What a busy day its been for the scene :) We have been working very hard on a number of products these last few months, one in particular that we have been very excited about. You may have read our news the other day that one of of our more popular products had been copied in China. We hear today that another group are releasing a product whose vague description sounded strikingly similar to ours. As this is a cat and mouse business these days we figured that wed let this particular cat out of the bag and give you a sneak peak at one of the big products we have been working on these last couple of months.
The Xecuter X360 USB PRO The Worlds first ALL 360 DVD to USB Adapter!
As part of the team who are extensively involved in the programming of DVD firmware, we have been able to develop the most stable and solid 360 DVD to USB converter that you could ever possibly wish for. Gone are the days of Sata cards and disabling VIA drivers and messing around with x64 issues. Simply plug in your drive to your USB port and go. Supports all Hitachi, Samsung, Benq & Liteon DVD Drives ! Finally this is now open to all from beginners to hard core enthusiasts.
The prototypes we have been working with are obviously very roughly made but we are about a week or so away from a final test prototype and production should begin soon. There will also be custom software which is also in development.

They would have to be for the 9000 series LiteOn. There is no way this conversion kit could over come that. I think this will be a good product for those who do not already have the SATA card etc...

I have no problem doing it the old fashioned way, but I help out a dude with a local repair shop and this would make work so much easier for us. Sounds good, even if it's a ripoff. Maximus is a good dude though, so I'll get his if he beats them to production.

Maximus Lizard
First I would like to say that the demo was great but I take it cautiously that is genuine results showing and not a feed from a PC on an LCD screen. Why? First we didn't see any actual hardware neither from Maximus neither from Xecuter. We just saw a dos window demo and a LCD menu navigation with supposed read and flashing.... we didnt see any drive connected or the USB connection on PC or what else is used. If Maximus is in production why are they afraid to show the final product in full action? Just a question to make you wonder...
EDIT: After having a better look at Xecuter's board diagram, I can say that there will be external power source to power the drive. I can say that there is a PC PSU normal power connector (female) on the board to provide the proper power to the Drive (5V from USB are not enough for sure, it needs 12V), like the plug that was exist on CK3.

I'm confused about this I was kinda lucky with my two 360s and got one with a Benq drive and one with a Liteon 83v1, which you can flash without fully opening it and without any tools like a spear etc! Now that I don't have these utilities, I do think, that we'll still need them with this Xecuter X360 USB Pro / new Maximus? Like a spear for Liteon 7x to read the key?
It's just about the USB plug, so people don't struggle with VIA drivers anymore?

I am allmost certain that the driver problems and SATA incompatibilities will be gone with a complete USB solution. This is what logic says. But, I doubt that we will avoid any "spear" trick. We will still need to do so.

It's a bit OT but I'll help.
If you already have ix1.6, you won't need a spear. For lite-on drives, just power on with the tray half ejected and using Jungleflasher, select the option 'dummy from iXtreme'. Save the dummy.bin and keep it very safe you won't need anything more in future, as all the data needed is in the dummy.bin.

A bit off topic, but i was just wondering if anyone else just uses their Intel ICH9/10 on their mobo to flash? I always hear about people using VIA cards, and on a diff site, almost everyone's sig says VIA. I've flashed my Lite-On successfully with 2 different Intel mobos (Foxconn and Gigabyte). No need for an extra VIA. Is there something else to it or am i just lucky.

The lizard: there will be no soldering needed to install this device / product in your console, but you will still need to prep the drive the same way as if you were using a maximus xtractor pro or T-X CK3 current product.
this i have confirmed.
maybe later on, with new techniques but currently if you have to prep a liteon drive with a rebuild pcb, then you will still need to do this. This will just get rid of the need for a via chipset. Just plug it into the PC USB.
I suspect both maximus and T-X product will do the same thing it will come down to support from others.

love the new product tx,i wont be using this as sata is much faster for read and write then usb.def a great product for many ppl who dont have sata ports(ie laptops) or cant understand setting up sata...and while this product will allow alot on n00bs to flash their own devices,it will also help to have some cover for the sceners out there playing as the n00bs will surely be running wave patched and early release games, giving m$ many easy consoles to ban and maybe making ours a lil more off the radar!!long live tx!!(and maximus-both have contributed great products to the scene)

The Lizard has to be real if letsmod, and carranzafp say it is. When you on this site long enough, you learn who to trust and who is full of crap. Those 2, you can trust. Foundmy has stated that you still need to prep (ie. cut traces etc) on the 93450c which makes total sense. There is no physical way that any device can overcome that given the current techniques available to dump the firmware.

Thumps up!
But I still have to see actual final products, actually working (and their pricing) to be convinced that they do worth it and they can deliver something different. Obviously they can deliver what they promise, because both publish quality products. My worry is that everytime both teams publish something similar, they both have similar prices too.... maybe we are the only ones arguing about these teams but they are like "together" into the development and pricing policies? Anyway I don't expect both products to be over $50-$60 on retail and i bet their price difference won't be more than $5 from each other, as always

I questioned a video made 8 months ago of an LCD screen with some pretty graphics on it.

It's as [FAKE] as Xtractor Reader's bug for flow control
Xecuter have provided me with a prototype, I'm very fortunate at this stage to have this, as I only have a laptop for Drive Flashing ATM.
It's worked 100% so far, (BenQ/Samsung) I've work in the morning so need to go to bed soon!
It took 45 seconds to setup (installing drivers) and has worked flawlessly so far, bad flash recovery seems to work too! No VIA/Nforce required.
Hat's off to TX, for a prototype, I'd be hard pushed to choose to go back to a desktop again, this product has the potential to be the best.
Note. Before anyone says I'm biased, look, its an Xtractor Pro 2 I use to power the drive, courtesy of Letsmod/VGC **Although, the RS232 side didnt work, and was a known fault (wasnt it redeath?) but VGC sent 1 of the known faulty ones anyway, thanks Ed The team appreciated that!
