Title: X-clamp And Eraser Trick

I recently did the eraser trick to fix the rrod on my 360, I know this method wont last long so I finally got the materials to do the xclamp fix. but my question is, should I do it now even thou I still dont get the rrod, or should I wait for it? and if I wait for the rrod and it comes, should I replace back the "clay" that was on the rams with the current erasors before doing the xclamp?
