I think 160gb is a good size, price to gb ratio, atm. I also like to go double on my upgrades - i currently have 160gb in my pc, coming from 80.
Anyway, i plan to make this xbox silent, or at least very very quiet, and i've heard great things about these hard drives. This looks like a nice price too. I checked the xbox compatibility list and it's working and lockable.

Anyway, any opinions?

shameless bumpology.
Am i asking in the wrong forum?

I have a Samsung 160 gig SATA drive in my PC, and I must say that its pretty quiet.
Not sure if Seagate drives are more quiet though, according to the specs it should be, but I cant really tell. I have a 80 gig Seagate too, and that one is pretty quiet too, so.
But definately Samsung or Seagate I would say.

yer i got seagates in my pc - nice except for the buzzing on the 7200.7s, and they dont make the barracuda 4s big enough.
I've been told samsung are very quiet with a nidec motor, less so with a JVC motor. Going to go ahead and find a retailer tommorow.

i have the 8mb cache version of that drive(sp1614n) in my xbox and it is extremely quiet plus it gives my evo-x hdd temps.

I´m gonna put in a Samsung 160 in my xbox too. Is there any point in getting the 8 mb cache version instead of the 2 mb, seeing that its about 13$ more? Im rather strapped for cash.
