Hi I have some suggestions for important questions for ppl who have been banned and wish to post their data in the hope of being able to flash a console in the future without loosing sleep over it.

I know question 12 seems a bit pretentious and possibly a waste of time but there is some thinking behind it being there.

I got banned after and here is my theory on this update. There was an update that said it only updated WPA2 support. I donno if anyone even questioned this update because I have been using WPA2 on my wireless adapter for 6 months now so that was not an update.

all the info provided is the same for 2 consoles both where banned today, one of the consoles hasnt been online for weeks the other was online a few days ago without problem, both played a pre release game laterly, but the console that has been online had that game in the recently played games list and wasnt bannend until today... both consoles banned without the disc in the tray......

I flashed my Brothers drive approx 6 weeks ago using an old firmware (1.5) with the view of playing backup games but he never found himself in a position where he had a game to play, he only had originals. He was Banned at weekend. This has nothing to do with games, its more to do with the FW or the way I flashed it!

On a side note, out of my friends consoles who have been modded to 1.6, we have 2 banned benq's, 1 banned liteon (mine).... we all played together a few times early october. Little background info, both consoles modded in Late May/Early June within a few days of each other. Console #1's laser went dead within a week or two, has sat UNTOUCHED & DISASSEMBLED since early June. When console #2 was banned yesterday, through its working drive (with new key on it) into console #1, it was banned as it fired up. So most likely was flagged from bad/unverified rips in June, banned yesterday, and that eliminates the new dash updates as the culprit for at least one console.

in other news, i had been playing dj hero (retail disc, not a backup) every day since the ban wave started, as well as using the media center extender functionality. my system held out perfectly fine throughout the wave up until tonight.
tonight, i powered on my system, it logged into live as normal, i took dj hero out of the system, put a retail command and conquer 3 into the system. a few seconds after the tray closed (before i even got to start the game, and before the disc image got replaced with an actual image), my system disconnected from live, and when i tried to reconnect it said i was banned.

An update of this post, is that my friend logged into xbox live again yesterday and was still not banned. He is running an earlier drive which as far as I know is not compatible with the AP 2.5, so I'm leaning towards this to be honest at the moment.

Everything goes through autofix level 3 and I won't play anything until it's abgx verified.
edit: When I got the new console I made it a point to run all of my backup discs through abgx and throw out anything with minor errors that are theoretically fine with newer firmwares, such as 359 angles or bad splitvids. I also threw out anything that I remembered burning prior to release. Nothing's been run on this system that hasn't checked out with abgx 100%.

I had no issues at all. Then my brother comes home from gamestop with the new Modern Warfare 2. Instant ban as soon as the game boots up. I am not sure if that was attributed to the new Dashboard update or not. My dashboard has been updated for almost 1.5 weeks now. Guess thats why we always kept another clean Xbox.

I had not been online for quite some time, wasnt really using xbox at all. So a couple of weeks ago, got a 12 month membership to play borderlands online. Did play 1-2 times, and then I got MW2 and even though I did not play online, I did get some achievements before release date (and logged in to live with no game in drive). Also tried a couple of more games and then i pulled my ethernet cable to finish mw2. After it was released, I plugged the cable in and was insta banned.

Yes, played a certain new fighting game that is wave4, with the activate.iso. I played like 5-7 matches online. It was fully patched with ABGX to the point where everything PASSED (including "Stealth check," all CRCs, etc.), and it said "Verification was successful."

Yes, only with one wave4 at first. But AFTER being banned today, I used it to boot a certain newly released wave4 FPS just for a second, because I was afraid that all future games would demand updates, and that I wouldn't be able to play them because banned consoles can't connect to live. Then I remembered that they only prompt you to update for games when you're connected to Xbox Live.

Yes. I typically leave it at Level 2. However, if verification fails or stealth is uncertain (or something like that, I forget), then I switch to Level 3 and try again. I think after the update. I just turned my 360 on today (11/14/09) for the first time in a week. The last time my 360 was on was (11/9/09). That day, I signed on for fun, but instead of playing anything, I streamed media from my PC. The last time I played an Xbox 360 game (didn't PLAY online matches, but only signed onto Live) was 11/7/09 when I played a certain wave3 game that involves superheros joined together in groups of four at-a-time. When I first played that newly released fighting game (released on Oct 27) a few days after it came out, they made me do one of those quick updates before playing it. Then immediately after that quick update, they (meaning Xbox Live) made me do a bigger update (took maybe 10 minutes to complete). That's the same day I played a few online matches of that fighting game. Several days after that, my 360 was still fine (meaning not banned).

So... I've re-flashed another older console back to stock (it's been used MANY a time to flash other consoles thus e64 would have been tripped on it) This console has been offline for a while
I have a feeling they have actually found a way to detect FW either that or it's e64 by my estimates.
It seems to be tied in w/ new update so I flashed backto stock before letting it get update and so far this one hasn't been banned allthough it will take at least a week to find-out (I will know one way or another) I did stuff up in that when the new update went thru on my new test console I forgot to plug in the SATA cable btwn MB and ODD
My test may be imperfect but it MAY prove that it's NOT E64 for sure perhaps.PS: Those ppl worried about HDD locking etc.. NONE of this happend to me (I just am banned from online from that console) I will keep you all posted

Console must have been flagged a while back even though it wasn't banned right on the spot. The last time I played (early November), I wasn't banned. I didn't play it for at least a week, hoping things would settle down and a solution would be found. Then, with more considerations pointing towards the firmware, I flashed back the original firmware (powered the drive with a Connectivity Kit, not with the XBOX this time), hoping I'd be fine upon returning on Live since my firmware was back to the original. I guess I was wrong ... I'm glad I did a hard disk backup with Xplorer360 before going on Live!
