Title: Upgrading Xbmc When Using It As Dashboard
Post by: Zyyke on November 25, 2004, 04:26:00 PM
As described in the title.
I upgraded from Evox -> XBMC 1.1.0, and have been happy since. But I didn't think about what to do when upgrading to a more recent version of XBMC. Does anyone have any tips?  <

I  keep Avalauch installed even though I am using  XBMC as my default dash. When I want to upgrade XBMC, I launch avalauch, reneame the XBMC directory to XBMC_old then copy over the latest one.
If the new build is messed up, I just start avalauch again and delete the new build and rename xbmc_old to xbmc (or whatever your original directory was).  <

Thanks! I had a hunch that using the XBMC default.xbe and then trying to delete it wouldn't be such a good idea. Thanks for all your replies!  <
