Title: 2 Xboxes With Open Nat On 1 Router? Can Anyone Help?
Post by: Sandren on October 09, 2009, 10:49:00 AM
Hi everyone!

I have two xboxes360 and only 1 router, and it appears that I cant get open NAT on both of them. Port forwarding doesnt seem to work as both Xboxes need the same ports open. And DMZ can only handle 1 ip address.. Currently the first 360 that comes online will be open NAT and the other one will end up being strict which really restricts the connection when we play together.

I read somewhere that getting an extra router would solve the problem but is there any other/cheaper solution?

Thx in advance  smile.gif

You need a router that supports UPnP. It should then just work, no need to configure port forwarding or DMZ (each xbox configures its own ports using UPnP - they choose different ports automatically if the ones they want are already in use).

you can have 2 xboxes on the same router, just manually assign the IP on each xbox and port forward to the XBL live ports.

What router do you have?

Thank you for answering smile.gif

I will try port forwarding one xbox and dmz the other, and I will write back here when I have tried it.

The router is a "cisco epc2425" (some kind of mix between router/modem). I also have a "Linksys BEFSR41" that is not in use atm.
