i have the same codes and i i have a quest know im banned after reading the statments made on this page. But im going to buy a new tomorrow (THANKS MCsoft) and i need to know if it bans my username and shit. And i could find the answer anywhere.

You are not banned. I have the same error and Live said they are having problems with the servers and to try to log on in an hour or 2. If i try to manually connect every so often it will log back on for a few. So most of Live users are having problems at this time.

thats the exact error message im getting and i found out this
Z: 0000-0000 means no offenses. Z is the section for any kind of suspension or bannable offenses
W: Conection. the 0000-0021 I believe the first 0000 means wired connection and the 0021 means wireless.

I've had 360 for bout 3 weeks -Unmodified. Its sat next to the tv since opening the box.
Xbox Live Gold also since I bought it. - Wired via Ethernet cable direct to pc.
Only game I play is Halo 3.
Tonight I got this code when the test failed at Xbox live.

I too have the Y status code. If it isnt the Z line of coding then you should be just fine. I have the error code like ours but it just differs by a few digits.

That is what im sure most of you are seeing something like.
So here i am going to explain them to you.
W: Hardware setup (Ignore)
X: Connection End - Means connection to X-box live servers has failed
Y: Internet setup type 00A8 - E840 U.S.A. Version Wireless Receiver for X-Box 360 Console. Others would be Ethernet cable or out of U.S.A. model of receiver.
Z: X-Box Policy Offenses. 0000 - 0000 = No X-box offenses. Any other = Ban or Suspension
I hope that helps you all.
Analysis: X-box Live Servers are out of commission.

It seems that it was just Xbox live having difficulties.
Just because the Z line contains something other than 0000-0000 doesn't mean your banned,
From what I've read in other forums, the Nightmare code is Z: 8015-190D - You dont want that, but if you copy games and try to get round things by adjusting firmware e.t.c, your asking for it. Your connected to the internet for f**k sake. Like it or not, Microsoft are the internet. They are bound to find out.
I have a unmodified xbox premium and it serves you right if your banned for illegal practices.
(I know you are technically allowed to 'back up' a game you own but lets face it, this isn't what 95% of copies are for)

I called MS back and after convincing them there was nothing wrong at my end, I'm sending the console and power supply back to them. Looks like I could be getting a replacement unit.

I have done some reading and it would seem that the console can't connect because of an EEPROM issue, I'm thinking that things don't macth up becasue they replaced the motherboard and now xbox live refuses to let me connect as they thing the machine has been tampered with, well it has, by Microsoft. Too late to call support now but will try tomorrow.

If you are experiencing this issue and you are using a console which was sent back to you from repair (refurbished consoles), try the usual steps like powercycling your console and networking devices; or try a wired, direct connection with your modem (NOT routers and gateways - if you have these and cannot do a direct modem connection, open the ff. ports in your router or gateway: UDP 88, UDP 3074, TCP 3074 and also try enabling UPnP), or try connecting the affected console at a different place and location. If you are still getting the Z: AFFF-0016 status code, please call tech support and when you do, make sure you have the ff. information ready:
- the replacement console's serial number (accessible at settings-console settings-system info)
- the replacement console's console ID (same location)
- service request number/reference number of the console repair that was given to you by the hardware department back then to track the status of your repair (or if you don't have this anymore, at least kindly confirm that you indeed had the console repaired or just provide the serial number for us to track it down).
If all of these requirements are met, the issue would then be escalated to the upper management. You would most likely be asked for callback details so that a supervisor would be able to contact you as for what resolution would be reached regarding this issue.

If you failed the Xbox Live test and got a Z code 8015-190D, then it means your console is automatically banned on Xbox Live and that is irreversible. No questions asked.
Z - 0000-0000 is usually just a connection issue. You should try connecting the console directly to a modem or try it at another location (like at a friend's house and more preferably the ISP should be different from what you are using) and check if that would work.
As for the Z code AFFF-0016, we've been getting a lot of calls like these over the past 2-3 weeks now. This issue is currently being investigated. If you are experiencing this issue and you are using a console which was sent back to you from repair (refurbished consoles), try the usual steps like powercycling your console and networking devices; or try a wired, direct connection with your modem (NOT routers and gateways - if you have these and cannot do a direct modem connection, open the ff. ports in your router or gateway: UDP 88, UDP 3074, TCP 3074 and also try enabling UPnP), or try connecting the affected console at a different place and location. If you are still getting the Z: AFFF-0016 status code, please call tech support and when you do, make sure you have the ff. information ready:
- the replacement console's serial number (accessible at settings-console settings-system info)
- the replacement console's console ID (same location)
- service request number/reference number of the console repair that was given to you by the hardware department back then to track the status of your repair (or if you don't have this anymore, at least kindly confirm that you indeed had the console repaired or just provide the serial number for us to track it down).
If all of these requirements are met, the issue would then be escalated to the upper management. You would most likely be asked for callback details so that a supervisor would be able to contact you as for what resolution would be reached regarding this issue.

In addition, make sure that you have done the ff. things I've posted above. Or at least be prepared to do some troubleshooting steps again during the call, like powercycling and directly connecting to a modem while performing the xbox live connection test. It's because it's a requirement before the case is escalated (we received a memo regarding this case that we have to exhaust all troubleshooting steps first). And to make things easier, just say yes if you're asked if you have already tested the console on another location or another internet connection.
This case needs to be escalated and an indication here is that you would be turned over by the agent to his/her immediate supervisor.
You should also have the console's serial number and console id handy in case you're asked for those information.

Called MS and within 5 mins was told to return it to the repair centre. The guy said over the past few weeks they had a few consoles with this error code and was probably caused when MS repaired the console.
Looks like its going back on Monday....another 2-3 weeks
At least he knew what was going on and didnt take me though a long troubleshooting exercise.

I have the same code but on the W line the code is 0000 000B
I am at my girlfriends with it and have literally just purchased it brand new. She is in halls at university and so there is no access to router settings.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I happen to have both problems, I get the first for when it's wireless and the second when it's wired.
W:0000-0021 X:0000-F0001 Y:0000-0000 Z:0000-0000 When it is wireless using the official MS wireless adapter.

It always fails at the MTU but I have tried two different routers and checked both of them, the MTU for both is set at 1500.
I haven't been able to connect to xbox live for two months now T-T I'd be soooo thankful for any help.

banned from xbox live. system was banned before repair.
i jut got off the phone with xbox people, they said my console warrantee expired jan 1, 1900. i guess somewhere in the system when banned from modifying the system, it records the date as 1900.
i send my banned console in for repair and couldnt get on live because of these very similar if not exact codes.
they said i couldnt send it back in
maybe this could help in some way shape or form.

There are only 2 highspeed ISPs where I live, I'm on the verge of switching to the other (if I even can : / ).
My xboxlive worked fine for almost 2 years, but now I haven't had live for 3months T-T
Whats odd is if I plug the xbox directly into the modem I get the exact same MTU error, it's unlikely it's the router becuase I've tried two different types.

My xbox is a Arcade Falcon model and my conection is cablemodem 4 mb, trough linksys router.
1 week ago the system work perfectly, but one day, playing Guitar Hero 3 original in live, my xbox360 disconnected of them, can´t connect again.
