed to bg-videos.png that it works, which I find odd.

I have been making images of my own equipment and must say its looking good

I searched for ever before posting this question so thanks again

In the skin folder, eg for PMII, PAL 16x9

XBMC\skin\Project Mayhem II\PAL16x9

There you will find Home.xml, MyPics.xml, MyVideo.xml, MyMusic......xml, etc
