Ok noob...yeah I contradict myself...lol Not my fault your not smart enough to comprehend what the situation is. And really I could care less if the xbox ever works,...its not mine

I just find it strange that with all the people that have problems on here, but I don't see much error 9.
Any moron can figure out that he had this problem before he ever opened his xbox. After the error code came about, he opened it up trying to figure it out through process of elimination, replacing one thing at a time. Come on people its not that hard.

i dont think it was soo hard to figure out..
he got the stock box that was having an error.. there was no trace damage cause it was stock.. then hi installed the mod, and dvd and hd
check the pins on the IDE connector, maybe one of the solder joints came loose
yeah I haven't checked that. Will look....thx for the reply too.

You constantly contradict yourself and i hope no one helps you as you seem to be a real prick.
Merry xmas and i hope your box is fucked.
Dude, this guy is not a noob...hes been around here a lot longer than you and has contributed great ideas and mods to the scene...Notice how every single person that flamed you has under 75 posts? Noobs trying to sound important by flaming ppl
On a seperate note about your problem, I tend to agree with fallInc...I would check all of the IDE pins to see if that is a problem. Also, have you tried it with another different HD that was locked? I know you said you already replaced it with another one, but perhaps, although very unlikely, that one had something wrong with it too.
still can't figure this one out.
just a thought on the subject, but since you have by process of elimination ruled a lot out, you may want to
take another 1.1-1.5 mobo with all the other parts and assemble, if they work the way they should, its the board.
it is possible the onboard ide controller is shot thus rendering it unable to identify the drive properly.
and on the noob bs, guys, take it with a grain of salt, the guy has no doubt got a customer who wants it back NOW and giving him plenty of crap about why havent you fixed it yet?
but would definately consider that is prolly gonna be the controller on the board
i bought the whole xbox off the kid for 40 bux because I'm starting to lean further toward the fact that the ide controller is dead. The ide controller works at least a lil though, because the thing knows when I take the hdd out, it gives me 7. This is the third m/b since I started moddding a couple years ago that has had this error. Im pretty sure I ended up scrapping the board for parts...lol
