Title: Hey Guys
Post by: BeerOrDeath on February 28, 2008, 05:39:00 PM
I had a 360 that kept freezing. It'd randomly go to a solid green screen or a wallpaper looking striped screen while I was playing a game.

I swapped the game for different copies several times, but it was still happening.

I had a different 360 whose disc drive went out. It wouldn't read any discs, not even dvd's.

The drive models matched, so I swapped them out. It didn't work the first time, so I swapped the boards and lasers out. It worked then, but every once in a while I'd get a "wrong format" or "disc unreadable" error. I'd restart, it'd work.

Now, I moved my room around, relocated my xbox with the working drive and the thing won't eject discs or read them. I'm not getting an error or any sort of code or screen, it just won't read. It will say "reading," then go back to "Open Tray."

When the tray is open, selecting "close tray" on the dashboard works fine.

My question is, what is wrong? It worked fine last night, no problems what so ever. I've tried standing it up, I've tried laying it down. I'm getting ready to get back inside of it and check cords.

Any suggestions?
