Hi there,
I am currently having a bit of trouble connecting to Xbox Live using my xbox 360 and a NetGear MR814 wireless router. The strange thing is when I connect the xbox to my router, the Xbox Live test claims that the internet is working, however, when it then attempts to contact live a red cross appears and it tells me that it can't contact live. I have researched this problem and some people have told me to open certain ports on the router but this has not worked. I have also attempted the tried and tested reset the modem/router but that hasn't worked either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have you tried manually assigning the xbox an IP address and correctly forwarding the following ports to the IP of the xbox on your router?
* TCP 80
* UDP 88
* UDP 3074
* TCP 3074
* UDP 53
* TCP 53
