I don't have any experience with this nor do I play multiplayer games but wanted to know if this is even remotely possible. I think there are some games that offer multiplayer on a local network (if you have 2 xbox360's on the same router/hub). Is it possible to establish a VPN connection between 2 routers (routers with a firmware such as dd-wrt) and have 2 xbox's see each other??
Just a theory, haven't tested this myself but wondering if anyone has.
Hmm...it depends if the packets that are broadcasted by the 360s to find each other are routable. VPN would be using two different subnets to talk to each other so I think it would not work. If the VPNs were bridgeable this would work but I do not think they are. I like the thought though. It will make me brainstorm.

check out http://www.leafnetworks.net/ for an easier way to solve your connecting xbox consoles on different networks issue... i have not used it for multiplayer, and a pc running xp and the leafnetworks app is required on each network, but i have used it for filesharing among my closest friends and it works pretty good(i can browse their shared networks as if they were on my home network which is what you want for system link games).
