This whole time...I must admit, I didn't know the full potential of the XBMC until just now.  I just found out how to go directly to my computer and play music and videos that won't transfer over to the xbox.  I would convert the videos to wmv using windows movie maker.  Dammit, you cats get alot of props from me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My only thought would be allowing other visuals.  I'm gonna search for it, but that's why I'm here.  I would love other visuals like I get with windows media player.  <

I found the visualizations.  It seems I wasn't the only person wondering how to change them.  It would be nice to change them on the fly :)  <

What's up Blk,

I just joined XBS, though I've been frequenting it fer a while now. I have learned alot and have my box running relatively tight but you just threw me fer a loop. You mean you can access files on yer PC directly from yer Box? I mean my Box is networked and I swap files regularly but to access files from by PC directly through my Box I didn't even know was possible. And visualizations? Whoa, yo, get back at me if you can, lets chat. I need some connects up in here anyway...lol  <

Check the stickied topics at the top of this forum.  There is a manual for XBMC linked, as well as tutorials on using different streaming protocols (Samba, ccxgui, Relax, XBMSP, etc) so you can access files on your PC thru your XBox.    <

Sorry for that delay.  Yes, you can directly access your computer through XBMC.  The only thing you need to do is "share" the folder you want...and when you go to your music, video, picture, select (for me), it's "Workgroups(SMB)"

That should pick your computer up if you have sharing enabled.  I have Win XP.  This works wirelessly as well.
