Ok. This is what I know about this problem. Apperntly the 1.6 (not the 1.6b) has an issue where if you restart the box and or try IGR, the xbox will not have video/audio and on a press of the eject button, it will flash green.
From an inside source somewhere (looks around for people watching) this was actually the reason why the 1.6b was created as a fix for this problem. Except it didnt work. What makes it worse is that it will happen mostly on Pal boxes as oppsed to NTSC. However, this problem dose not cause harm to the xbox and seems as I was told "An issue with the chances made to the 1.6's hardware primarly the lack of tsop's and the hardware that went with it.

Ill get back with some actually papers on it.

But according to my Focus chip that is in it, I should have a 1.4 or a 1.5 xbox, right?

I have the exact problem: turn xbox on, no vid+no sound+cant eject.
When i turn on my modchip (by holding my power button, thats how my modchip turns on) everything boots up fine.
Sometimes it will boot up without the mod when i need to use live but most times it just give the the no vid+no sound+cant eject problem.
Is there anyway to fix this problem?? (eg flash bios, etc)
My chip is the Aladdin chip, dont know the version. I have one of the earlier v1.0 or v1.1 xbox.

Anyone know a way of flashing the TSOP with my chip or flash it anyway which does not include opening the case? If it includes opening the case is there a easier way ?

EDIT: I fould a easy way - http://llamma.com/xb...ComaConsole.htm
In the guide it says "STEP 6 : Solder the jumper wire from the A18 or A19 to the ground point at the right side of the capacitor . "
So i just connect A18 or A19 to the ground point with a wire and solder the points right??
Sorry for my noobiness   ph34r.gif

Nice to hear that the guide works!  beerchug.gif
So you just soldered A18/A19 to the capacitor with a wire (would any type of wire work?) and it all works? no need to flash the TSOP or anything?

booted right up.  I have little soldering experience and I still managed to do it.  I went to RadioShack and bought a cheap iron, .022" rosin core silver bearing solder, some 4 strand 24awg wire (I just stripped out one wire), and some odds and ends.  After stripping the wire I noticed that the insulation simply wasn't up to the task on such a short wire, so I took all the insulation off and installed it bare.  after that I covered the wire with duct tape (I couldn't find any electrical tape) and I put the board back in and booted her up. biggrin.gif

Also I just tinned the wire on both ends.  Then I held it in place and heated the wire to liquify the solder to hold it in place (not sure if this is how soldering is supposed to be done)

i have this same problem with my modded xbox.  it is soft modded though, so i don't have a mod chip.  would this solution solve my problem as well?
