all i want is to be able to stream my dvd's from my pc dvd drive to my xbox
That is possible, I do that all the times with the dvd's that I have on dvd+r because my xbox doesn't read them.
XBMC is the coolest program for the xbox. The one thing that i would like added to it, is the capability of fast forwarding music or rewinding. I have a feeling that someone is going to say that you can do this already, but damn, i have pushed every buton on my controller and i cant do it.

-The 2X rewind is quite clearly not even close to being 2X. In fact, in comparison to the fast forward it's somewhere in between 4x and 8x, making rewinding nearly impossible.
This cannot be helped by the XBMC team as Mplayer, which XBMC uses to play everything doesn't have a rewind or fast forward feature, this is the best that could be done, which is why they have the back button to go back 5 seconds and the up and left buttons to seek back a certain amount.

Make the rewind/ff display (the dots on a line) higher up into the picture.
This is set by the user. Go into Settings>My Videos>Screen Calibration and change where you want subs to be, this will also determine where that display is.

The Decibel meter uses Up on the directional pad to go right, and down to go left. Why not use Left for Left? Furthermore why was the graphical representation of this changed from a little while ago? Make it match the pause box, etc
Change it in the keymap to what you want. It's up/down because it turns the volume up/down, not left/right. The graphical representation depends on the skinner but it was changed from before as you used to have to go through the OSD to change it.

Why is MyVideos so far down on the list. Most people use XBMC for videos first and foremost.
Already been said. With PM 2 just change it.

You can do it, but only with the remote. As soon as a music OSD is implemented then you'll be able to with the controller. In fact..... perhaps you could configure the keymap to use the triggers just as with movies.
Hope this helps

That is fine. I remember a build of XBMP about a year and a half ago where you would click A, and a Windows Media Player like display would come up and you could fast forward and the lowest setting was about a minute per second that you used it. Glad we at least dont have to deal with that.

Doesn't work on my TV, at least not the build I used.

Fair enough. The new colorful display for it should be reverted to have a consistent look.

It really should be the standard.

how u do that???
i been wanting to kno that for a min now
New Colourful display for volume control? Not sure how colourful yours is, but the one in CVS is not particularly colourful. You can remap it to whatever buttons you like in keymap.xml - the reason it is on up and down is it is more intuitive to think of pressing up to increase the volume. The problem IMO is that the volume bar is displayed horizontally instead of vertically. Fixing that will take a fair amount of code shuffling, however.
Videos the default? Fair enough - just change it in the skin - how hard can that be? Note that many people use XBMC solely for music - we have to find a common middle ground. Luckily, it's all skinnable, and with newer versions it's all controllable from within the GUI (at least if the skin supports it)
PM2 cannot be made the default skin - it contains copyrighted images.
Would you prefer that REWd was removed altogether? If not, please name one application (on ANY platform) that allows rewinding of videos (non-DVD).

Me to, i have it set up and can see the video files off the dvd drive on my pc but when i click on them nothing happens, or one of the files lets me see a black screen for a few seconds then back to xbmc, someone suggested that it might be a network thing but i just wanna know how other people have theres setup?
A normal SMB share is how i do it...
And you stack and click on the ifo and it runs fine? cause i have tried everyway, i can stream movies and music fine from my comp,i can even streasm avi files off of a cd from the dvd drive of the pc fine but streaming dvd's just wont work.

Yeah, thats what I do. It could be your dvd drive on your pc or your network. I have a dvd drive in my xbox and a dvd burner, and the dvd drive works for streaming but the dvd burner doesn't.
I have never had any problems streaming a dvd from the dvd drive. If it is possible, try a different dvd drive and see if it works, if it doesn't, then I say it is probably your network(it might not be able to get the video to the xbox fast enough).
