Title: Pppoe Whats This?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pppoe

you want to explain your network setup?

are you wired into a router? are you going directly into your modem? are you wireless? just give us something to work with wink.gif

i know on an old linksys router, there was a problem with their implementation of pppoe that made it not work properly with xbox live and i had to turn it off (this was a few years back, the current firmware revisions have the issue fixed).

you might want to check the microsoft website to see if there are any known issues with your model of router

try power cycling the modem, its possible that its saving your computers mac address in memory and getting confused because when you hook it up to the 360, it sees something differant.

if that doesn't work, i would personally say get a router so that you don't have to cable swap and you can just have your 360 and your computer wired up, but you can give your ISP a call and see if they locked your computers mac address so that they won't provide service to anything else other then that MAC address.
